Ben Affleck’s Batman Looks ‘Epic,’ But When Will We See Him?

Somewhere, in an undisclosed location, deep in the bowels of his underground lair, director Zack Snyder is staring at Ben Affleck‘s Batman costume — and you are not.

We’ll give you a minute to soak that in.

In an interview with Forbes, the man behind the Batman-fueled “Man of Steel” sequel spoke about the costumes for the upcoming superhero flick, revealing, “I’m actually staring at [a picture of the costumes] right now in my office. And it’s just massive on my wall in my office and it’s epic, let me tell you! And I’m like, ‘God, I want to send this to the Internet immediately.'”

Cue the Internet’s collective cries of “Snyder, send us that picture immediately.” But don’t expect Snyder to comply. The filmmaker said that the first sightings of Batman and Wonder Woman, played by Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, won’t come out until Warner Bros. is good and ready.

“I don’t even know the timeline,” he said. “Because the movie takes place so far from now, it’s hard to know exactly. That all gets tied to marketing and strategies for the movie. It’s not just a free-for-all, which I’d love it to be.”

Everyone would love for it to be a free-for-all, but for now, the waiting game surrounding the only DC Comics movie on the board continues. For what it’s worth, however, Snyder says he’s well-aware of how important it is to ace the first live-action meet-up between Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

“You do sort of sense the weight of the pop culture iconography jumping out of its skin when you’re standing there looking at the two of them and Wonder Woman,” he said. “It’s crazy. But it’s fun.”

Fun for you, Snyder. Crazy for everyone else on planet Earth.

The untitled “Man of Steel” sequel won’t fly into theaters until May 6, 2016. At the moment, it is scheduled to go head-to-head with Marvel’s third “Captain America” movie.

When do you think we’ll see Ben Affleck as Batman?
