When thosefighter jets go screaming over the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wedding they’ll only have one name to write in the sky. Yes, after making herself an international celebrity with an iconic double consonant pair of initials and a last name that everyone knows, Kim is giving up her famous surname.
The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star told E! News that once she and Yeezy get married she plans to take his name and make Kardashian her middle name, just like sister Khloe did when she married Lamar Odom. “I will,” Kim said when asked if she’ll take Kanye’s name. “Kim Kardashian West, no hyphen. Make it [Kardashian] the middle.”
While West is already booking the jets, Kim said that the week since their instantly legendary ballpark engagement has been such a blur that she hasn’t even had time to think about planning. “As far as wedding stuff, we haven’t even talked about anything — it’s been such a whirlwind,” she said. “We need like a moment to relax and figure it all out. I’m going to leave this up to him. Whatever he wants.”
She also revealed that she was completely stunned by Kanye’s AT&T Park proposal. “My eyes were closed and then I got up and I still the whole time I didn’t think it was a proposal,” she said of the San Francisco surprise. “I thought it was dinner on the baseball field and we had a nice orchestra. I still didn’t get it…when he got on his knee, I kind of figured out what was going on.”
Kanye is aiming for next summer for the blessed event, which, he hinted, might be open to the public, if the price is right. “I would take as much as possible,” he said of any possible offers from TV networks wanting to show the wedding. “What’s official for everybody in this room and everybody on this globe right now is them bills. If you can help out with those bills, because you know me and Kim are in the exploitation business. We get paid to exploit ourselves. I’ma give my daughter the opportunity to choose when she wants to be exploited. That’s the reason we didn’t take any money for any baby pictures.”
