Miley Cyrus Mourns ‘Precious Baby Floyd’ With A Tearful Performance

Miley Cyrus was “broken” by the loss of her dog Floyd, and to help her grieve, she dedicated a few tearful songs to him on Wednesday (April 2) in Boston.

“I’m sure you guys already know, but the reason I’m upset is my dog, who… I shouldn’t say he was my favorite, but he was my favorite, and he passed away,” she told the crowd at TD Garden during soundcheck. “I just want to do a song for him because we used to always listen to Fleetwood Mac together and it was his favorite song.”

She continued the performance with tearful renditions of Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” and Coldplay’s “The Scientist” before younger sister Noah walked out on stage to comfort her.

Earlier in the day, Cyrus was inconsolable on Twitter, writing, “I don’t wanna say it because I don’t want it to be real… But my precious baby Floyd has passed away. I am broken.”

The singer continued her sentiments throughout the day, tweeting an apology to her Boston fans before the show.

Fans messaged support for Cyrus and her pup throughout the day, trending the hashtag #RIPFloyd on Twitter.

Even after the rather emotional soundcheck, Cyrus was able to pull herself together enough to leave fans with another unforgettable Bangerz show.

“Nothing is different. Tonight, I want to be here with you guys.”
