A Complete Guide To Tonight’s 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Special

The one thing about the Woodie Awards you can always expect is the unexpected. Sure, we plan, we lay things out, but there’s always something that happens that throws everyone for a loop. And Sunday night’s “2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Special” promises more of the same.

The half-hour mix-down of Thursday night’s 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas, will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT and we promise it’ll be worth your while to tune in. Here’s what you can expect:

The Performers
If there’s one thing the Woodies are known for it’s amazing live sets. And this year’s special has plenty on tap, including songs from Breaking Woodie winners the 1975, Did it My Way Woodie nominee Childish Gambino and Best Video nominee Iggy Azalea. Plus, well you never know who else might drop in and take the stage.

What We Know
The other thing we can guarantee is that Lil Wayne will rock the house when he shows up for a surprise performance of “A Milli,”
that brought the house to their feet. Weezy was on hand to pick up the night’s biggest honor for Drake.

The Winners
Aside from the performances, there was, of course, some lumber to be handed out, with Woodies going to big winner Drake (Woodie of the Year), Ed Sheeran (Performing Woodie), Did it My Way Woodie (Beyoncé), Best Collaboration Woodie (A$AP Rocky and Skrillex’s “Wild For the Night”) and Best Video Woodie (Chance The Rapper, “Everybody’s Something”).

“I played the Woodies back in 2012 and saw everyone win an award and was quite jealous, so it’s actually nice to win one,” said Sheeran. “Thanks to the fans for voting and thank to you to mtvU for creating the award and for giving it to me.”

Prepare To Diverge
Not only will you get amazing performances and surprises, but Sunday night’s show will also serve up the debut of a sneak peek of
from Tris and Four themselves, Shailene Woodley and Theo James.

Tune in to the “2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Special” at 8 p.m. ET/PT tonight to see surprise guest Lil Wayne
, the 1975, Iggy Azalea, Childish Gambino and more.
