Which Two Of These ‘Copycats’ Should Duke It Out In The Big Cat Finals?

by 05/29/14

For all those shower singers and in-car crooners who think they can perform today’s chart-toppers better than the pop stars who first made the tunes famous, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is. On Monday, June 2 at 3/2c, MTV’s new competition show, “Copycat,” will pit vocalists against each other in a series of heats, until one contestant is deemed the superior feline. The grand prize? A cool $5,000!

Each “Copycat” episode will be broken up into three preliminary “catfights.” The winner of the first two heats will earn tentative spots in the Big Cat Finals, but if the winner of the third scores higher than either, he or she will snatch a seat away and go head-to-head against the surviving artist for a shot at the cash.

Below are sneak peeks at the first episode’s three catfights. Watch ‘em all, vote which two contestants should move on and be sure to tune in to the “Copycat” premiere on Monday!

How To Fake A Teenage Lesbian Love Affair, à La Karmy — In GIFs!

by 05/29/14

The concept was simple: Amy and Karma would pretend to be a lesbian couple, finally find some footing in Hester High School’s popular crowd and, in Karma’s case, land the hottest guy in school, Liam. And so far, so good. Though Lauren and Shane both know the girls’ secret, Karmy have still got everyone else on “Faking It” fooled, and though their friendship has hit a few small bumps along the way, everything seems to be coming up roses for the time being.

So how have a couple of BFFs who were recently obscure to the student body pulled off such a stunt? Here are five tips we’ve taken away from watching Amy and Karma seize the “class couple” title — check ‘em out, and keep watching “Faking It” Tuesday nights at 10:30/9:30c!

Go big for the reveal: If you want tremendous results, you’ve gotta come out swinging, and when Amy swallowed her fears and kissed Karma in front of a packed gym, she ensured they definitely wouldn’t be ignored. No turning back from there!

Don’t let anyone stand in your way: Amy was rightfully gutted when she realized her mother wasn’t so approving of gays and lesbians, but rather than cower and hide in self-protection, Amy put her “relationship” with Karma right out there where her mother — and anyone watching the 6 p.m. news — could see it.

Take advantage of social media: Let’s face it, selfies are ...

Is All Hope Lost For The ‘Awkward.’ BFGFBFF?

by 05/29/14

If it wasn’t already clear, Tamara and Jake have gone KAPUT. After breaking up toward the beginning of this “Awkward” season, they’ve been completely at odds, and on the latest episode, their standoff climaxed when T destroyed her ex’s harmonica with a banana (the horror!). Val tried to mend their relationship by pointing to Jenna and Matty as role models for platonic former lovebirds, but truthfully, they haven’t been too keen on each other, either.

Ever since Matty found out he was adopted, J-Town’s had real trouble getting her ex to open up, and when she tried to prove she was cool with Matty dating other gals by setting him up with Eva, it blew up in her face. She told Matty he had her “blessing,” but he felt patronized in the process, and pulled away. It was only a short time ago that Jatty and Jakara had PHHS in the palms of their hands — is there any hope for these two couples to reunite? Or, of more concern, can they even be friends?

It’s been T’s high school dream to execute the perfect BFGFBFF (Boyfriend Girlfriend Best Friends Forever Double Date [DD is implied], in case you’ve forgotten). Is there still hope it could happen?

‘Free Agents’ GIF Of The Week: Zach Hulks His Way Out Of Saran Wrap

by 05/29/14

Surviving “The Challenge” means facing down your biggest fears — for Diem, it’s heights, for Cara Maria, it’s water, and on last week’s “Free Agentsepisode, we learned that for Zach, it’s premium plastic wrap. The show’s resident Goliath became totally claustrophobic after being bound in the clingy kitchen supply during “Sausage Party,” and though he came away with a second-place finish, he couldn’t stop the panicked freak-out that had been bubbling up throughout the obstacle course. Guess we can assume he chooses paper at the grocery checkout!

On the next episode, trouble will come off the field, though, with kinda-sorta couple Nany and Cohutta. The pair seems to be getting along famously, but Nany is convinced she’s destined to screw things up in the sneak peek below. “I don’t want to hurt you,” she says repeatedly to her pseudo-BF at the bar, but like a self-fulfilling prophecy, when she gets home, she and Johnny find themselves in a compromising position between the sheets (or, more accurately, on top of a couch). “I don’t know where it came from,” she says in retrospect. “I don’t really like Johnny like that, but it is what it is.”

What’ll happen between Nany and Cohutta? Find out on the next “Free Agents” episode, tonight at 10/9c!

Could You Have Kept Your Cool In The Face Of ‘Catfish’ Kidd Cole’s Lies?

by 05/28/14

On tonight’s “Catfish,” Internet detectives Nev Schulman and Max Joseph ventured into new territory, taking on a case that had nothing to do with online romance. A Washington D.C. man named Kidd Cole, who claimed to be a music producer under Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. label, threw the guys — and a young Philadelphia resident named Lucille — for quite a loop, and even though the trio collected mounting evidence that pointed to Kidd as a shameless scam artist, he copped to Ab. So. Lute. Ly. Nothing.

Lucille, who met Kidd through Twitter, said she was first drawn to him for his talent, and explained that since they’d hit it off so quickly, he felt comfortable asking her for help. Even though the two had never met, and didn’t live in the same city, she said Kidd commissioned her to organize things like limo drivers and security for press events and performances, but when it came time to pay the bills, he disappeared. Lucille, who was hoping her good work might amount to a career in the record industry, quickly realized she was being duped, and after some research, Nev and Max discovered she wasn’t the only one.

Lucille

The guys eventually found a Facebook page labeling Kidd as a notorious con artist, and stumbled upon dozens of stories of the supposed producer cheating hard-working people out of hundreds, sometimes even thousands, of dollars. Nev, Max and Lucille were surprised that he was willing ...

‘Faking It’ Poll: Should Amy Have Just Said No To The Threesome?

by 05/27/14

If you ask us, Amy deserves a medal for keeping up with her “Faking It” charade. Not only did she reluctantly agree to be her best friend’s girlfriend to help Karma land Hester High School’s hottest guy, Liam, Amy also realized she has sincere feelings for Karma in the process, and has still managed to keep her cool. Last week, though, when Karma felt Liam slipping away, Karma suggested that she, Amy and Liam have a threesome in last-ditch desperation, and somehow, things got even more complicated for Amy.

At first, Amy was completely (and understandably) opposed to the thought of bedding her BFF and the hunky artist, but when Amy’s gay sight guide, Shane, gave the idea his thumbs-up, and argued it could help Amy determine whether she and Karma were romantically compatible, Amy decided to put her few lingering inhibitions aside and go for it.

Bed

Some sexy lingerie, lessons in foreplay and a motel room later, the trio was stuck in an awkward deadlock, unsure of how to kick off the romp. Unwilling to let the plan fall apart, Amy finally stepped up, kissed Karma, and then kissed Liam. But just when the windows started to get fogged up, Karma said she couldn’t follow through, and fled the scene. She’d been the tryst’s mastermind, but when she saw Amy and Liam lock lips, something didn’t sit well.

Though she was only trying to help her friend, Amy has somehow set ...

‘Awkward.’ Mirror On The Wall, Who’s The Meanest Of Them All: Sadie Or Eva?

by 05/27/14

For years, Sadie Saxton has been the uncontested Mean Queen of Palos Hills High School — if you walked in a room and noticed the temperature drop, chances are, she made it plummet. On tonight’s “Awkward” episode, though, she finally saw a worthy opponent in PHHS new girl, Eva, and though the former Manhattanite had been sweet so far, she proved she could unleash the claws when she felt compelled to scratch.

Tired of Sadie’s bitchy banter, the transfer student pulled out the big guns and threatened to show Sadie’s boyfriend a picture of the former head cheerleader snuggling up with Matty McKibben. The moment between the pals was genuinely innocent, but Eva suspected its leaking might lead to a breakup between Sadie and her guy. When Sadie came clean about kissing Matty — even though it meant nothing — Austin gave his girl the heave-ho and Eva proved herself to be a master manipulator. Icy, girl!

Mean2

Later, when Eva noticed Matty and Jake, with whom she’d been drinking in Jake’s convertible, getting accosted by a police officer, she didn’t stop to help and, instead, ran in the opposite direction. True, she might not have been too much help much with the cop, but the fact that she’d been the one who organized the pregame, and then acted as if she had nothing to do with it at all, proved she was looking out for herself, first and foremost. With a friend like Eva…

Did Jordan Really Make The ‘Biggest Bonehead Move’ In ‘Challenge’ History?

by 05/22/14

Jordan wanted a big fight, and on tonight’s “Free Agents” episode, he got precisely that. After weeks of declaring himself superior to nemesis Johnny Bananas and assuring anyone in earshot that he’d easily take JB out in an elimination round, Jordan was finally given the chance to put his money where his mouth was, but ultimately, it was Bananas who ate up the cash.

In “Sausage Party,” competitors were challenged to roll through a food-stained obstacle course while completely bound by plastic wrap. When Jordan saw that his good “Portland” pal, (the other) Johnny, was in the lead, and that JB, who’d be eligible for an elimination round without a win, wasn’t far behind, Jordan decided to stay toward the back of the group and sentence himself to The Draw. In his eyes, if Johnny voted in JB, Jordan could approach The Draw first, flip over each card and guarantee himself a spot in a face-off with Bananas. Still, he had his reservations.

“I’m probably setting myself up for the biggest bonehead move in ‘Challenge’ history,” he said to Laurel as he mulled over his master plan.

Jordan’s scheme worked, and when he got to the elimination round, he puffed out his chest, strapped on his helmet and went for it. At first, he and Bananas were neck and neck while ascending “Wrecking Wall,” but at some point in the heat of the action, Jordan lost his footing, fell to the ground and JB hit the ...

Which ‘Free Agent’ Has Got The Sexy Selfie Down Pat?

by 05/22/14

Free Agents” competitors Laurel, Jordan and Devyn know how to strap on their game faces, but can they also master the art of the seductive pout? After the trio fearlessly played Truth or Dare in our “Free-For-All” after show, we challenged them to see who can produce the sexiest selfie, and in this bonus clip, they take three very different approaches to get things good and steamy.

First up is Devyn, who brushes back her hair in preparation, projects a striking smize and hits click. “This is what Devyn looks like when she wakes up,” Jordan assesses as he watches Dev make love to the lens. Think the snap is worthy of first place?

DevynSelfie

Next, Laurel, who seems a little uncomfortable with the concept of a provocative shot, flips the script on the game, and delivers a lemon-face that would have McDonald’s Grimace character crying out in envy. “Is that the face that gets Jordan every time?” Devyn jokes. Does Laurel get some credit for her funny take on the game?

Finally, Jordan, who’s afraid he’ll be upstaged by the ladies’ beauty, decides to work with what he’s got, and rips off his shirt to try to gain a competitive edge. “You look like an action superhero!” Devyn says as she checks out the product of Jordan’s efforts. Will his boldness earn your vote?
