Season 1 Of ‘Faking It’ Ends With Massive Truth Bombs

by 06/10/14

In an ideal world, Amy and Karma‘s couple charade could have fizzled out slowly and quietly before leaving anyone badly burned. But on tonight’s “Faking It” season finale, the wrong strings were pulled, and in a few quick minutes, everything came undone.

Karma, who finally got her wish of sleeping with Liam at the end of last week’s episode, seemed to awaken genuine feelings in the high school lothario. The problem: Liam wanted to go public as an exclusive pair, but Karma hadn’t yet revealed to Amy that she and Liam were together. And, of course, Karma couldn’t risk upsetting Amy, who was especially sensitive to any mention of the heartthrob.

Unfortunately, Shane spilled the beans before Karma could come clean. Already privy to Karmy’s deceit, he felt obligated to set the truth bomb off when he sensed his best bro was in too deep. The result: Liam almost immediately swore Karma off. And he wasn’t the only one…

Amy gave a touching speech at the wedding reception for her mother and Lauren‘s dad, speaking to the value of falling in love with one’s best friend. That’s when Karma finally realized Amy’s feelings for her were real — and she was suddenly forced to explain that they weren’t reciprocated. Karma admitted that the BFFs’ threesome kiss was exciting, but that’s where her romantic feelings started and ended. When Amy asked how her lifelong pal knew for sure, Karma ...

‘Awkward’ Poll: Should Jake and Lissa Give Love Another Shot?

by 06/10/14

It’s no wonder Jake Rosati has adopted a scorned singer/songwriter vibe this season on “Awkward” — when you think about it, he’s got a pretty unfortunate track record with the ladies.

Since sophomore year, he’s broken up with Lissa to get close to Jenna, then got his heart trampled on by J-Town (who decided to pick things up with Matty, instead). Finally, he broke up with recent ex-girlfriend Tamara not once, but twice.

On tonight’s episode, though, Jake got a couple of reminders why — in spite of their differences — he and Lissa once got along so well. One reason: Lissa is truly goodwilled, as evidenced by the fact that she pacified Sadie after her food truck shift freakout. In spite of a few exceptions (let’s not forget that she cold-cocked Jenna in the courtyard), Palos Hills’ newest head cheerleader was always eager to keep the peace. More importantly, Jake was proud of how she’d become so confident.

“You’ve changed, too, Jake,” Lissa replied. “Tamara used to yank you around, but now you’re just more you.”

Every love story ebbs and flows, so should Jake and Lissa, who genuinely reconnected on tonight’s episode, give their relationship another chance? Take the poll!

‘Challenge’ Mystery, Uncovered! Laurel Reveals The Contents Of Her Burn Book

by 06/10/14

In “Mean Girls,” the pages of the infamous “Burn Book” were reserved for horrible rumors written in poison pen, so what’s in “Challenge” competitor Laurel‘s version?

Zach, who spotted Laurel feverishly scribbling in her trusty notepad on more than one occasion in Uruguay, predicted she had a hit list or spell book brewing, but now, in the “Challenge: Free-For-All” clip below, the often ruthless vet comes clean about its actual contents.

“If you could read a page, you’d be shocked,” she says to Jordan and Zach. “It’s mostly positive.”

WHAT?! The woman who cheered for someone other than her BFF Cara Maria in last week’s episode is composing sunshiny verses? The very same cast member who vowed to show no mercy to Theresa is spewing literary rainbows? Whaddyaknow!

Zach, meanwhile, explains that his fascination with the diary stemmed from the fact that there was very little to do in the “Challenge” house — and that boredom would often lead to paranoia.

“When someone’s writing, it’s just like a big, fat pimple that you just notice more,” he semi-jokes, adding that watching Laurel in the act put more than a few dark thoughts in his head. “‘Wonder what she’s writing about. Maybe I’m going home tomorrow. Maybe I’m gonna die. Maybe she put rat poison in the food.’”

Hear more about Laurel the author’s great works, and tune in to the next “Free Agents” episode Thursday night at 10/9c!

Happy Anniversary To Jay Cutler And Kristin Cavallari!

If the traditional gift for a one-year wedding anniversary is paper, here’s hoping Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari have a knack for origami!

The man and wife, who officially wed last June 8, celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary yesterday. And K-Cav couldn’t help but gush over the memory by posting the above photo to her Instagram account. Time to bust into the freezer for the cake’s top tier!

The couple, who are parents to two sons, Camden and Jaxon, seem to have Cleaver-level coupledom figured out. But the road to marriage was a bumpy one: Last year, Kristin admitted that she blew Jay off the first time he asked her out. But after much persistence, he won her over, and by April 2011, they were engaged.

But in the summer of 2011, just three months after Kristin accepted Jay’s proposal, the two called off their wedding. The news tore through the “Hills” universe like a hurricane, but the couple proved to be a force greater than nature when they reconciled by December of that year.

Finally, last June, the couple legalized their commitment while surrounded by 150 guests at the Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville. We always knew K-Cav would be a summer bride…

Now, Jay and Kristin seem to be livin’ the dream, and their lil’ family of four is nothing short of picturesque. Congrats, you two!

Here’s Why Lauren And Lisbeth Are Laugh-Out-Loud Funny On ‘Faking It’

by 06/09/14

Lauren
may not have the social pull she’d hoped for as Hester High School’s newest student on “Faking It,” but at least she’s got the unwavering (albeit grudging) support of Lisbeth.

Sure, her pal’s name is actually Elizabeth. And sure, Elizabeth would probably be happier hanging with friends who weren’t so darn critical. But Lisbeth remains Lauren’s lackey, and in an admittedly weird way, we’re kind of glad she does. IT’S CALLED COMEDIC RELIEF, PEOPLE!

From the moment that Lauren demanded Lisbeth prepare her ideal between-class tanning spot, the girls’ dynamic was clear — one has led, and the other has followed. Still, Lisbeth’s the one who spilled the beans about Lauren’s alleged pill addiction on last week’s episode…so can she still be trusted to serve as Lauren’s second-in-command?

We’ll ponder that question while you take a look at some of our favorite LisGIFs, below. And be sure to catch the “Faking It” season finale tomorrow night at 10:30/9:30c!

The ‘Teen Wolf’ Season 4 Trailer, By The Numbers

by 06/09/14

As they say, there’s no rest for the wicked. And while Beacon Hills has been to hell and back (and suffered the loss of one of its most noble heroes, Allison Argent, along the way) a new breed of evil is already poised to strike. Here’s hoping Scott McCall and his “Teen Wolf” friends can pick their heads up quickly.

In the trailer for the show’s fourth season, which premieres on June 23 at 10/9c, a resurrected Kate Argent and a mysterious being known as The Benefactor both threaten to tear the small town apart once again. But can our favorite supernatural/human-hybrid wolfpack stand their ground? See what’s to come, and take a more critical look at the clip, with our by-the-numbers handbook:

Severed heads: 1
Who’s now sans a noggin in Beacon Hills? It’s hard to tell, but we’re suddenly yearning for turtlenecks.

Missing lips: 2
Is this the mysterious Benefactor? If he’s as rich as his name indicates, he should consider some elective surgery.

Instances in which Lydia looks seriously distraught: 3
Beacon Hills’ favorite banshee is back, but she doesn’t seem too happy. When she gets that look on her face, you know death is just around the corner.

Lacrosse stick sightings: 4
The Oni ensured we didn’t see much of Beacon Hills’ finest athletes last season, but it looks like there’s plenty of action to come in Season 4 — even Kira appears to have taken up the sport.

‘Free Agents’ Castoff Cohutta Explains Why Size Matters

by 06/06/14

This “Challenge” season’s resident David regularly went up against some Goliaths — and came out on top on more than one occasion — but last night’s episode finally signaled his defeat.

That’s right: After putting up a good fight against Leroy in “Balls In,” Southern charmer Cohutta was sent packing on “Free Agents.” And he blames the loss on the weight difference between himself and the gladiator.

“I don’t mind being an underdog, necessarily, but I do like to see the playing field leveled a little bit,” the “Real World: Sydney” export, who hadn’t appeared on MTV since “The Ruins,” says in the interview clip below. He explains that he hoped to wrestle Leroy to the ground to gain the upper hand in the head-to-head battle, but that blew up in his face — and his slight stature ultimately did him in.

“Looking back on other Challenges, I’ve never went in against anybody my size, on anything,” he tells us. “That’s probably because there’s nobody my size on the damn show.”

Keep your head up, ‘Hutta! We, like your “Free Agents”-watching grandpa, are still big fans.

Lauren Conrad’s Bachelorette Party Don’ts Will Spare You Much Shame

by 06/06/14

Thanks to Lauren Conrad‘s Ladylike Laws website column, we know how to responsibly enjoy a friend’s wedding, but when it comes to pre-gaming the big day with your best gal pals, what are the ground rules? As her own nuptials approach, LC took some time to enlighten us on proper bachelorette party protocol, and according to her playbook, the cardinal rule is to NOT, under any circumstances, upstage the bride-to-be. In other words: No Kristin Wiig’ing out.

And the “Hills” alum has quite a few more don’ts to consider before you get all “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” (So false BTW.)

Between what to wear to which photos are appropriate to post to social media, Lauren makes sure there’s no confusion over what’s acceptable. For instance, don’t wear anything that will get you confused for a streetwalker. “While it can be tempting to wear that too-short dress for a night out in Vegas, think twice before you head out in an outfit that you’ll regret the next day,” she advises. But…but…

And while we’re on the topic of what’s too much, be sure to keep your drinking in check. “It’s definitely fun to have a few cocktails with your best girlfriends and celebrate one of the most exciting times in a friend’s life, but trust me, you’ll want to be able to soak up every minute with your friends instead of being stuck in bed with a hangover headache.” So whether you’ve ...

Which Free Agent’s Side Are You On: Laurel’s Or Cara Maria’s?

by 06/06/14

Since mending fences as “Rivals” after some serious tension on “Cutthroat,” Cara Maria and Laurel have been the best of friends in the “Challenge” circuit, and have helped each other out whenever possible. But tonight, after a pretty arbitrary argument, the girls found themselves at odds again, and when The Draw sentenced Cara Maria to yet another elimination round against Jess, it was the “Real World: Portland” alum that Laurel wound up rooting for.

Cara Maria, who’d gotten the mistaken impression that Laurel was considering voting her into an elimination round, felt bullied by the one person she thought she could trust, and was tired of being condescended to by her supposed pal. Laurel, on the other hand, blamed her harsh words on frustrations with CM’s paranoia, and in the “Challenge: Free-For-All” clip below, she goes on to explain that she had no ill-will toward Cara while encouraging Jess; she was just playing the game.

“Here were my emotions,” Laurel narrates in the video as she points to an imaginary switch. “And I just went ‘off!’”

“I can’t be sensitive anymore,” she adds. “It’s game time.”

Ultimately, Cara won her battle, but her relationship with Laurel is now totally strained. Do you think she has reason to be upset, or are Zach and Jordan right to say she’s playing the victim a little too well?

‘Awkward.’ Poll: Should Jenna Have Come To Jailbird Matty’s Rescue?

by 06/05/14

On “Awkward” Season 3, Matty McKibben might as well have donned a cape and tights, because he was Jenna Hamilton‘s unequivocal superman. When Palos Hills High School’s most famous blogger wound up all alone after abandoning her friends and family for Collin, Matty refused to leave her in the dust, and helped her get back on solid ground. But, episode” target=”_blank”>as of late the tables have turned, and Jenna hasn’t been so inclined to return the favor.

On last week’s episode, after getting caught drinking in public, Matty and Jake landed in the slammer, and even though Matty wasn’t willing to call Jenna — whose number he knew by heart, but whom he’d been giving the cold shoulder — Eva reached out on his behalf. Still, she got nowhere fast. “Matty’s self-destructive streak had hit an all-time high,” Jenna thought as she mulled over Eva’s request. “It wasn’t my responsibility to be his savior anymore.”

EvaAsk

Jenna told Eva to contact Matty’s brother, who’d know how to handle bailing Matty out, but it was ultimately the quick thinking of Sadie Saxton that finally set the guys free. (We love this girl more and more each week.)

Considering all that Matty did for Jenna, did she owe him some compassion? Or had Matty pushed her too far away to expect her concern? Take the poll!
