It’s time to bid farewell to an icon: Casey Kasem has died.
The radio host, best known for counting down the hits for listeners across the USA via his show “American Top 40,” passed away today at the age of 82. Kasem’s daughter Kerri announced his death via her Facebook page this morning.
Kasem had been battling dementia, and his death comes on the heels of turmoil between his children Mike, Kerri and Julie (from his marriage to first wife Linda Myers) and their stepmother — Casey’s second wife, Jean Kasem.
Our thoughts are with Kasem’s family on this very sad Father’s Day – we’ll never forget the voice that graced airwaves, from his radio show to his role as Shaggy on Scooby-Doo to his awesome Ghostbusters cameo.
