Coldplay Are Telling Ghost Stories One Week Early: Listen

Do you want to hear a ghost story? You’re in luck, Coldplay is streaming their new record, Ghost Stories, Monday (May 12) — a week before its official release.

If you hear on over to iTunes or iTunes radio now, you’ll be able to hear the band’s sixth studio album in full, complete with an animation of Mila Fürstová’s album artwork directed by Alasdair + Jock at Trunk Animation.

Since revealing their album title in March, the band has been giving us shimmering glimpses of the record — from the atmospheric “Midnight” to the Avicii-assisted “A Sky Full Of Stars.”

According to a recent interview with BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe in which the singer discussed his divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow for the first time, frontman Chris Martin said he penned the band’s upcoming record with love in mind — love and all its pitfalls.

“I think in life everyone needs to be broken in some way,” Martin said. “I think everyone in their life goes through challenges, whether it’s love or money, kids, or illness … You have to really not run away from that stuff. Life throws these colorful challenges at you.”

Ghost Stories drops on May 19.
