Taylor Swift Wants You To Cop Her ‘1989’ Album Art Sweatshirt

by 5 mins ago

In case you didn’t hear, Taylor Swift is bringing back the ’80s. The country singer-gone-pop star is drawing influence from her birth year on her new record 1989. The album’s vintage-esque artwork features a Polaroid (remember those?) of Taylor in a sweatshirt with a flock of seagulls on it. What’s the significance of the birds? Your guess is as good as ours, though it’s worth noting that the ’80s hair synth-pop band Flock of Seagulls reunited that same year. Maybe Taylor is a fan of theirs, but in any case, her awesome sweatshirt can now be yours!

T. Swift is gifting us all with the chance to take our own selfies in the sweatshirt. She’s selling it on her website right now, which comes with a pre-order of her new album for $59.99. Even though a vintage Polaroid camera is not included, you can get crafty! Just download one of the fauxeroid iPhone apps like Polamatic or ShakeItPhoto to makeshift your own 1989 cover at home while you not-so-patiently wait for the new album to drop on October 27.

Katy Perry And Riff Raff Actually Have Similar Taste In Fashion

by 27 mins ago

Yesterday Katy Perry and her new bestie Riff Raff gifted the world with their remix of KP’s “This Is How We Do.” While this move was, no question, unexpected, the two have more in common than you might think. Really! Perry and Jody Highroller not only share at least one of their friends, designer Jeremy Scott, they’ve also shown the same level of appreciation for ~out there~ fashion choices, especially over the past few years.

Aside from the cornrows they both fearlessly wear in the remix’s artwork, Katy and RiFF have been on the same sartorial wavelength when it comes to their love of food fashion, animal prints, and the fact that they spend all of their free time searching the dark corners of Tumblr for style inspiration. We rounded up all of the times the two dressed alike.

Green Hair, Don’t Care

Katy Perry, Riff RaffInstagram

Katy Perry and RiFF RAFF are both brave when it comes their hair choices–especially when it comes to colorful hair. The best part of their green hues? How much it brought out the blue in their eyes.

Before there was Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love,” Katy Perry was championing the then-underrated fruit in the form of a romper she wore on NBC’s “Today.” RiFF RAFF obviously took note of the fruit’s wearable potential— or the pair have some kind of ...

Lena Dunham Is Extremely Blonde Now

by 2 mins ago

By this point, 2014 is well on its way to being remembered as the year everyone dyed their hair. Kesha mastered ROY-G-BIV in dye shades while Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, and Kristen Stewart all switched up their looks. Technicolor hair may as well be the new norm–but that’s exactly why Lena Dunham’s new ‘do is all the more major.

Lena DunhamInstagram

Over the weekend, the Girls star gave us some homework when she unveiled an eye-popping platinum blonde hairstyle. Was it a wig or wasn’t it? Thankfully she didn’t keep us on the hook for too long. One Instagram later, we learned that, yes, Dunham has gone the hydrogen-peroxide-bottled way of Madonna and all of the other great natural brunettes-gone-blonde.

Lena DunhamInstagram

The occasion? “Change is good,” Lena wrote in the caption on her first Instagram of her platinum locks. In the second, where Lena’s bowl cut was side-swept into a softer bob, she mentioned that she was at a wedding. What spurred the change? Sia‘s trademark ‘do, perhaps?

Lena Dunham, SiaNBC

Earlier this year while promoting her new album, 1000 Forms of Fear, Sia took an unconventional promotional route, asking others to be the face of her songs in platinum wigs–to match her hair and album cover— as she hid on the sidelines. One of the people she called on was Lena Dunham, who did an ...

Ariana Grande Braves Helmet Hair For ‘Billboard’ Cover

by 5 mins ago

Ariana Grande is really serious about this mod thing, OK? In case you missed her Swinging London tribute of a music video for “Problem” with Iggy Azalea or when she channeled Barbarella, the R&B diva is here to remind you of her favorite decade on her brand new Billboard cover *bouffant hair flip*. On it, Grande not only shows us her boldest beauty look to date—a white cat-eye, what a game changer—she also covers up her signature poofy hair in her modest look yet: a polka dot helmet and shift dress that makes us wish we could transport to Twiggy’s era.

Ariana GrandeAustin Hargrave/Billboard

If Ariana’s headgear looks familiar, that might be because of its iconic shape, created when mod designers were experimenting with space age fashion in the UK. One of them, Otto Lucas, made this silhouette his specialty.

The German-born milliner who rose to fame during the ‘50s, crafting hats for French, English, and American royalty—including Queen Elizabeth II—even landed a Vogue cover with one of his hats worn by UK model Jill Kennington, posing, it’s worth noting, with a similar head-tilt and hands-framed-face as Ariana. (If you’ve got $120 to spare, and want more space age outfit inspo you can purchase the issue on eBay.) In another Vogue shoot, Lucas dressed his model in a matchy-matchy black-and-white zebra helmet and dress that looks like a long lost relative of Ariana’s polka dot outfit.

We Would Gladly Go Back To School With This Beyonce Backpack

by 7 mins ago

If you’re headed back to school, Beyonce has you covered—and if you aren’t, well, you’ll probably wish you were. Our girl Bey simultaneously just took away all of the anxiety (and dreaded crowds) of school supply shopping season and gave us graduates a reason to be nostalgic about it with the new merch she’s selling on her site. Her new gear is also another reminder of something we’ve known for a while: Beyonce makes any activity better.

BeyonceBeyonce.com

Seriously, only Yonce could get us excited about a bunch of pens and notebooks. In the “Back to School” bundle, you’ll find a set of 14 pencils named for each song on her self-titled masterpeice. Yes, there’s a “Flawless” one and it writes in 24-karat gold. JK, but how can your writing not sound infinitely better when it’s being scribbled with a Beyonce pencil? Aside from actually writing with it, you could also flaunt it around the classroom and send subliminal messages à la Cher Horowitz. The bundle also includes two Angel composition notebooks (a perfect title for a makeshift diary), “Flawless” and “Beyonce” pencil cases that could double as sunglasses cases, “Mine” and “Beyonce” totes, a Beyoncé poster, and a Beyonce t-shirt. The whole thing is priced at $75, which might seem like a lot but, for that amount, you’d be lucky to cop two t-shirts at a concert.

There Are Now Drake Vs Lil Wayne Air Jordans

by 47 mins ago

If you thought the ladies were the only ones getting swagged out with custom threads for their tours, think again. Jordan Brand just made good (real good) on their deal with Drake, hooking him up with a pair of custom Js.

After kicking off (heh) the Drake vs Lil Wayne tour over the weekend, Drizzy unveiled OVO’s latest offering: a pair of Drake vs Lil Wayne Jordan 3′s in black tumbled leather. Of course the sneakers aren’t just your standard Js—they’re done up with a gold Jumpman logo on the back and customized on the insoles with the logos for Drake and Lil Wayne’s tour and the OVO owl.

DrakeGetty Images

Judging by Drizzy’s all-black footwear choice on opening night, it’s possible that he premiered them during the show as he flew across the stadium-sized crowd, which is just about the best possible advertisement you could make next to, uh, walking on water with them.

Drake’s decision to call out that the shoes are all black on Instagram makes us wonder if there might be more colorways on the way. Also, will we ever get a shot at buying them?

As for who won the first night of Drake vs Lil Wayne? To us the answer is obvious: the shoes.

Cara Delevingne Kills It As Topshop’s First Solo Campaign Model

by 2 hours ago

Cara Delevingne Topshop/Splash News

Not that we didn’t already know this, but Cara Delevingne has got to be one of the best models to hang with. The UK beauty doesn’t take herself too seriously—she sings, plays the guitar and counts Rihanna as one of her besties. But today, she’s giving us a whole other reason to love her: as the new face of Topshop.

Cara DelevingneTopshop/Splash News

Just by looking at the campaign, it’s obvious that Cara knows how to have fun on set, and it’s no wonder Topshop named her the first-ever solo face of the brand. In a behind-the-scenes video reel from her shoot, she chills with her rabbit Cecil (who has her own Instagram, FYI), jams on her guitar, catches a ping pong ball in her mouth, dances on a balcony, and licks a mirror–and still manages to werk the clothing at hand. (Talk about skill.)

Cara DelevingneTopshop/Splash News

Cara also makes the simplest outfit combinations look like she invented them. Case in point: the look consisting of skinny jeans, black boots, a white tank, and an anorak that would be #basic on anyone else, but somehow comes across as sultry on Cara. She wears fur and sandals just as well, as if it’s totally natural to pair together a dead-of-winter coat with summer heels. We’re not even questioning it.

Hood By Air Expands To Three Fashion Shows, Talks Retail Stores

by 23 mins ago

If you’ve seen Drake’s visual opus aka the “Worst Behavior” video, you’re already familiar with Hood By Air. The NYC neo-goth streetwear line, helmed by Shayne Oliver, has built a loyal following in the rap world, for good reason–HBA’s designs are effortlessly striking, political, and fun; Kanye, Rihanna, and A$AP Rocky are also fans. Now it seems like we’ll be seeing a lot more of Hood By Air in the future.

In an interview with Style.com, Oliver revealed that HBA is in major expansion mode. The designer, who’s done a stand-up job of offering a mix of runway and accessibly priced pieces so far, will continue to do just that but on a larger scale. This coming fashion month, HBA will have not one but THREE shows. Translation: there will be three times as much clothing for us to covet–not to mention, two more opportunities for Kanye and A$AP cameos. There will be shows for wardrobe pieces (from here on out marked with tags that read “Hood By Air”) and printed pieces (HBA) in New York City and then an artisanal collection which will be shown in Paris. What exactly does a HBA “artisanal collection” consists of? We can only guess and hope that there will be more stunners like these Timbs decked out with Swarovski crystals and more runway theatrics along the lines of the voguing that took place at Oliver’s fall 2014 show.

The global domination doesn’t stop there. ...
