Still grieving the death of her beloved Floyd , Miley Cyrus was hit with another setback on Monday when she was too sick to perform a show in Charlotte, N.C.
“Excruciating pain,” she tweeted late Sunday night hours before the show. Though a spokesperson for Cyrus could not be reached for comment at press time and her tweet didn’t go into details about what was causing her pain, according to E! News Miley is suffering from a bad case of the flu and is having major “throat and sinus” issues.
“Cyrus has been diagnosed with the flu and doctors have ordered her to rest,” promoter Live Nation announced in a press release. According to Billboard, a notice was posted at Time Warner Cable Arena a half-hour before for the show was supposed to start.
A rep told E! that while the Charlotte show has been postponed, the singer is still expected to take the stage in Raleigh, N.C. on Tuesday (April 8) night. She is also scheduled to perform in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. An unnamed source said that if Cyrus isn’t feeling better, though, the Raleigh show could also be put off.
In addition to battling illness, Cyrus has been laid low over the past week by the recent death of her beloved dog Floyd. During a show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn over the weekend she paid tribute to the Alaskan Klee Kai by dancing around a giant replica of him.
