Hollywood lost a comedy legend today, when director, writer and actor Harold Ramis died at the age of 69 from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.
A quick glance at Ramis’ resume could serve as a well-informed list of the best comedies of the 70s, 80s and 90s. He got his start writing late 70s comedy classics like “Animal House” and “Meatballs,” before moving onto directing with such films as “Caddyshack,” “Vacation” and “Groundhog Day.”
Ramis may be gone, but the many iconic movies he lent his hilarious touch to in one way or another will always be around. These are some of our favorites.
