What Time Are The Oscars?

It’s show time! Well, it’s almost show time.

The 2014 Oscars are just hours away, beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET. Before the show starts, expect to see all of the nominees and other stars hitting the red carpet, with our very own Oscars 2014: Red Carpet Live show, hosted by MTV’s Josh Horowitz and VH1’s Kate Spencer.

Oscars 2014: Red Carpet Live begins at 5:00 p.m. ET and lasts until 7:30 p.m. ET. That’s right — we’ve left you just enough time to squeeze in a power-nap between our red carpet coverage and the start of the Oscars. You’re welcome in advance!

Ellen DeGeneres is hosting the big night, her second time at the helm of the Academy Awards, having previously hosted the 79th edition of the ceremony in 2007. She’ll be the master of ceremonies for what’s surely one of the most competitive Oscar nights in recent memory, with heavyweight contenders of all shapes and sizes, including Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street,” Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave,” David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” Alfonso Cuaron’s “Gravity” and many more.

Who will win? Who will lose? Who will get played off the stage in the middle of an awkward booze-filled acceptance speech, ala Jacqueline Bisset at this year’s Golden Globes? We’ll find out all those answers and more when the Oscars begin at 8:30 p.m. ET.
