From Beyoncé’s all-caps “FEMINIST” backdrop at the 2014 VMAs to Taylor Swift’s realization that she’s been “taking a feminist stance” for a while, the past month has been pretty exciting for those who like their feminism planted firmly in their pop culture.

And now, Joseph Gordon-Levitt — no stranger to public discussions of the other “F” word himself — has chimed in with a contribution of his own.

In a new YouTube video, the “Sin City” actor announces a collaborative project for his site, HitRecord, where literally anyone who wants to can upload a video of her or himself talking about their relationship with the word “feminism.”

“To me, it just means that your gender doesn’t have to define who you are, that you can be whatever you want to be, whoever you want to be, regardless of your gender,” Gordon-Levitt explains, clarifying his own stance on feminism for the purposes of the announcement.

However, he understands that as a man he can’t really tell a woman how she should or should not feel about the word. “It should be up to the woman to decide,” he says.

“It’s complicated,” JGL says of the entire discussion, before adding that’s it’s still totally one worth having. Couldn’t agree more, dude. Who else wants to jump in?

Kiesza slows things down considerably on her new song, which, despite the title, really isn’t a “Bad Thing” for her to do at all.

“Danger when you make me ‘Ooooo,’” the “Hideaway” singer moans about some lover lovah she just can’t keep her hands off of — even though she probably should — before finally concluding: “But I think that’s a good thing.”

The haunting, Pop/R&B track comes to us from Kiesza’s upcoming debut album, Sound Of A Woman, which is expected to drop on October 21. Along with an acoustic version of breakout single “Hideaway,” the 14-track LP will also include “Losin’ My Mind,” a collaboration with Mick Jenkins that K debuted live in New York City back in July.

And that’s a good thing.

Earlier this week, the world gained one more shred of evidence that Twitter can, in fact, be used for good when one Philadelphia-area user saw something wrong — a group of assailants who had evaded justice after attacking two gay men in his city — and set about righting it.

Forget every unfair slight ever wrought upon you — Aubrey Plaza has been cast as the voice of Grumpy Cat in an upcoming TV movie, and nothing can hurt you now.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Parks And Recreation” actress has been tapped to play one of the greatest cats who ever internet’d in “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.”

Looks like Aubrey’s already getting into the Christmas spirit, Grumpy Cat-style.

The flick — which THR says is “about a pet-store cat that is perpetually overlooked and the 12-year-old girl, Chrystal, who can communicate with her” — will premiere November 29 on Lifetime.
