Rita Ora and Calvin Harris are no longer an item.

The producer confirmed their breakup on Twitter, saying “To address speculation – myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best.”

The couple — who began dating in May of last year — were not only linked romantically, but professionally as well. He produced “I Will Never Let You Down,” the lead single off her upcoming sophomore album.

While Rita told Elle in April that the “Feel So Close” producer was her first love, she admitted late last month that their long-distance relationship was far from easy.

“I’m not a fan of long distance relationships. If you had a choice, you want that person with you. It makes me pretty sad. But you work with what you’ve got,” she told The Mirror. “You have to fly each other out, you just have to. Sometimes you fly for 20 hours, sometimes you only fly for five hours. It’s an effort, but you make it work.

Given that Lorde blasted Complex for throwing Iggy Azalea “under the bus” with a less-than-complimentary review earlier this year — and the fact that Iggy responded with a resounding “#GoGirl” — it seemed for a while that the two singers had each other’s backs.

But in a new Billboard cover story, the rapper took the time to address one problem she has with the 17-year-old’s career: Her tribute to Nirvana and the late Kurt Cobain at the Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony — one that saw Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic performing with not only the “Royals” singer, but Joan Jett, Kim Gordon and St. Vincent.

But Iggy had a bit of an issue with the fact that Lorde made the cut for the tribute, which took place 20 years after Cobain’s death.

“Nothing against her, but I think when you’re doing a tribute to someone that’s dead, generally it should be the person’s peer,” she told Billboard. “Lorde is not Kurt Cobain’s peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don’t think it’s appropriate.”

It’s worth noting that as St. Vincent is only 31 years old, she probably wasn’t all that close to Cobain, either.

Lorde has yet to respond to Iggy’s comments, but given that she’s no stranger to a little drama, we’re sure she’ll have something to say.

The Beasties Boys have been award $1.7 million in a copyright case against Monster Energy after the company admitted it used the group’s music in a promotional video without licensing it.

A Manhattan jury delivered the verdict on Thursday (June 5), after eight days of trials and nearly two years after the suit was filed by the Brooklyn-bred group.

Mike D and Ad-Rock sued for copyright infringement back in August of 2012, after Monster used a mix of several Beastie Boys classic in a video promoting a snowboarding competition. The video concluded with the words “RIP MCA” to honor the late Adam “MCA” Yauch — which, according to Time, went against Yauch’s will, which stated his name and likeness were not to be used for promotional purposes.

They had originally requested more than $2 million, according to Reuters, while Monster insisted on $125,000.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a burglary at Miley Cyrus’ home, in which her $102,000 Maserati was stolen.

Los Angeles police arrested a man and a woman, both between the ages of 20 and 25, on Thursday (June 5), while they were walking down a street in North Hollywood, according to The Los Angeles Times. Police also seized their vehicle, where they found several items they believed to be stolen — but it had not been determined whether the items were connected to the robbery at Miley’s home.

They have not released the suspects’ names.

Police believe a man and a woman scaled a fence to break into Miley’s North Hollywood home on Friday. Her 2014 Maserati Quattroporte was found by police on Monday.

Way back in 2012, when he was still new to the pop-music scene, Austin Mahone told MTV News he was “flattered” to be compared to Justin Bieber. After all, not that many people knew who the fresh-faced singer from San Antonio, Texas, was — so he admitted that being compared to the superstar was “not that bad of a thing.”

But now — with a fanbase that has grown by the millions and a handful of ubiquitous tracks under his belt — it’s all starting to get on his nerves. (Surely, Bieber’s bout of legal troubles and racist video leaks don’t have him welcoming the comparisons, either.)

“I can kind of see where they’re coming from, but at the same time, it’s kind of obnoxious,” he told the Associated Press on Thursday (June 5).

Granted, there are some striking similarities between the two: Both rose to fame all on social media and YouTube, both seem to be constantly surrounded by a throng of screaming female fans. And then there’s the hair, of course. But according to Mahone, the similarities end there.

“They see a young kid who sings and dances and…they’re like, `Oh, another Justin Bieber.’ Like, you don’t even know,” he said. “You don’t know me. You don’t know my music. You’re just making assumptions.”

Turns out, President Barack Obama is an elliptical guy.

That’s what we learned on Wednesday (June 4), when a video leaked of the POTUS working out at a gym at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel. He’s currently in Poland to meet with Ukrainian President-elect Petro Poroshenko, but he managed to sneak in time to pump some iron and do an impressive series of squats and leg raises.

There’s no telling who the bold hotel guest was who recorded the video, which reportedly first appeared on Fakt, but whoever it is, is one stealthy documentarian, as we can see our dear POTUS in every stage of his workout.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan confirmed the validity of the video, but didn’t seem concerned for Obama’s safety, as Secret Service agents were “in proximity” to Obama during the workout. He pointed out that the video is “no different than if the President visited a restaurant off the record and other diners took pictures of him.”

“Hotel guests were not asked to leave the gym during this off-the-record movement, nor were they asked to refrain from taking pictures,” he said in a statement.

When a special-edition cover of Elle U.K. featuring Grammy-winning producer Pharrell started to make the rounds, the Internet wondered: Did he really think it was a good idea to “dress up” in a Native American headdress?

Now, looking back, Pharrell doesn’t think it was. The super-producer issued a formal apology on Wednesday (June 4), just as the cover started generating serious backlash on Twitter and as the hashtag #notHappy — a spin on his chart-topping hit — went viral.

“I respect and honour every kind of race, background and culture,” he said in a statement to Buzzfeed. “I am genuinely sorry.”

According to India Country Today Media Network, the original post on Elle‘s website read, “We persuaded ELLE Style Award winner Pharrell to trade his Vivienne Westwood mountie hat for a native American feather headdress in his best ever shoot.”

They have now updated it to read, “Continuing our tradition of featuring cult male icons on collector’s edition covers we persuaded ELLE Style Award winner Pharrell to collaborate with us on his best ever shoot.”

Gwar frontman David Brockie’s death this March was caused by an accidental heroin overdose, the Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office has announced.

Arkuie Williams of the state’s medical examiner’s office confirmed to Reuters on Tuesday (June 3) that the 50-year-old died of “acute heroin toxicity and the manner of death is accident.”

The singer was found dead in his Richmond, Virginia, home by his roommate on March 23.

Brockie was one of the founding members of the costumed heavy-metal group in 1984, and stuck with the group for 30 years and thirteen albums as the main creative voice. He was known among his fans as his onstage alter-ego Oderus Urungus, an extraterrestrial warrior, who, like the others, was determined to bring humanity to a violent end. The band was known for their theatrical and often gruesome shows, ones that included elaborate costumes like Brockie’s “meat masks” and monsters that terrorized the audience.

Despite being known for their over-the-top shows, the band got two Grammy nods in their 30-year run — one nomination for Best Metal Performance in 1995 and another for Best Long Form Music Video in 1993.

Judging from her several carefree — and a few straight-up strange — selfies over the past 12 hours, Miley Cyrus really didn’t seem all that concerned when news broke on Monday (June 2) that two people reportedly broke into her Los Angeles home and stole jewelry and her Maserati.

But whether she’s paying attention or not, her 2014 Maserati Quattroporte — which is valued at $102,000 — has been found.

LAPD officers found the car on a street in Simi Valley on Monday, according to The Los Angeles Times. Authorities believe a man and a woman hopped the fence and broke into Miley’s home on Friday. (Miley’s been away on her Bangerz Tour… obviously.)

Miley had yet to comment on the news by press time, but she was blowing up Instagram all day long.
