Here Are 20,000 Things That Will Get A ‘Game Of Thrones’ Character Named After You

by 06/06/14

Still smarting from the most recent “Game of Thrones” character offing? We all know author George R.R. Martin has a tendency to do away with fan favorites on the regular, but that doesn’t make the super gruesome deaths any easier to stomach.

In an attempt to atone for his wicked ways (or, in reality, to raise money for two charities, the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and the Food Depot of Santa Fe), Martin is offering two lucky fans a chance to be featured in a future book in his “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. There’s space for one female and one male. You’ll not only have a character named after you, but you’ll also get to choose your station (um, lord, much?) and will be gloriously murdered (because of course). The going rate for all that Westerosian goodness? $20,000.

If the idea of scraping together all those copper stars is a bit daunting, perhaps one of the more affordable fundraising perks on Martin’s Prizeo page will pique your interest. We think $7,500 for one of Martin’s well-worn sailor caps (it’s bedecked the cranium of a genius! It’s wonderfully jaunty!) is totally reasonable. And, because he’s a great human, every single donation gives you a chance to win a trip for you and a friend to fly into Santa Fe, New Mexico to meet Martin, have dinner with him, take a helicopter ride to the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary, and pick his brain about all things “Game of Thrones.” George ...

‘Maleficent”s Mistress of All Evil Wins the Weekend Box Office

by 06/01/14

“Maleficent” has topped the weekend box office sans need of potions, spells or cursed spinning wheel spindles.

Backed by Angelina Jolie’s razor-sharp cheekboned villainess, the film is on track to conjure over $68 million in its first weekend, making it Jolie’s best opener to date. Disney’s re-imagining of “Sleeping Beauty” absolutely smoked the competition, leaving Seth MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways to Die in the West” in its fallen fairy dust.

Despite mixed reviews, Jolie’s maniacally evil performance seems to be what bested the rest, though perhaps movie audiences were also swayed by an unconscious visual connection to another huge blockbuster?

“Maleficent” also stars Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora and Sharlto Copley as King Stefan, and includes an especially adorable acting debut by Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, who plays young Princess Aurora in the film.

Justin Bieber Caught Telling N-Word-Laced Racist Joke On Video

by 06/01/14

Justin Bieber is in hot water after a video featuring him repeatedly saying the n-word has surfaced years after it was recorded.

The footage was reportedly shot as part of his 2011 documentary “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.”

The clip features a young Bieber telling a racist joke and then – ignoring his pal’s prompts to stop – dropping a nonsensical punchline that includes repetition (five times, to be exact) of the offensive word.

WARNING: CONTAINS OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE.

The video was first posted today by British tabloid The Sun. TMZ has since claimed that they’ve had the video for four years, but didn’t post it because Bieber was 15 at the time and immediately expressed regret.

TMZ quoted “sources connected with Bieber” as saying he is “frustrated and sad.” According to TMZ sources, a public statement is expected in the next day or so – we’ll be following the story closely.

Your Daily Blue Ivy: Beyoncé Unveils the Blueprint

by 06/01/14

Beyoncé has been on a photo-posting streak as of late, and we’re loving it – especially when those images involve the adorable Blue Ivy.

After sharing a fresh batch of beautiful mother-daughter snapshots on her website last week, Queen Bey took to Instagram Sunday to show off the tiny foot (and peek-a-boo face) of her little princess, captioning the black and white shot simply, “The blueprint.”

The blueprint </p></blockquote> <p>We’re digging the dual meaning of the statement: an obvious reference to the little one’s name and the picture’s subject, sure, but also a shout-out to husband Jay-Z’s 2001 album title.</p> <p>We like to think of this as the second in a series of adorable petite feet-related Blue Ivy items – the first of which remains our favorite.</p> <a href=

Those are some big shoes to fill, but we’re pretty sure Blue is up to the task.

Melissa Etheridge is Married!

by 06/01/14

Singer Melissa Etheridge traded in the strumming of guitar chords for the ringing of wedding bells this weekend when she married fiancee Linda Wallem at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, CA yesterday.

The nuptials didn’t come as a complete surprise, though – the “Come to My Window” crooner Tweeted a shot of her bohemian braided leather shoes in a garden setting shortly before the ceremony (perhaps lending insight into its theme?) saying, “A gorgeous, perfect, beautiful day to get married. #shoesonlylove”

Etheridge serenaded her bride (and “Nurse Jackie” creator) with a new song penned solely for the celebration, which also served as something of a dual birthday party for Etheridge and Wallem, who both turned 53 on May 29. Between events, Etheridge dropped a hint on Twitter, saying “Linda and I had a great birthday yesterday. Now, just a little rehearsal for something we will be doing tomorrow…”

The two have been dating since 2010, and were engaged in June 2013 after the Supreme Court’s historic rulings on gay rights. Etheridge’s four children were in attendance: 17-year-old daughter Bailey and 15-year-old son Beckett, from her previous relationship with Julie Cypher, and seven-year-old twins Johnnie and Miller, who she shares with ex Tammy Lynn Michaels.

Brad Pitt’s ‘Maleficent’ Red Carpet Attacker Has His Day in Court

by 06/01/14

Remember when that jerkwad Ukranian TV reporter Vitalii Sediuk punched Brad Pitt at the “Maleficent” premiere last Wednesday? Yeah, we’re trying to forget him too.

Well, he’s officially on probation – which will hopefully snuff out the 15 minutes of fame the prankster gained from attempting to fell the world’s most un-fellable man (reminder: Pitt shook off the hit and continued walking the red carpet after Sediuk’s assault – proving yet again that he’s the embodiment of cool, calm and collected).

After Sediuk’s court date on Friday in Los Angeles, where he pleaded no contest to battery and unlawful activity charges, he was sentenced to three years probation, one year of psychological counseling, ordered to stay 500 yards away from all celebrity events, and issued with a restraining order to keep away from Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Prior to Friday’s court date, Sediuk was slapped with four misdemeanors – one count of battery, one count of assault and two violations of the Los Angeles municipal code (those last two from back when he crashed the stage during Adele’s acceptance speech at the 2013 Grammy Awards). Apparently, this guy’s lot in life is to be a professional pain in the butt – mind you, this is also the idiot who tried kissing Will Smith in 2012 and dove under America Ferrera’s dress on a Cannes red carpet earlier this month.

Sediuk will also have to serve 20 days of community service, which we sort of hope involves every celebrity he’s wronged enacting their revenge upon him, ...
