Pharrell’s Adidas Collaboration Is Coming Sooner Than You Think

by 14 mins ago

By now, you’re surely aware of the Stan Smith, aka the Shoe of the Year. Pharrell pretty much single-handedly resurrected it for 2014, showing up to events in custom pairs decked out with everything from Swarovski crystals to his own doodles. (Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the shoe has also gotten endorsements from Kanye and a pantsless Rihanna.) So, when news of Pharrell’s first collaboration with Adidas broke back in March, we had a sneaking suspicion that he’d be putting his own stamp on them in the near future.

The first images of his capsule collection with Adidas have surfaced thanks to Packer Shoes and, true to our prediction, it’s all about the Stan Smith. Instead of mass marketing his hand-painted style, Pharrell went with a sleeker approach, doing up the shoe in electric blue (and red, and black). The whole initial appeal of the Stan Smiths were its clean style, but leave it to Pharrell to jazz them up in eye-popping shades.

If you take a closer look at the insole, you’ll notice the cartoonish graphic done in the same style as Pharrell’s fragrance bottle for Comme des Garcon. There’s the Skateboard P we know.

In case you were worried about matching the shoes—which happen to be the perfect plug for his “Marilyn Monroe” video, which takes place, in part, in a room painted with the same blue and red—Pharrell went ahead and solved ...

Beyonce Reveals The Sketches Behind Her On The Run Tour Paris Wardrobe

by 13 mins ago

Even though Beyonce and Jay Z’s On the Run tour ended last weekend, we’ll soon be able to relive it again and again thanks to HBO, which will be premiering a special documentary this Saturday (September 20) at 9 p.m. EST.

To get us ready for the doc, Bey shared some sketches of her OTR wardrobe. The new additions come largely courtesy of Versace, the brand that gifted us all with the immortal image of Queen B. and Nicki Minaj performing together in matching looks in Paris. As we’re well aware by now, Bey loves a good bodysuit and Versace, along with Givenchy, came through with new options.

The lucky Paris attendees got not only a performance from Nicki, but also a look at Bey in this Versace bodysuit. It’s leather with sheer paneling and, essentially, garter belts across her midsection—some people have all the luck, eh?

Beyonce also went with a bad-chick look for her long-sleeve peplum bodysuit. According to the description, Versace dubs the look “Bandit” Beyonce: “Strong and powerful; perfect for an incredible opening in Paris!”

Things then take a turn toward the sparkling in this Versace bodysuit. Why is there a pole in the sketch? You know what? I don’t actually care. After her Mrs. Carter World Show tour I didn’t think Bey could get any shiner than ...

Tom Ford’s Fall 2015 Collection Is Perfect For Miley Cryus

by 11 mins ago

We’re now a week and a half into fashion month, and what have we learned so far? Fall is shaping up to be the season of Miley Cyrus. Just days after Miley showed her “Dirty Hippie” wearable art collection on Jeremy Scott’s runway and pulled a Lil’ Kim at Alexander Wang’s after party, Miley—in spirit, not actual flesh—has popped up on another runway, this time belonging to Tom Ford.

The luxe designer, who became a household name after the Jay Z song named for him became a hit, just showed his new collection in London, and it has plenty of options for the pasties-loving pop singer.

There are sparkly dresses with sheer bra cups and dangling pasties strategically placed to prevent #freeingthenipple.

Then, there’s a shirt variation, in case Miley feels like sleeves because this collection is meant for fall.

But the collection’s crown jewel, the item that we can *most* see Miley wearing, is a white gown with even sheerer bra cups in a nude mesh with purple flower-like pasties.

Like all of the other fall collections, Tom Ford’s pasties-centric line will hit stores next August, which just happens to perfectly coincide with when Miley will be looking at options for the VMAs. Hmmmmmmm… Just putting that out there, Miles.

Ralph Lauren Responds To Kanye West’s ‘It Ain’t Ralph, Though’ Line

by 1 min ago

In the tensest moment of Kanye West‘s now-infamous 34-minute interview with Sway Calloway, Yeezy belted out, “It ain’t Ralph, though!”

His reference to design titan Ralph Lauren was Kanye’s response to Sway asking why he was ranting about no one opening doors for him in the fashion industry when he could have been putting all of his energy and funds into his own line—a move that Sway did himself, when he released his own clothing line. Kanye fired back at Sway that his clothing label wasn’t on a par with Ralph Lauren and went on to lament the production cost of creating a line from the ground up, explaining why he needed a platform as big as Nike to create his designs.

Almost a year later, Ralph Lauren has finally responded to Kanye’s compliment by way of rant. In an interview with Style.com, the publication’s editor-in-chief Dirk Standen asked Ralph what he thought of Kanye using his name as the barometer of quality and reach. Ralph’s take on it: “That’s very cool. Well, that’s great. If I were to cater to Kanye, he would know that I’m catering to him. The fact that I make what I make—he gets it. He gets the quality and he respects it. And I think that’s the key, why I work all the time is to do that. That’s the fun.”

Now that Ralph’s on board with Kanye’s respect for him, might this open the door for a ...

Opening Ceremony Ditches Runway Show For Play By Spike Jonze And Jonah Hill

by 38 mins ago

Of all the words you could use to describe Opening Ceremony, the concept store and collection, “boring” would never be one of them. This season, designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim traded in a typical Fashion Week show for a one-act play, 100% Lost Cotton, co-written by Spike Jonze and Jonah Hill.

Jonze and Hill cast a number of big names in the production, including Karlie Kloss, Elle Fanning, and Dree Hemingway, just to name a few. The play centered on the story of a new model, played by Elle, at her first casting for Fashion Week. The casting was, of course, for Opening Ceremony. Everyone on stage wore pieces from the Spring 2015 collection, which was, apparently, inspired by “the summer of ’91.”

While we weren’t in the audience—who sat backstage and faced the audience seats, by the way—OC kept us up-to-date via Instagram, sharing photos from the stage, collection inspiration info, and deets about the plot.

To be honest, OC’s production makes your regular ol’ runway show seem outdated. Combined with Gareth Pugh’s dance piece, Hood By Air’s giant dog on the catwalk, and Twin Shadow’s performance on Public School’s runway, this Fashion Week is shaping up to be preeeeetty theatrical.

The Front Row At Alexander Wang’s NYFW Show Was The Coolest

by 1 hour ago

As usual, Alexander Wang slayed his Saturday night slot at New York Fashion Week. But, as spectacular as his sneaker-inspired collection was, if we’re being completely honest, our attention was all on the front row. The collection didn’t have a glow-in-the-dark or heat sensing coat finale like his Fall 2014 one, but with all of the massive stars in attendance it didn’t even need one.

RihannaGetty Images

As we predicted, Rihanna made her second appearance of NYFW at Wang’s show in an electric blue Alexander Wang parka dress and hat that looked ultra comfortable, aside from the fact that it was 90 degrees outside #fashionoverfunction.

Nicki MinajGetty Images

The biggest surprise of the show might have been Nicki Minaj’s appearance who not only showed up in a envy-inducing Alexander Wang bodycon outfit, but also taught his models how to master her “Anaconda” moves. Maybe it’s too early to tell, but Nicki seems well on her way to winning NYFW.

Die AntwoodGetty Images

Also in attendance was OG queen Kim Gordon who sat next to Nicki and opted for a white button-down and black skirt. Because she’s Kim Gordon, no one could be mad at her for wearing her sunglasses inside.

On the indie front was also Die Antwoord, the former models for Wang’s T line. The eccentric South African duo looked like a human yin yang in complimentary all-black and all-white ...

Rihanna Arrives At New York Fashion Week Dressed As Wilma Flintstone

by 21 mins ago

If you don’t have FOMO over missing New York Fashion Week, prepare to now. Only two days into NYFW, Queen Rihanna has touched down. In a sad twist, we learned of her appearance through Instagram, her once-glorious platform.

Where did Bad Gal RiRi turn up? At the finale of Adam Selman‘s show of course, the designer who gifted us all with Rihanna’s #FreetheNipple Swarovski crystal-encrusted Josephine Baker look, collaborated with Rih on her River Island collections, and frequently dresses her for tour.

RihannaGetty Images

After a parade of pearl-centric looks, Rihanna closed the show in a white flounced swing dress and a long strand of pearls wrapped around her neck. TBH, the whole look—updo included—is giving us major Wilma Flintstone vibes. But if anyone could pull off Wilma’s look, you know it’s our girl Rih.

Wilma FlintstoneBoomerang

Now that we know Miss Fenty is in the vicinity, as NYFW continues, we’re keeping our eyes glued to her Twitter and our Instagram feed to see where she pops up next. Just for the record, I’m betting on Alexander Wang’s show and/or after-party tomorrow night.

Rita Ora Officially Launches Her Adidas Collaboration

by 1 min ago

It’s finally here! After one of the longest waits we’ve ever had for a collaboration—seriously, this has been almost a year in the makingRita Ora launched her Adidas collaboration last night in a floral bodysuit. And a colorblock sweatshirt. So many clothes in one night, it’s hard to keep up.

The good news is that a lot of it is now for sale (!!!), so it’s easy to keep track and—best news, IMHO—this is likely as close as you can come to looking like Rita.

While we’ve been eagerly expecting the components of the Black Pack–including the patch-covered leather sports bra–the Colorblock and Pastel Packs dropped yesterday and, dang, our wishlist just got a lot longer.

Rita Ora x Adidas OriginalsAdidas

For starters, there’s the spandex jumpsuit that we’ve seen Rita in numerous times IRL. It’s basically the RitaBots uniform at this point, right?

Rita Ora x Adidas OriginalsAdidas

There’s a sweatshirt that combines the iconic Adidas logo and sheer colorblock panels and matching leggings, which we wouldn’t mind spending all winter in, TBH.

Rita Ora x Adidas OriginalsAdidas

And, because it is a line for Adidas, after all, Rita has you covered in the shoe department. There are a number of pastel pairs, but we’re partial to the four black styles, all of which have colorful soles. Color me ...

Kanye West Reveals Yeezy 3 Release Date

by 13 mins ago

Brace yourselves—and your wallets—because Kanye West‘s first pair of Adidas Yeezys are coming in November. [Cue the chest-banging intro of "I Am a God."] At a show last night in Australia on the never-ending Yeezus tour, Ye casually mentioned the release month of his first shoe for Adidas during the middle of his “Runaway” monologue. JK, it wasn’t casual—nothing about Kanye West is casual.

While he had originally said the shoes would be coming in June, last night Ye told the crowd, “Now I feel good because we’ve been working hard and we got the new Yeezys 3 coming in November and this is just the beginning. This is something that I want to create and do for the rest of my life.” We’d like that, too, Kanye—please do it for the rest of your life. Pretty please.

Of course, if Ye had his way, he’d already be written into textbooks. “Now there’s only two times in history: Before Yeezus and after,” he added. “Every now and then in life you’ve got to turn up just to let people know that you ain’t playing with them and that they can’t play with you. Now it’s time to create, which is my dream and why god put me on this earth.”

Kanye also gave us what we really wanted to hear which is that this Adidas collaboration will be different from Nike one, in the sense that we might actually have a chance at ...

Kristen Stewart Is Short Haired And Shoeless For ‘Vanity Fair’ France

by 27 mins ago

Between slaying it for Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection campaign with braids and then chopping off all of her hair and dyeing it red before the brand’s haute couture show, Kristen Stewart has been giving us beauty inspo all year. But how exactly she stepped into that role for Chanel, after leaving Balenciaga along with its former creative head Nicolas Ghesquière has remained an unknown—until now. In Kristen’s gorgeous new Vanity Fair France cover story (which gives us an even better look at her short hair), the actress opens up about how she got into the campaign game and what working with Karl Lagerfeld is really like.

Kristen StewartVanity Fair France

According to Kristen, “he’s awesome, man.” At first, Kristen was a little daunted by Lagerfeld too, revealing, “When you say Karl Lagerfeld, you almost picture the silhouette before the actual man. You can see the shape in a drawing.” Once she got to know him, though, she developed a deep respect for him. “What really shocked me is how prolific he is. His capacity is really obvious. He’s like an enormous vault of information. It’s crazy.”

Kristen StewartVanity Fair France

Not surprisingly, Karl—the king of cool aloofness—makes anyone around him feel cool. “He told me, ‘You know my girls are very excited about you,’” Kristen said. “I thought that was really sweet. The way it all came about was just really natural. ...
