‘Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’: Watch The Trailer Now

by 05/08/14

It doesn’t hit theaters until October 10, but there’s no reason we can’t start a “Bad Day” early.

That’s right, the first look at “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” is here. Much like the classic children’s book of the same name, written by Judith Viorst, the movie’s events center around a kid named Alexander (Ed Oxenbould), who is basically a bummer magnet.

After he has a not-great day and wishes his family understood his woes (updated to include baby’s first doctored photo/texting scandal), his family (Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner and more) also feels the pain. Bella Thorne plays Alexander’s older brother’s girlfriend, and according to the trailer, has an ideal posterior.

Crocodiles, car accidents and a baby drawing all over its face lurk within the trailer, above.

Jennifer Lawrence Doesn’t Want To ‘Constantly Be A GIF’…In GIFs

by 05/08/14

Jennifer Lawrence, whom you might know from her work in “The Hunger Games” franchise, the “X-Men” movies, “Silver Linings Playbook,” a whole roster of other films or the heart-shaped magazine cutout you have taped to the inside of your locker (don’t deny it), is profiled in the newest issue of Marie Claire magazine.

Much like any time the Oscar winner opens her mouth in the presence of a recording device, there were some truly notable quotables. Lawrence opened up about her relationship with “X-Men” co-star Nicholas Hoult, her health, her religious upbringing and more. Most memorable, however, was her admitting to having an internal monologue advising herself, “You don’t want to constantly be a GIF.”

We know what she means, but, with all apologies to Lawrence, she’s just super GIFfable. It’s a blessing and a curse, JLaw. So, of course, we couldn’t resist giffing our favorite quotes from the article. We can’t help it if she has a serious case of rubberface, and we’re super into it.

Advice to herself, Part 1: “‘You need to calm the f–k down.’”

Advice to herself, Part 2: “‘You don’t want to constantly be a GIF.’”

On boyfriend Nicholas Hoult: “Looks can go pretty far. Nobody can deny a beautiful face. Fortunately, I have one. Oh, no! I mean my boyfriend! I didn’t mean my face! Oh, my God! I meant I’m with somebody who has a beautiful face.”

On public opinion: “Honestly, I’m just doing my best. But if ...

Look At Neil Patrick Harris Almost Naked On The Cover of Rolling Stone

by 05/07/14

Neil Patrick Harris is a gentleman both talented and charming. He’s a father and husband, he stars in the Broadway revival of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” he provided many of the highlights of the nine seasons of “How I Met Your Mother,” he hosted the Tonys to great result four times and has accomplished many more stunning feats of entertainment and humanity.

That said, he’s smokin’ hot. And he posed basically naked on the cover of Rolling Stone, thereby showcasing the majority of that smokin’ hot bod. Just get used to the applause you hear in the distance — we won’t stop appreciating this any time soon.

So shut your door, turn on some James Blunt and spend a little time appreciating this latest piece of art that Neil Patrick Harris has bestowed upon the earth.

The issue, which also features an interview with Harris (and more pictures, we assume), hits stands May 9.

Let’s Look At The Poster For ‘Let’s Be Cops’

by 05/07/14

You know what’s cool? Jake Johnson‘s face, that’s what. You know what could make Jake Johnson’s face look even cooler? Aviator sunglasses. Same goes for the visage of Damon Wayans Jr. Cool guys, even cooler with sunglasses on.

By this logic, the just-released poster for “Let’s Be Cops,” which co-stars Johnson and Wayans, must be the coolest movie poster ever. Check it out below, via JoBlo, which debuted the poster.

The movie follows two buddies, played by Johnson and Wayans, who decide to, well, be cops after an ill-thought-out Halloween costume backfires on them. Shenanigans ensue.

“Let’s Be Cops” hits theaters August 13.

The Adorable Easter Egg You Missed In Last Night’s ‘Mindy Project’ Finale

by 05/07/14

Now that we’ve had sufficient time to slow our heart rates in the aftermath of the season 2 finale of “The Mindy Project,” it’s time to tone down the squealing and take a closer look at the episode, “Danny and Mindy.”

Mindy Kaling, who is both the creator and star of the series, is a noted Nora Ephron fanatic. That should come as no surprise to anyone who watched last night’s episode, which may have been more accurately titled “When Harry Met You’ve Got Catfished In Seattle.” When she started out writing, Kaling even adopted the pen name Mindy Ephron as an homage to the writer, who was responsible not only for funny and fantastic essays, but also the endlessly quotable movies Kaling — and her on-screen alter ego — love so much, such as “Sleepless In Seattle,” “When Harry Met Sally” and “You’ve Got Mail.”

To woo Mindy and win her back on “The Mindy Project,” fellow doctor Danny (Chris Messina) takes Mindy to “any place that Meg Ryan had ever laugh-cried.” (“And, boy, was it white,” he adds in voice-over.) He also paraphrases the most famous line from “When Harry Met Sally,” meets Mindy at the top of the Empire State Building in a grand romantic gesture, visits Mindy when she’s sick in bed a la “You’ve Got Mail” and more little nods noticed elsewhere on the webosphere.

There’s one reference that seemed to escape everyone’s eye, however, to the point where Kaling herself had to point it out on Instagram: Instead ...

Jennifer Lawrence Filming ‘Mockingjay’ In Paris — But What Scene?

by 05/07/14

Warning: Spoilers and speculation for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” (parts 1 and 2) ahead.

Jennifer Lawrence was spotted filming on the Paris set of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” today, wearing a blue hooded cloak as well as her usual dazzling personality and pleasing face.

The first and second parts of “Mockingjay,” the final chapters to the “Hunger Games” saga, are being filmed concurrently, so we’re off to the races as to what part, exactly, she may be filming.

On the one hand, a bright blue hooded puffer coat is not the most incognito of outfits, hood up or down. Like, hey, Katniss, we can see you. You’re right there. So perhaps Katniss and Co. are in District 13, the nuked-out secret hideout the rebels call home base. No need to go low-profile when you’re the Mockingjay in the nest, right? Plus, the ground looks dirty, so there’s that.

Jennifer Lawrence wears a blue cloak on the set of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' in Paris

But then again, the attire of those around Lawrence makes us think that this could be the part of the story where Katniss is fighting her way through the streets of the Capitol. Look at those braids and bright colors! Could these be the fanciest folks in Panem peeling off to join Katniss? If there’s going to be a war in the Capitol, you can bet your stylish buttons ...

by 05/07/14

Charlize Theron is hosting “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, May 10, and has now undergone that first rite of emcee passage: her promo segments are here.

Theron joined cast member Taran Killam to hype her big night out with musical guests The Black Keys. Watch her record a new voicemail message for Killam (we bet he really can bench a lot), teach a master class in a little something she calls “model face” and possibly get murdered by Aidy Bryant.

Theron’s new movie, “A Million Ways To Die In the West,” hits theaters May 30.

‘Fault In Our Stars’ Director Josh Boone To Take ‘The Stand’

by 05/06/14

It looks like the rumors that surfaced in late February are true: Josh Boone, who will soon be mobbed by hordes of sobbing teens when “The Fault in Our Stars” debuts on June 6, will indeed direct the remake of “The Stand.”

While chatting with MTV News about the upcoming “Fault,” Boone casually mentioned the unconfirmed news.

“The emotional connection that they have to that book ["Fault"] is so deep I think a lot about,” Boone said. “The reason I can understand that sort of fandom is when I was their age, I loved Stephen King with all of my heart. I wrote him letters when i was a kid, he wrote me back, and sent me some signed books. I put him in my first movie and now I’m adapting and directing ‘The Stand’ for Warner Bros.

“When I was a kid, his books meant that much to me, so I totally understand the obsession. you have things that root themselves in you. The things that you love as a kid are the hardest to shake. You will always love them.”

That’s not all. In addition to the news that Boone is writing and directing the movie, it looks like we may have the first — albeit vague — bit of casting for the flick as well.

While describing his affection for actor Nat Wolff, who was a centerpiece of Boone’s “Stuck In Love” and takes up a supporting role in “Fault” with great gusto as the blind Isaac, Boone revealed that this would ...

Emma Stone Showed Up To The Met Ball As A ‘Frozen’ Princess

by 05/06/14

It’s not a secret that we’re more than a little obsessed with one Emma Stone. And why wouldn’t we be? Girlfriend totally killed a Blues Traveler song while playing with Jimmy Fallon, let real-life boyfriend Andrew Garfield literally gnaw on her chin on national TV on “Saturday Night Live” last weekend and she’s brought the sass to the class party in both “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ as Gwen Stacy.

It’s a wonder that she can still find ways to amaze and delight us, but every time we think, “Man, there’s nothing Emma Stone could do to make us love her more,” her spider adorable-sense tingles and she goes and does something else so fabulous that we can’t help but feel our hearts swell.

All this is to say: Emma, we’re so into your Met Ball look, and we’re pretty sure you’re a Disney princess. Like, for real. In real life. Really.

Specifically, Princess Elsa from “Frozen.”

The similarities are undeniable:

emmastonefrozen

That partially undone braid just screams, “IDGAF, have some ice.”

Emma Stone

That ice castle is gonna pop up out of the ground any second now.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield

She doesn’t need a prince, but we wouldn’t say no to Andrew Garfield either.

Emma Stone

The Green Goblin cold never bothered her anyway.

There were some pretty fierce looks to be had at last night’s gala for the Met Costume Institute, the annual event better known as the Met Ball, and better-better known as one of the biggest fashion nights of the year.

Kirsten Dunst, who has earned lifetime immunity from snark after bringing us the masterpiece known as “Bring It On” in 2000, made the choice to wear a floor-length black Rodarte creation, featuring none other than the Death Star. Yes, from “Star Wars.” That Death Star.

Kirsten Dunst

A real thing that happened!

To prove that this isn’t a photoshopped prank, here’s Kirsten Dunst wearing the same dress and making a totally different face.
