Frank Ocean Might Skip Coachella, But He Has A Good Reason

Last month we got photo evidence that has been in the studio working hard on his sophomore album and this week we have confirmation that the project is almost complete. Hollarlujah!

Ocean is currently scheduled to perform at the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which kicks off this weekend, but he’s thinking about skipping that in order to get some more work done.

As usual the news came via a Tumblr post, this time in all caps.

“I’m opening up for outkast this summer at pemberton so i might skip on coachella to stay in the groove and finish this bitch…” he wrote. “i feel like they’re finna wild out tho. f–k it.. bring the helicopter out.

Aside from a few new tracks that Ocean previewed during his European tour, there has been no official music from the album.

Last year he told MTV News what fans might expect, though.

“When I was making the first [album] there were a group of artists that I listened to, just for inspiration and to absorb the energies,” he said. “It was a lot of Stevie Wonder, and this time it’s a lot of Beach Boys and Beatles and whatnot, so we’ll see how it trickles into the music and the final product. I can’t say much other than that.”
