Miley Cyrus Mourns The Loss Of Her Favorite Pup Floyd

The ultimate dog lover is dealing with the worst kind of heartbreak. Miley Cyrus took to Twitter early on Wednesday (April 2) to share a series of devastating tweets announcing that one of her dogs, an Alaskan Klee Kai named Floyd, had died.

“I don’t wanna say it because I don’t want it to be real… But my precious baby Floyd has passed away,” she wrote. “I am broken.”

Cyrus went so far as to say she didn’t want to live without him. “I know I don’t mean it but I wish he would’ve taken me with him,” she tweeted. “This is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him?”

Smilers know what a hard hit this is for Cyrus. A true doggy devotee, Cyrus adopted Floyd in 2011 when he was just a pup. Fans were able to see and love as she frequently posted pics of Floyd cuddled up to her like a child.

The dog’s cameos in all things Bangerz brought “Pretty boy Floyd” in to the limelight. First, the pup was featured in her “We Can’t Stop” video. Then, during her iconic 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance, Cyrus threw party favors into the crowd: marshmallows with pictures of Floyd’s face plastered on them. Now, busy on her Bangerz tour, Cyrus keeps Floyd close by performing in front of a gigantic sculpture of the pup.

Floyd’s death, the cause of which is still not known, comes only 15 months after another pet of Cyrus’ passed. Lila, a Yorkshire Terrier, was killed in December of 2012, a day that Cyrus said was “the worst of her life.” The rest of her animals, including pit mix Mary Jane and Chihuahua mix Bean, remain at home in Los Angeles while Cyrus continues to tour.

Cyrus preemptively apologized to Boston, where the tour stops Wednesday (April 2), for her sadness.

“I’m sorry in advance if I am not myself tomorrow Boston,” she tweeted. “I will try my best to be my best.”
