Get out those scratching posts, because it looks as if we may have the makings of an epic Young Adult catfight on our hands!
“Shailene Woodley (or should we say shade-lene?) stirred the pot in a recent interview with Teen Vogue magazine, in which she dissed another very popular Young Adult franchise.
“‘Twilight,’ I’m sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship,” she said. “She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she’s going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve.”
Those sound like fighting words to us! You hear that, Kristen Stewart?
After all, “Divergent” isn’t short on the boy drama either. Though Woodley’s character, Tris, is, in our opinion, more kick-ass than Bella Swan of “Twilight” (after all, one of them dreams of making out with a vampire while the other literally fights for her life and is instrumental in a revolution), she has a little thang going with Four (Theo James), who is basically her teacher. Bow chicka.
Woodley also dished about her own relationship status in the interview.
“I literally have not had a boyfriend in almost five years. I’ve never even hooked up with anybody I’ve worked on a movie with,” she said, and then laughingly admitted that once cameras stopped rolling, that chemistry may have been taken to the next level. “Well, that might have happened on something….”
“Divergent” hits theaters March 21.
