With the Jonas Brothers clearing the air about why they have decided to break up as a band, Joe Jonas is taking the opportunity to also address rumors that an alleged drug problem played a part in the split.
In an interview with People, the 24-year-old calls the gossip “ridiculous,” adding, “We’re not saying anything for two or three weeks and I’m a drug addict!”
Shortly after the band canceled their fall tour earlier this month, TMZ reported that Joe was spotted in Los Angeles being tailed by an addiction specialist. Soon after, it was rumored that he and girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler were addicted to heroin.
“It’s obviously not true. I’ve never touched heroin in my life. Either has my girlfriend. It’s hilarious to me, but also frustrating as well. It pissed me off when it’s about my girl and even about myself,” he said. “I was walking down the street and people are asking me if they can give me a hug and how rehab is. I’m like, you tell me because I’ve never been.”

And while Joe has several weeks to address the gossip, he said that he waited because “we all had to deal with it in our own way. I needed time to clear my head.”
On Wednesday (October 30), the band also appeared on “Good Morning America,” and during the sit-down, Nick shared that he was the one who first suggested the band breakup after four albums and two successful “Camp Rock” movies, among other endeavors as a trio.
“I think in a nutshell I said, ‘Look, I feel like we’ve had some complications with the new group for a long time without addressing them,” Nick said. “I think this train will fall off the tracks without really getting real about some of the concerns and some of the limitations we may feel as individuals.’ “
While the brothers had been prepping a new album, V, they confirmed they have no plans to release it in its entirety but instead will drop four unreleased songs off the album.
