Vin Diesel Posts Picture With Paul Walker’s Brothers

Filming for “Fast & Furious 7” is back on nearly five months after a fiery car crash ended Paul Walker‘s life, and the cast and crew are adjusting to finish the movie without one of its leading men.

Part of the fix for Walker’s absence is to use his two brothers, Caleb and Cody, as body doubles. Today, Vin Diesel posted a picture of himself with Walker’s two brothers on set to his Facebook page.

“When I heard the news, I left the production, grabbed a plane and took my family and Michelle [Rodriguez] back to LA… drove directly to his parent’s house…. His Father said, Paul loved you Vin,” Diesel wrote. “I awkwardly and nervously said, aw come on… then he said… you don’t have to get along every second to love each other… so true. P.s. After spending time with his biological brothers, I must say to the parents, you raised some great kids.”

Not long after Walker’s death, several ideas were floated as to how to carry on with “Fast & Furious 7” without Brian O’Conner. Walker had yet to film several key scenes, so a big reason behind the year-long delay was to give the production time to decide on the right course of action.

Hiring a body double and adding CGI to add Walker’s likeness was suggested early on, but it wasn’t until last week that the actor’s brothers were officially brought on as the men for the job.

Diesel and “Fast” co-star Jordana Brewster recently participated in a special tribute to Walker at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.

“Fast & Furious 7” opens in theaters on April 10, 2015.
