‘The Simpsons’ Makeup Line Makes Us Something Something

by 1 min ago

The matriarch of “The Simpsons” isn’t exactly known as a makeup maven — because she’s a low-maintenance sort of lady, and also possibly because it’s hard to put on mascara when you have only eight eyelashes in total — but as the new MAC Simpsons Collection shows, she makes one heck of a cosmetic muse.

The special edition makeup line is stamped with Marge’s likeness, and includes everything from eyeshadow palettes (highlight: a deep cobalt “Beehive Blue”) to blush to a crazy-colored lip gloss collection. If you want the yellow pucker of a true Springfield native, a gloss in Nacho Cheese Explosion should get you on your way; however, the deep pink of Itchy & Scratchy & Sexy is quite the seductive shade, too. Also available: nail stickers featuring the show’s nuclear family, and a set of false eyelashes that mimic Marge’s signature staggered look.

A sneak peek pic of some of the makeup is already making its way around Twitter, but if you want to see the line in its entirety, beautygeeks has a full preview.

Those who want to go Simpsonian glam this month will have to head to San Diego Comic Con, where the line will be on sale July 26 only at the MAC Gaslamp store, 234 Fifth Avenue. (And yes, artists will be on hand to give desirous parties their very own “Marge makeover.)

If you can’t make it to Comic Con, don’t worry: the collection will get a wider distribution later this summer, becoming available ...

‘Young Ones’ Trailer Has Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, And The Drought Apocalypse

by 20 mins ago

Beware, you guys: the new trailer for “Young Ones” is going to make you thirsty, and not just because Nicholas Hoult is in it, strutting around with smudges of super-sexy apocalypse dust accentuating his cheekbones just so. The film, which screened at Cannes in May and is now slated for theatrical release in the fall, depicts the struggle of future humans trying to live in the parched desolation of an endless drought.

Nicholas Hoult stars as a young man trying to take the land of a struggling family, a family which includes a daughter (Elle Fanning) with whom he is apparently in love with… Which is bound to make things awkward. Also, robots!

Billed as a dystopian Western, “Young Ones” promises to spice up its shootouts with some neat sci-fi twists; we’re particularly curious about the part where Elle appears trailing a bunch of surgically-attached (?) wires from some kind of port in her spine.

“Young Ones” will be in theaters this October.

Ryan Gosling Says ‘Hey Girl’ To His Potential Daughter

by 20 mins ago

Although we’re still amassing crying gifs to convey our feelings about the impending Gosling-Mendes progeny, it is nevertheless not lost on the MTV staff that this news equals the perfect chance to take the Ryan Gosling memery to a whole new level.

So, in addition to combing google images for “emotional wreckage, animated,” let’s just all imagine what it might be like if Ryan Gosling’s “Hey girl” meme made the jump to fatherhood along with him. Below, a selection of sweet sentiments from Baby Goose to his maybe-daughter. (If it’s a boy, we’ll just have to change all our headers to “Hey baby,” instead.)

‘Justice League’ Gets One More Member On ‘The Flash’

by 6 mins ago

Robbie Amell might have been stripped of his status as a Tomorrow Person, but as backup options go, a coveted membership in the Justice League isn’t so bad. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amell will be back at the CW before the year is out, playing the role of Ronnie Raymond in “Arrow” spinoff “The Flash.”

For those not in the know, Ronnie Raymond ultimately makes up one half of the nuclear-fused DC superhero known as Firestorm, whose body houses the consciousness of both Ronnie and brilliant physicist Martin Stein. However, it’s not clear as of yet where his transformation will fit into the “Flash” timeline; Amell’s role is described as a “major recurring” one beginning in episode three, where he’ll be introduced as the fiance of Caitlin Snow. (There’s also no mention yet of anyone having been cast to play Martin Stein, which means that he might never show up at all, but which also means that it’s not too late for them to get Eugene Levy in the role.)

Meanwhile, Robbie’s cousin Stephen Amell, who plays the titular character in “Arrow,” sweetened the casting news with a tweet welcoming his relative to Central City’s most elite club.

“The Flash” premieres on the CW October 7 at 8pm.

by 6 mins ago

Tumblrs, start your engines: the mtvU Fandom Awards are kicking off a competition specifically for you, to determine once and for all which fandom on everyone’s favorite microblogging platform is our BFF (that’s Best Fandom Forever, of course.)

Starting today, six fabulous fandoms have the opportunity to rise to the top and rule them all, starting on MTV’s own tumblr. We’ve created one unique post for each of the Best Fandom Forever nominees, with voting open through July 23. And because this is Tumblr, you know the drill: whoever has the most notes, wins. Which group of pop culture enthusiasts will emerge victorious as our BFF? Read on for a rundown of the nominees.

“Harry Potter”
Before we go any further, it should be noted that the power of the Harry Potter fandom is such that even now, years after the conclusion of both J.K. Rowling’s series and its movie adaptations, Potterheads still managed yesterday to basically break the internet. Best fandom ever? You’re damn right it is. This fandom eats Harry Potter. They sleep Harry Potter. They ARE Harry Potter! And when it comes to winning this competition, Harry Potter himself has nothing but confidence in his followers.

“The Lord of the Rings”

One does not simply walk into Mordor, and one does not simply like “The Lord of the Rings.” What makes this fandom the best? There’s the Gollum paparazzi art, for starters; and of course, ...

16 GIFs That Prove Joe Manganiello And Sofia Vergara Are The Perfect Couple

by 16 mins ago

Although they haven’t confirmed it themselves, sources close to Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara have reportedly informed the press that the two are now an item, leading to important questions like, “When?” and “How?” and “What are the potential global ramifications of cramming that much raw hotness into a single romantic pairing?”

The bad news — apart from the prospect of Sofia’s spicy sex appeal and Joe’s animal magnetism colliding and throwing the universe completely off balance, forever — is that if the relationship is real, it’s also so new that there’s not a single photo yet of the happy couple in action. But that’s okay; we can just use our imaginations, plus the magic of the internet, to picture them being adorable together! We’re thinking it all went something like this.

When they first met, it would’ve been magic.

They probably bonded over a shared sense of humor.

When they discuss their relationship, it’ll be like:

When they fight, it’ll be like:

And when they make up, they’ll be all:

And if they ever want to spice things up with some “Magic Mike” roleplay, you know it’ll go something like this.

Of course, if they ever break up, things are going to get hairy.

But c’mon, that will never happen. They’re too perfect for each other.

Anne Hathaway Takes A Page Out Of Emma Stone’s Paparazzi Playbook

by 24 mins ago

If you needed any further proof that Emma Stone is the coolest girl in Hollywood, just look at the way her fellow A-listers are climbing aboard the hot new trend she started: flashing a little social conscience for the paparazzi.

After Emma and boyfriend Andrew Garfield were photographed last month holding signs over their faces, directing interested parties toward a variety of charitable organizations, Anne Hathaway and husband Adam Schulman were snapped doing the same as they walked their dogs in Brooklyn.

Anne Hathaway and Adam ShulmanSplash News

“Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield had a great idea!” Anne’s cardboard note read, then suggested that people visit the websites for The Girl Effect, Feeding America, and World of Children.

Schulman’s contribution read, “Happy 4th of July!” along with a hand-drawn picture of a petite firework.

Clearly, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have hit on a great way for famous folks to gently push back against invasive photographers, while getting attention for various worthy causes to boot. If things keep going on like this, there might even come a time when we never see another celebrity’s face again!

Tributes: It’s Time To Support ‘Hunger Games’ In The Fandom Awards

by 29 mins ago

Katniss and Peeta might have managed to convince the citizens of Panem that their love is real, but it looks like their fandom still isn’t quite sure. A little jabberjay from the mtvU Fandom Awards headquarters tells us that Everlark is falling behind in the race for Ship of the Year, where they’re up against some stiff competition from some very popular OTPs.

[Artist's rendition of what might happen with Everlark on Awards Night.]

Can Tributes step in, and step up their voting, in time to see the Girl on Fire and the Boy with the Bread emerge victorious once again? Or will they stand on a balcony, drooling blood into a glass of champagne, glaring down at Katniss and letting her know with a barely perceptible shake of the head that they totally don’t buy her love story? Cast your vote to let us know where you stand! If not with Everlark, then maybe with…

Johnlock, a.k.a. John Watson and Sherlock Holmes of “Sherlock”

After seeing their beloved boys of Baker Street reunited (and Sherlock raised from the dead) in series three, fans were reminded once again that there’s never been a more perfectly gorgeous crime-solving couple. Mary? Mary who?

Destiel, a.k.a. Dean and Castiel of “Supernatural”

If you want to see Dean get touched by an angel — and kissed by an angel, and groped by an angel, and [bleeped] by an angel — you’re so not alone.

Sterek, a.k.a. Stiles and Derek of “Teen Wolf”

See Mia’s Best Moment In A New ‘If I Stay’ Clip

by 1 min ago

“If I Stay” is probably best known in advance for its heartbreaking premise; it tells the story of Mia, age 17, who is caught in comatose limbo with a terrible choice to make after an accident kills her whole family.

But this new featurette from the film’s French distributor proves that “If I Stay”— or “Si Je Reste,” in French — won’t be just a non-stop sob-fest, as we get a glimpse of Mia (Chloë Grace Moretz) in some of her happiest moments from her life before the tragedy. A cello is involved. Also, lots and lots of smooching with cutie-pie boyfriend, Adam (Jamie Blackley).

In addition to highlighting the way that music, and love, and love of music all weave together to form the heart of Mia’s life, the clips seen here offer the first good look at Moretz playing her cello, a skill she learned just for the role. “If I Stay” hits theaters August 22.
