2 Chainz is gearing up for a big 2014, set to kick off with his aptly titled 2 G.O.O.D. 2 Be T.R.U. tour with his G.O.O.D. Music labelmate Pusha T.
The Grammy nominee is also bringing along Def Jam artist August Alsina on the 21-date North American trek, kicking off February 4 at the House of Blues in Boston and hitting cities including New York, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Miami Beach and Washington, D.C.
“The best way to describe my tour is to reference a quote from Niccolo Machiavelli, author of the The Prince, who once said ‘Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.’ 2 G.O.O.D. 2 Be T.R.U.,” 2 Chainz declared in a press release announcing the tour.
Just last week, 2 Chainz earned a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Song category for “F—ing Problems.” Last year, he was nominated alongside Pusha T in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories for the G.O.O.D. Music collaboration “Mercy” and in the Best Rap Album category for his Based on a TRU Story.
In a November interview with MTV News’ Sway Calloway on his “Sway in the Morning” radio show, G.O.O.D. Music patriarch Kanye West talked about why he decided to bring Kendrick Lamar on his Yeezus Tour instead of making it a G.O.O.D. Music family affair, saying he wasn’t “marginalized” by his relationship with his labelmates. But it looks like 2 Chainz and Pusha T are looking to keep it mostly in the family on 2 G.O.O.D. 2 Be T.R.U.
Tickets (ranging from $32.00 to $150.00) will be available Friday.
