Taylor Swift ‘Kind Of’ Doesn’t Mind Your Criticism Because Pain ‘Equals Grammys’

by 8 mins ago

She conquered country and now Taylor Swift has her sights set on pop, and so far, she’s totally killing the game.

Taylor released her catchy first single, “Shake It Off,” off her upcoming album 1989, which officially marks her complete transformation from a country artist to a pop star.

As any Swiftie knows, Taylor has been slowly transitioning over the years, but still remained firm in her country roots. When it came time to write her fifth album, there was no denying the direction she was going in.

“As a songwriter I tried to stay really open to intuition and inspiration and impulses and I knew I needed to make this album the way it has turned out I knew I wanted it to be different than every album that I’ve done before,” Taylor said during an appearance on the French Canadian television show Tout le Monde en Parle recently. “And out of respect for the country music community, who I love and I adore, I felt it was best to be honest with them about what the album was and just be very very truthful about the fact that it is a pop album.”

But just because she isn’t considering herself a country artist with this album, that doesn’t mean she isn’t going to stop doing the one thing she loves the most about the genre, and that is telling stories with her music.

Taylor has written about love, loss and especially heartbreak, which have earned her all ...

Who’s The Girl Behind One Direction’s ‘Steal My Girl’? Songwriter Reveals All

by 1 min ago

One Direction are back with a new sound, a new song, but the same swoon-worthy lyrics that have Directioners melting at their feet.

On Monday, the guys officially released “Steal My Girl,” the first single off their upcoming album Four, an up-beat, classic-rock vibe of a song that has all the girls trying to figure out exactly who that “queen since we were 16″ really is.

MTV News caught up with co-writer Julian Bunetta, who has helped pen 1D’s “Best Song Ever” and “You & I,” and he revealed that there is actually more than one girl who inspired the track.

“There are a few meanings behind it…there is the one that speaks to the bigger picture of them and their fans, and there is the one that speaks to the actual person in your life, and that was very intentional,” he said. “It’s based on everybody’s experience, you have six guys in a room that have all been in love before and we all have jealously, some are better at hiding it then others, but we don’t like when people hit on our girlfriends.”

He continued, “But it was more of a joyous thing, it just speaks to how happy you are with this person if you have something great everyone is going to try and take it from you. And that also speaks to the fan base, I think, cause of other groups…there are a lot of layers.”

One Direction’s ‘Steal My Girl’ Is Giving Directioners And Moms ‘Fangirl Attacks’

by 14 mins ago

By now, you’ve listened to One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” no less than 50 times, memorized each and every lyric and possibly fainted over the excitement that the guys have released their first single off their fourth album.

Basically, Monday (September 29) was a big day.

Directioners are absolutely loving the guys’ “feel good” 80′s vibe of a song, which has us all wishing that we were their “queen since we were 16,” but that’s OK because “we dream the same dreams.” Am I right?

Fans instantly took to Twitter to share their reactions of the Four track, with many saying it’s positively “perfect,” while others have developed a severe addiction.

Unfortunately for many teachers around the world, the song was released during school hours, meaning that pretty much no one was concentrating on math problems and history lessons.

Naturally, fans are freaking out over Zayns high note.

And moms are pretty much obsessed too.

by 16 mins ago

They say actions speak louder than words, and in the case of Ariana Grande and Big Sean, their actions are saying that they’re very much a couple.

BigGrande, as we like to call them, were spotted once again holding hands as they left the “Saturday Night Live” afterparty at New York’s Tavern on the Green early Sunday morning.

Ariana, who performed “Break Free” and “Love Me Harder” with The Weekend on the season premiere of the show, was seen still rocking the cat ears and crop-top skirt ensemble from her performance, with Big Sean looking much more casual in a camo shirt and backwards hat.

The two, who have “great chemistry” have collaborated twice in the past, on Ari’s “Best Mistake” and “Right There,” first sparked relationship rumors when they were caught on camera holding hands backstage at the VMAs. Recently, Big Sean opened up to MTV News about Grande and their undeniable chemistry.

“Me and her make a lot of music together and the chemistry between me and her when we work is great,” he told us. “We got more in the works too. I feel like her voice is crazy, [just] that that big voice comes out of her is insane.”

He also opened up to Ryan Seacrest about Grande, this time more directly addressing rumors about his love life.

“I like to keep my personal life ...

Will Smith, Here’s The Perfect Birthday Present: Ed Sheeran Rapping The ‘Fresh Prince’ Theme Song

by 39 mins ago

We know you all are out there ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’ because today is a day of celebration: It’s Will Smith’s birthday.

The rapper-turned-TV-star and blockbuster actor celebrated his 46 birthday today, (September 25) and to mark this momentous occasion we’ve been all rapping the “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” theme song, pretty much all day. But, we aren’t the only ones probably celebrating in that way, because we guess that Ed Sheeran might be doing the same.

See, Ed’s a big fan of Will, and his TV show, so much so, that he actually has the words “Prince” in colorful green block letters tattooed on his arm.

ed

“I played in Philadelphia and I was on tour with my friends, the Rizzle Kicks, who were my opening act,” Ed told us back in 2013 adding that he actually got the tattoo in Philly. “And I got ‘Prince,’ Jordan got ‘Fresh’ on his leg, and Harley got on his arm ‘on the playground where I spent most of my days.’ ”

And if you are wondering if Sheeran really is a legitimate “Fresh Prince” fan, he proved it by rapping the entire theme song of the show, and unsurprisingly, never missed a beat. Go to the 1:00 mark to see Ed in action.

Not Another Celebrity Break-Up: Jason Derulo And Jordin Sparks Reportedly Call It Quits

by 10 mins ago

My heart can’t handle all these celebrity break-ups.

First Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose are over and now Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks, have reportedly called it quits after nearly three years of dating.

Multiple sources confirmed to E! News that the break-up was mutual and that “they still care very deeply for each other.” The break up may come as even more of a shock to fans since just last month the two seemed happy, in love and color coordinated at the 2014 Video Music Awards.

Both Jordin and Jason have yet to comment on the reported break-up, but Jordin—who still has a photo of her and Jason as a banner pic on Twitter—did tweet to her fans that she recently wrote the “saddest song” of her life.

The couple have been very open about their relationship since they made it publically official back in 2012. The two often walk red carpets together, took adorable selfies, sang songs about and with each other, and were recently featured in a fall fashion spread for US Weekly.

Many thought they were going to take their relationship to the next step after Jason released the song, “Marry Me,” off his recent Talk Dirty album, which he wrote just for his girlfriend, who appeared in the video.

“There is a lot of pressure, and there was a lot of pressure before the song,” Jason said of being engaged to MTV ...

Danity Kane Have Us Feeling The ‘Rhythm Of Love’ On New Single: Listen

by 21 mins ago

Seriously, you best be getting that first aid kit handy, because all this Danity Kane news in one day is leaving me damaged…in a good way.

After Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex announced that they would be releasing their comeback album, DK3 on October 28, they dropped another bomb on all their DK fans in the form of a pure pop perfection hit of a song, “Rhythm of Love.”

Fans are probably breathing a sigh of relief: Dawn Richards vocals appear on the Stereotypes-produced track. After the trio’s nasty split caused by a reported physical fight between Dawn and Aubrey, many questioned whether Dawn’s voice would remain on the album.

The upbeat dance song, which follows their first comeback single, “Lemonade,” is all about taking a risk and falling in love. The girls reportedly sang the song while on their reunion tour last spring, after member Aundrea Fimbres left the group and before calling it quits in the beginning of August.

Danity Kane Announce Post Break-Up Album, Fans Can’t Stop Crying

by 31 mins ago

Big Danity Kane news! No, they are not getting back together (sad face), but they are releasing that brand-new album we waited desperately for ever since they announced their comeback.

That’s right, Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex announced that their new album, DK3, will be hitting stores October 28.

“What’s up, DK fans. I just want to let you know that I love you and miss you so much, and because you guys never gave up on us, Shannon and I haven’t given up on you,” Aubrey says in an Instagram video before Shannon adds the album release date. The album goes up for pre-sale Friday at midnight.

DK fans clearly noticed that Dawn Richard was missing from the video. Dawn and Aubrey reportedly got into a physical altercation after she supposedly found out that Aubrey and Shannon had recorded songs behind her back. Aubrey filed a battery report against Dawn, and several days later announced the bands demise claiming that an “ethical and moral line has been crossed.”

Dawn has yet to comment on the album, but that doesn’t mean the fans haven’t been full on freaking out and shedding a lot of tears over the news.

The DK3 album has been in the works for quite some time. After reuniting at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, the group released their lead single, “Lemonade,” and embarked on the No Filter tour back in May. Before they hit the road, member Aundrea Fimbres ...

Hilary Duff Gets Lovestruck In ‘All About You’ Video

by 33 mins ago

Hilary Duff is clearly a true believer of love at first sight.

The singer has released her video for her folky pop song, “All About You,” which takes viewers on a ride as Hilary tries to find a mystery man that she sees in a coffee shop.

As Hilary told us, there is certainly a “bit of a love story,” as the pop star opens the video snapping pictures of a cute guy, sending them to her friends, then finding his lost record at the shop, which he leaves behind, and makes it her mission to return it to his possession.

In between some not so “super sexy-time dancing,” (although we beg to differ), Hilary gathers her girlfriends as they to help find her man, which they do, at a party at the LA river.

“The choreography was actually pretty easy, but it was a lot of rehearsals and I wanted to be so particular because I’m not, like, a dancer and I didn’t want to be, like, super sexy-time dancing,” Hilary told MTV News at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. “I wanted something different about it that was more me. The choreographers were amazing and came up with a cool line dance.”

Between the dance moves, the super catchy song and the fact that she seems to be having the best time ever, it definitely makes us all about Hilary and all about this video.

Fences ‘Almost Cried’ When He Heard Macklemore’s Verses On ‘Arrows’

by 2 mins ago

Macklemore may be getting “back to the basics” on his own music, but when he teamed up with Fences for “Arrows,” his verse was anything but basic.

The “Thrift Shop” rapper hooked up with his old friend, Seattle artist Chris Mansfield (a.k.a. Fences), for the collaboration, which was produced by Ryan Lewis. It didn’t seem like Chris, who co-wrote the track “Ten Thousand Hours” for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ debut album, The Heist, had to do much convincing to get the hip-hop star to lend him a couple verses — all it took was a simple phone call.

“I called him on my cell phone — I think you were coming back from a water park or something — and he said ‘yeah,’” Fences said backstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. “So, we did it.”

And the rest is history. Macklemore gets open and honest on his verses on the song, rapping about the downfalls of fame and getting “blinded by this limelight.”

“I was really nervous,” Fences said about hearing Macklemore’s raps for the first time. “And I put my computer by my window in Brooklyn and I lit a cigarette and I listened all nervous, and I was like, ‘Oh my god’ — I almost cried. It was so good because he said a lot of things, powerful stuff.”

And it doesn’t look like Macklemore, who wrote the first verse of the song back in December of last year, has ...
