That’s a wrap on the Mrs. Carter Show world tour.
On Thursday, Beyoncé hung up her stilettos and put down her mic (at least for the moment) after closing out her epic world tour at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. Understandably, the diva got a bit emotional with the crowd as she thanked her Beyhive for supporting her on this “incredible tour.”
“If you all didn’t know tonight makes 132 shows, tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter show,” she said after requesting a spotlight on her so her fans could get a better view. “We started a year ago, and I want to say this has been such a journey, and the past year we’ve been through so much together — the Super Bowl, shooting the videos all of these shows.”
Speaking of her adorable daughter Blue Ivy, Queen Bey continued, “When I first started the tour, my baby wasn’t even walking yet, and now I just want you to know that I’m so lucky.”
Beyoncé then became so overwhelmed with emotion that her eyes filled with tears as she warned fans that she was “giving you all an ugly cry.” However, upon further review of the video, I conclude that there is no ugly cry in sight; in fact, she looks pretty much flawless.
“Thank you for allowing me to have a career I’ve had,” Beyoncé continued as “XO” played in the background. “And when I fall, you lift me up, and when I’m hungry, you feed me, and I just want to give you my light. I dedicate this song to you guys.”
Bey kicked off the tour on April 15, 2013, in Serbia. She then jet-setted around the world, stopping in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
