‘Arrow’: Everything You Missed On ‘Suicide Squad’

It was one of the most anticipated episodes of “

Can You Diggle It?
In this week’s Diggle-centric episode of “Arrow,” Oliver Queen takes a backseat as his head of security embarks on a quest to retrieve a biochemical weapon for A.R.G.U.S. leader, Amanda Waller.

Meanwhile, Oliver does everything in his power to track down Slade Wilson, Dig is enlisted for a special A.R.G.U.S. task force joining the likes of Bronze Tiger, Shrapnel, and Deadshot. Although initially hesitant about the whole thing, he soon comes to realize that good and evil aren’t always that easy to differentiate.

Mockingbird
Although we’ve seen Amanda Waller a few times so far this season, we’ve never really seen her in action. “Suicide Squad” shows us a whole new side of “The Wall”; a leader who isn’t afraid to manipulate her teammates in order to get what she wants. The Amanda Waller seen in this week’s episode is a no-nonsense, tough as nails professional who will sacrifice her own task force if necessary, as she is in the DC comic book universe.

Deadshot’s Daughter
Adding a layer of humanity to his character, Floyd Lawton reveals that he has a daughter, Zoe, whom he chooses to stay away from for her own good. According to the comics, Deadshot eventually takes on all of the local gangs in Star City as a means of cleaning up the streets for his daughter. Here’s hoping we see something of a similar nature in an upcoming episode of “Arrow.”

Missing Members
While being introduced to the rest of the Suicide Squad, a familiar voice is heard offscreen offering to give Dig and Lyla couples therapy. For those of you who didn’t catch the reference, Harley Quinn is currently a member of the Suicide Squad in the DC comics canon. Now that Shrapnel has been eliminated, perhaps Harley will get her time to shine; or other “Arrow” villains like Solomon Grundy or the Clock King.

Laurel is Sober
Now that Laurel has stopped all the boozing, she’s actually becoming really helpful again. Noticing that Oliver has been distancing himself from her sister, Laurel gives her ex some advice that will really pay off in the upcoming final battle. With Sarah still at Oliver’s side, there’s still a fighting chance for Team Arrow.

Deathstroke
Running out of options, Oliver meets with Amanda Waller asking her to help him track down Slade Wilson. Waller suggests contacting a new, world-renowned mercenary known as Deathstroke, who is actually, unbeknownst to her, also Slade Wilson.

If Slade is one of the deadliest mercenaries in the world, has superhuman strength, and has been planning his revenge for the past five years, then what are the odds that Oliver and his rag-tag band of heroes can overcome him?
