While you were lounging at the pool or grilling up some dogs over Memorial Day weekend, Amanda Bynes was busy prepping lawsuits, threatening Rihanna and romancing fellow Nickelodeon child star Drake Bell.
The action came after the actress was arrested by the New York Police Department on Thursday for allegedly throwing bong out of her 36th floor apartment window following reports that she was smoking marijuana in the lobby of her building. That set off a series of odd incidents over the weekend that included her threat to file a lawsuit against the NYPD.
A run-down of Bynes’ latest wild weekend:
»Saturday: Bynes tweeted to her fans not to believe the “lies” about her arrest, claiming that officers were inappropriate during the incident. “I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me,” she wrote. “He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious. He slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment. Big deal. I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated.”
She added that her trip to a mental hospital before processing was “offensive” and that the police acted “creepy” and that they didn’t find any pot on her or any bong outside her window, which is why the judge released her on her own recognizance. An NYPD spokesperson said the department is investigating Bynes’ claims. Amanda also told her million-plus followers to “believe everything I say on Twitter!”
»Sunday: Bynes lashed out at Rihanna for some reason in a series of since-deleted tweets. “Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough,” she reportedly wrote. “No one wants to be your lover so you can call everyone and their mother.” Rihanna responded, “Ya see what happens when they cancel ‘Intervention?'”
Bynes hit back again, writing, “Unlike your fugly faced self I don’t do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met your ugly face in person. U aren’t pretty u know know!” On Monday, Bynes claimed that the tweets were fake. “I saw a bunch of mocked up tweets about me bashing Rihanna in my mentions,” she wrote “I’m followed by so many people that someone is always mocking up fake tweets so I feel the need to address them! Rihanna and I met and I’m sure we’ll be in a music video together one day!”
»Monday: In addition to denying the Rihanna tweets, Byne’s extra-long Memorial Day missive included claims that she’s allergic to marijuana and alcohol, but smokes tobacco. “Why does Rihanna smoke weed and not get in trouble for it but I smoke tobacco and people think I’m on drugs?” she wrote. “I refuse to be treated like someone I’m not, which is why I fought for myself and am suing everyone involved. I don’t need to go to rehab. There is never a drug or alcohol in my system! I’m sick of all the lies!” She said her lawyer is going to court this week to set the record straight, noting, “Thankfully I’m an educated multi-millionaire who knows better than to speak to perverted unjust cops without my lawyer.”
She also claimed she was getting in shape, getting a nose job and looking forward to a career as a rapper. Bynes got some support from rapper Waka Flocka Flame, who told her to keep her head up, writing, “@AmandaBynes when people hate and the media lies … that means you popping.”
»Tuesday: After dissing rapper Drake’s looks in the past, Amanda turned her attention to another Drake on Monday evening, hitting up fellow former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell with the flirtatious tweet, “@DrakeBell ily bro!” Bell hit her back a short time later, tweeting early Tuesday, “@AmandaBynes what’s going on girl!?!”
