After falling ill with a 103-degree fever, Austin Mahone has been forced to postpone his MTV Artist to Watch Tour to 2014. The “What About Love” singer’s mother, Michele, made the announcement on his Twitter account Thursday night (October 17), sending out sincere apologies and asking for prayers from Mahomies everywhere.
“Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out,” she wrote. “We feel very bad but we have no choice but to cancel the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers #PrayforAustin.”
The EMA nominee had been feeling under the weather all week. And by Thursday, he had “never felt so bad,” sharing an Instagram photo from the doctor’s office, and had to push back his stops in Miami and Orlando. The 10-city trek was originally slated to start Thursday in Miami.
“Due to illness Austin Mahone will unfortunately have to postpone his sold-out MTV Artist to Watch Presents Tour to 2014,” MTV confirmed in a statement Thursday night. “The singer… is now on strict doctor’s orders to stay on rest and will need to reschedule all dates on the tour. The tour featured support artists Becky G, Midnight Red, and We 3 The Future. Ticket holders for the sold out tour will be notified of the new 2014 dates and all details as soon as possible.”
