Being a “cat lady” is usually considered a bad thing: You are deemed a slathering, sad, single person, resigned to a life of twirling alone in your tiny apartment, holding your kitty aloft, gazing into its bright, bright eyes — eyes that will eventually glaze over as tiny teeth feast on your slowly decaying corpse.
Well, dudes, that stereotype is ripe for the disposing-of, as there are legions — legions, I tell you! — of hot, interesting famous people who cuddle with cats on the reg while somehow not spiraling into kitty-hair-covered insanity. Or being eaten.
Check out seven of our favorite cat ladies and gents below as the weekend stretches out in front of you like a feline in a sunbeam.
1. Taylor Swift
Taylor may not have found true love with a human yet, but that doesn’t mean she’s all alone. Oh no! She’s got her buddy Meredith, a way-adorable little ball of fluff, to keep her warm at night. No crying on the cold hard ground here, friends. Just kisses!
2. Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran’s adopted kitten Graham is not only adorable — he’s also smart. This kit has a Twitter account! Follow him for thoughts on Nietzschean philosophy and French cuisine — I mean, shiny things and noms.
3. Bethany Cosentino
Bethany from Best Coast’s cat Snacks not only enjoys indulging in his namesake, he also seems to dig wine. My kind of catman.
4. Robert De Niro
De Niro does not actually own Internet-famous kitty Lil Bub, but they do make the cutest of couples. Purr-fect, am I right?
5. Katy Perry
Katy Perry’s cat is named Kitty Purry and, get this, had a starring role in the lyric video for “Roar.” Like mother like cat-child.
6. Tyga
Every recording studio requires a tiger. Tyga knows this to be true.
7. French Montana
And French Montana knows that two tigers are always better than one.
