Why ‘Finding Carter”s Max Must Absolutely, Positively Pull Through

by 7 mins ago

Want proof life isn’t fair? Max, whose sole prerogative has been to keep the peace on “Finding Carter,” is now fighting for his life after looking down the barrel of a gun.

On Tuesday’s episode, the show’s consummate nice guy was mistakenly shot when Crash, who flashed his pistol at the gas station cashier, accidentally set the weapon off and sent a bullet through Max’s chest. As it missed Max’s heart by only a hair, it’s still unclear whether he’ll make it out of surgery alive.

But he has to.

Ever since he followed Carter along to the Wilson household, he’s become a sort of glue that’s pieced each member of the family back together. Elizabeth, David and their kids are far from perfect, but with Max’s help, they’re repaired. Look at five very good reasons that it’s crucial that he survive the night, and stay tuned for the next “Finding Carter” episode to see if he pulls through.

1. He’s Grant‘s big brother.

Though Grant’s got sage wisdom to spare, his words usually fall on deaf ears around the Wilson house. That all changed once Max showed up, though, and something as simple as the guys playing video games through the afternoon proved to Grant that his words had value, and that he wasn’t alone.

2. Taylor‘s finally loosened up with his help.

There’s One More Unsolved ‘Teen Wolf’ Mystery: Who Is The Desert Wolf?

by 18 mins ago

A family reunion is in order on “Teen Wolf,” but this one won’t include ice cream and cake.

On Monday night’s episode, Peter, whose agenda is about as clear as a slab of granite, told Malia that the identity of her mother — who Peter identified as “The Desert Wolf” — was as good as hers if she agreed to kill Kate Argent in exchange. Malia looked befuddled by the offer, but considering she’d only just learned that Peter was her father, and that her family tree had been totally uprooted in the process, she felt more desperate than ever to figure things out.

The problem is, Kate’s not going down quietly. Though her transformation into a werecoyote is recent, she’s already supremely powerful, and no one has been able to mess with her or her Beserkers and live to tell the tale. Still, going toe-to-toe with the former werewolf hunter might be Malia’s only shot, as she and amateur sleuth Stiles, who did successfully stop The Benefactor’s cash flow, haven’t had as much luck nailing down the identity of The D.W.

So, got any guesses? Considering all you’ve seen this season, who is The Desert Wolf, and who gave birth to Malia? Let us know what you think, and let’s hope Monday night’s “Teen Wolf” finale gives us the answer we’ve been looking for!

Can The Wilsons Forgive ‘Carter’ After Tonight’s Catastrophe?

by 7 mins ago

On tonight’s “Finding Carter,” the show’s titular character stole away into the night with the hope of leaving everything she knew behind her. But in a single second en route to California, she was forced to face the sobering fact that running away is much easier said than done.

Carter, who was wrongfully accused of stealing jewelry that belonged to Bird’s mother, found herself behind bars on last week’s episode, but Crash swooped in and bailed her out — and soon, the two hit the road to make a new life for themselves on the West Coast. Elizabeth was determined to reclaim her prodigal daughter, though, and used her clout in the police force to send out an amber alert.

Rather than give up the good fight, though, Carter, who presumed that her kidnapper/mother Lori caught wind of the signal, decided to capitalize on the notice and asked Crash to stop by the gas station to visit Max before the outlaws ditched town. Max had acted as the middleman between Lori and Carter before, and she was sure he’d be willing again. But when she arrived, Max only pleaded for her to stay; Crash became upset and soon followed her into the store.

Short on cash, Crash demanded that Max hand over the contents of the register — and flashed a gun to enforce the point that he was serious. He assured the worried Carter that the safety was on, but when he flicked his wrist ...

Nev Schulman Is Officially An Author, And He’s Got ‘In Real Life’ Tips For Internet Junkies

by 35 mins ago

Catfish” host Nev Schulman: filmmaker, detective of online love gone awry and, as of today, verifiable author.

The virtual sleuth’s new book, “In Real Life,” has officially hit bookstores, and it couples topics that are explored on the hit MTV show (why people fall in love with Catfish, how you can spot red flags online) with new conversations (the power of the “digital detox,” why fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be). Whether your relationship’s in the pits, or you can’t seem to curb your addiction to the World Wide Web, the in-print guide will double as your bible, and Nev told MTV News all about what you can expect with a read.

See what Nev said, head to his website to order a copy of “In Real Life” and check out the details of his book tour below!

You’re an Internet expert on a TV show — why a book?
I’m very actively looking to branch out — to begin to define myself as more than the “Catfish” guy, as well as someone with a more rounded personality. I feel very satisfied when I make the show, because it’s a real product and I’m producing real material. But I thought a book — though it seems like the antithesis to what I do with social media and my career in the online space — would be a really good thing for me, and for those people like me who find themselves addicted to indulging in social ...

What Exactly Is Peter’s Master Plan On ‘Teen Wolf’?

by 3 mins ago

After Meredith outed Peter as The “Teen Wolf” Benefactor and explained that he’d dictated the dead pool’s many entries, Peter claimed he couldn’t be held responsible for what thoughts he imparted on the banshee while he was fever-dreaming in the hospital. But after last night’s episode, it seems his unconscious thoughts might actually be rooted in reality.

Peter, who’s already admitted to wanting True Alpha Wolf Scott McCall dead, upped the ante on his bloodlust at Beacon Hills High School’s latest lacrosse game. While perched in the stands, Peter told his daughter Malia that he’d discovered the identity of her mother — otherwise known as “The Desert Wolf” — and that he’d give her the information under one condition: that she’d kill Kate Argent. Whaaaa?

Though Peter and Kate were once avowed enemies, we’re scratching our heads at his latest scheme for a number of reasons. First, Peter already committed to helping Kate sort through her early transformations into a werecoyote, and that would be a needless act of kindness if his plan was to off her all along. Secondly, Peter and Kate are in cahoots to wipe Scott off the face of the earth, a task Kate is inching closer to completing in Mexico. So wouldn’t he need her to get the job done?

Got any theories as to why Peter is suddenly anti-Kate? Share your thoughts, and stay tuned for the “Teen Wolf” season finale next Monday night at 10/9c!

Marcus Haney Calls ‘No Cameras Allowed’ A Field Guide To Playing By Your Own Rules

by 34 mins ago

A sold-out show is a disappointment for most, but in Marcus Haney’s eyes, it’s an opportunity.

In 2010, while studying film in college, Haney found himself too short on cash to pay for entry to his dream festival, Coachella. So, armed with his trustiest cameras, he snuck in. The risk was big, but so was the reward: Jumping fences proved to pay off in dividends for Haney, who wound up snapping photos that were worthy of the pages of glossy magazines. And he didn’t stop there.

Tomorrow at 10/9c, MTV will air Haney’s film “No Cameras Allowed,” which chronicles the young artist’s experiences of breaking his way into City Limits, Glastonbury and Bonnaroo, among other big shows, capitalizing on his time before getting kicked out and earning some rave reviews for his images and films in the process (Mumford & Sons are among his devotees). Take a look at what Haney told MTV News about the movie, watch the trailer to see what you can expect and stay tuned for more information on Haney’s plan to take his production on the road.

What is it about festivals that are so alluring lately?
From a concert-goer’s point of view, you are getting more than a concert experience. You’re getting a weekend or a vacation or an escape. At a Coachella or a Bonnaroo, your phones are off, you’re worry-free, you’re with a bunch of friends and you can let loose a lot more. It’s an adventure ...

See Nev Schulman’s Top Tips For Dating ‘In Real Life’

by 6 mins ago

If each “Catfish” episode is a single lesson on Internet-dating, show host Nev Schulman is finally ready to give you the start-to-finish curriculum.

MTV’s resident digital sleuth, who himself has experienced the sting of being duped by an online liar, is just steps away from releasing his very first book, “In Real Life.” The work, which covers everything from cultivating an authentic relationship on the World Wide Web to rules for a successful “digital detox,” is officially on sale September 2. But we’ve got a little preview.

Below, from the chapter “Less Is More,” Nev urges readers to take their time in getting to know a date — and advises against running straight to the sext. Check it out, hold tight for “In Real Life” (you can pre-order on Nev’s website) and stay tuned for Nev’s interview with MTV News! Here’s the excerpt:

Guys, if you really want to impress a girl and tell her that you like her, here are a few things that are far superior to that junk shot you were considering:

• Give her an actual handwritten love note.
• Buy or hand‑pick flowers and leave them on her doorstep.
• Buy her an iTunes movie rental and invite her to watch it with you.
• Make her a personalized Spotify radio station.
• Send a cool picture you took of something besides yourself.
• Show up outside her dorm with a boom box on your shoulders.

Better yet, rather than sending her a text message, call her on ...

Cancer Survivor Diem Brown After Hysterectomy: I’m Thankful To Be Alive

by 12 mins ago

When it rains it pours, but “Challenge” veteran Diem Brown, who’s battling cancer for the third time, isn’t giving up hope as she travels down a particularly rocky road.

Earlier this month, Brown collapsed and was forced to undergo emergency surgery, during which doctors found cancer in her colon and stomach. And yesterday, she told People she woke up from the procedure to some devastating news.

“When I came to, they told me that they couldn’t save my uterus,” she said. “That was a blow. We’d fought so hard to keep it. Might sound silly to most, but it’s what made me still feel like a woman and gave me hope for a future. I felt empty…gutted…I was completely defeated.”

Brown also shared that now, after undergoing a second surgery, she’s been outfitted with a colostomy bag. But she’s not ready to succumb to self-pity.

“I might not have the ability to ever carry a child and I have this damn bag for the time being, but I’m alive,” she asserted.

Be sure to send Diem your support, and, if you’re able, visit her MedGift page to help cover her hospital stay.

Is Marjorie Keeping Herself In ‘Virgin Territory’ By Hiding Her Emotions?

by 1 hour ago

For Marjorie, an 18-year-old student from Florida, the whats, whens, wheres and whys of eventually losing her virginity are clear. As for the whos, well, that’s not so cut and dry.

The spunky beach-lover and party animal made her debut on tonight’s “Virgin Territory” episode and shared that since her first love broke her heart, she’s had her defenses up. Talking to guys was no trouble for her and the prospect of sex wasn’t scary; she just had little faith that there was someone out there who wouldn’t screw her over after the deed was done.

Marjorie2

Still, there’s one guy who has stuck with Marjorie through thick and thin: her friend Hiago. Marjorie admitted the two had shared a flirty past and that she once came very close to having sex with Hiago, but she said their shared Type A personalities didn’t always live in harmony and that lately, she’d been put off by his conceit.

Though Marjorie insisted her feelings for Hiago were gone for good, her friends and family all noticed the glint in her eye each time his name came up. To put the issue to rest, Marjorie decided to talk things through with Hiago and find out once and for all if they had any real potential as a couple.

When the time came to get real, Marjorie — who was finally open to the idea of pursuing a romance with Hiago — got the impression that he wasn’t interested, and she ...
