A Georgia man was convicted of homicide by vessel on Thursday (February 20) for the death of Usher’s stepson Kile Glover in a Jet Ski accident.
In addition to the homicide conviction, Jeffrey S. Hubbard was also found guilty of serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and a boat traffic violation, the Associated Press has confirmed.
Glover and another victim were struck by a Jet Ski on Lake Lanier, near Atlanta, in the summer of 2012. Glover suffered serious head injuries, and more than two weeks after the accident, the 11-year-old was removed from life support.
Hubbard was reportedly a friend of Tameka Foster, Glover’s mother and Usher’s ex-wife. Following the accident, police said drugs or alcohol were not involved.
Glover was laid to rest on July 27, 2012, in a ceremony attended by many members of Atlanta’s musical community, including Ludacris, Jazze Pha and Phaedra Parks from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
