Ariana Grande is no stranger to being on the cover of a magazine. For example, she’s currently on the cover of Seventeen, showing off her selfie skills in a number of back-to-school looks. Marie Claire just released their October cover, which stars Ariana, looking decidedly grown-up—she looks more ready for a New Year’s Eve party at the ~clurrb~ than homeroom, y’know?

While she’s experimented with two new hairstyles in the past week (including entirely, 100% down!!!), Ariana is back to her trademark ’do on the October cover. Marie Claire obviously knows that Arianators and the world at large are obsessed with her hair—it’s the first thing mentioned in the story’s coverlines.

Ariana credits her hair with helping people differentiate between actual, IRL Ariana Grande and Cat Valentine, the character she played on Nickelodeon for five years. She tells MC, “I dyed my hair back to brown. I made out with a rapper in the video. I made the point I wanted to make.” Yeah, that’ll prob do it.

While the photos released by Marie Claire feature Ariana in a number of sparkly dresses, the behind-the-scenes videos preview her other looks, which include a patent-leather trench coat and a fuzzy orange sweater.
