The basic idea is to take “Sherlock” characters and cast them in the roles of characters from “Frozen,” rather than vice-versa. It also seems to have started with user sash-kash, and then spread around Tumblr from there; eventually taking on a life of its own.

Sometimes it’s called Frozen!lock, sometimes just Frozenlock. But however you tag it, here’s what you need to know to get meme-ing right away:
