Kristen Stewart Uses Thought Police To Steal Jennifer Lawrence’s Boyfriend

After knocking boots (and shattering an entire set of bedroom furniture) with her undead husband in the “Twilight” films, Kristen Stewart should be basically unfazeable when it comes to making amore on-screen. And yet, her latest interview shows the actress having a heart attack over her next romantic role:

“I’m terrified of it,” Stewart said yesterday of “Equals,” a recently announced sci-fi drama directed by Drake Doremus. “Though it’s a movie with a really basic concept, it’s overtly ambitious.”

Doremus, in turn, described the film thusly: “It’s about love in a world where love really doesn’t exist anymore.”

The love story that’s got Stewart so nervous has a classic premise, one that invites comparisons to the definitive dystopian romance “1984.” The film takes place in a futuristic society where hope and happiness are in short supply, a bleak setting which the actress described as an up-to-date version of the one portrayed in the 1956 adaptation of George Orwell’s novel. “In ‘Equals,’ things go wrong because you can’t deny the humanity in everyone,” Stewart explained. “It’s the most devastating story.”

Appearing opposite her in the film is Nicholas Hoult, known for his roles in “Warm Bodies” and the “X-Men” franchise; although lately, he may be more famous for his role as the boyfriend of America’s super-sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence. In fact, Lawrence read for the role first but couldn’t see herself in the part, leaving it open for Stewart to snag the lead opposite her man.

“Equals” is set to begin filming soon, by which time K-Stew will have hopefully conquered her insecurities about the role. In the meantime, though, she admitted that her trepidation caused her to issue Doremus the biggest disclaimer of her career.

“I told Drake, ‘Don’t expect that I am going to be able to do this. It’s too hard,” Stewart said, adding that until the cameras are rolling the emotional depth of the task ahead has her quivering in her Balenciaga booties.

“It’s a love story of epic, epic, epic proportion,” Stewart confessed. “I’m scared.”
