Watch Janelle Monáe Sing ‘Power Of Yet’ With The ‘Sesame Street’ Gang

by 15 mins ago

If you can’t remember how to get, how to get to Sesame Street, don’t worry, Janelle Monáe’s got you covered.

The soulful, pompadoured singer stopped by the long-running children’s television show to perform “Power of Yet.”

It’s an uplifting tune about the power of persistence, but her version was made even more inspiring with help from Elmo, Bert, Grover, Big Bird and the rest of the gang.

“You tried to dance, but you tripped on your own feet, just breathe don’t lose control, keep trying and you’ll reach your goal, you just didn’t get it yet, but you’ll make it soon I’ll beeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, it’s the power of yet,” she sings while dancing in her trademark androgynous tuxedo.

Of course, the most adorable part is when everyone’s favorite ravenous cutie pie Cookie Monster isn’t quite as good at baking his beloved treats as he at consuming them—yet!

Watch the full clip below to get a nice, encouraging boost.

Kendrick Lamar Tells Chris Brown ‘You Reaping What You Sow’ On ‘Autumn Leaves’

by 14 mins ago

Just in time for the change of season, Chris Brown’s Kendrick Lamar-assisted “Autumn Leaves” leaked on the Internets Wednesday (September 10).

The “Loyal” crooner slows things all the way down on this Bam and Roccstar-produced track, even delving into his emo side.

“I seems that all the autumn leaves are falling/I feel like you’re the only reason for it/All the things you do, all the things you, do all the things you do,” he sings on the melancholy chorus.

Buoyed by the pulsing bass line that pumps like an electrocardiogram, the Grammy Award-winning singer pours out his heart using the metaphoric imagery of leaves falling to the ground before passing the baton to K.Dot.

“When you’re outlandish and you lose manners, to God you shall consult/When the bright cameras are still cramming in your face and it provoke/You to act mannish, just stay planted, because you reaping what you sow,” he raps in his signature iambic pentameter.

You can pre-order X, which drops next week on September 16, on iTunes now, and listen to the new collab below.

This Guy Just Made The Coolest Wolverine Hand Ever

by 26 mins ago

We’ve all heard of lending someone a helping hand, but the good folks over at e-NABLE took things a step, er, claw further with their latest project: a prosthetic Wolverine hand—-with claws!

Snikt!

wolvelongx

Aaron Brown, one of the many volunteers with e-NABLE who help create and design 3D Printed assistive hand devices for those in need, wanted to build a really cool hand to take to a local children’s hospital, as well as the MakerFaire in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

So, the comic book fanboy combined the idea of using the University of Michigan’s Wolverine mascot and, of course, the enormously popular member of the X-Men for his own eye-popping creation.

“The comic-loving nerd inside of me (along with some Facebook friends) said there is no way I can make a Wolverine hand without CLAWS,” Brown said. “So I modeled some in Sketchup the morning before the MakerFaire, printed ‘em, spray-painted ‘em silver and velcro’d ‘em on there. Turned out pretty darn cool!”

No kiddin’, Bub.

The kiddos, of course, loved it.

“People’s faces just lit up!” he added. “The kids went crazy over it.”

And don’t worry, parents, the claws on this hand are made of rounded plastic and are removable; they aren’t made of indestructible adamantium.

‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ Reunion Part 3: The Bromance Is Over

by 12 mins ago

Say goodbye to Sleazo and Zino.

First the Fat Boys break up, now this.

Former BFFs Stevie J and Benzino made their breakup official Monday (September 8) night on the final installment of the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion show.

Stevie had no regrets about engaging his former best bud in fisticuffs and Zino, well, he had “no comment.”

“LHHATL” executive producer Stefan Springman sat down with Steebie and Joseline Hernandez and Benzino and Althea to get each couple’s side of the story on what started the fight and what it meant moving forward.

Benzino lost his cool, again, and had to be restrained, again, when Springman kept prodding past his “no comment” answers.

“You punk motherf–ker!” he yelled. “You want a show?”

After calming down and apologizing, the Hip Hop Weekly publisher admitted that it wouldn’t be easy to get over his bromance with Stevie, that he was concerned about Thi Thi post-fight and reiterated his not-so-warm-and-fuzzy feelings about the Puerto Rican Princess.

“F–k yes, she feels she can do anything she want,” he said. “If she don’t get help, nothing good’s gonna come out of that situation.”

While Zino continued to bash his opponents, Althea mostly just nodded and parroted what her fiance had to say.

“He’s a wimp, Stevie’s a weirdo,” he continued. “I get it. He’s standing by his girl. At the end of the day, she gon’ get him hurt.”

For his final parting shot, Benzino admitted that Joseline was the reason his friendship with Sleazo was over.

“Their relationship is like a ...

That’s right, the “Anaconda” MC confirmed it herself Tuesday night (September 9) on Twitter: her long-awaited new album will hit the shelves on November 24.

It was previously reported that the Young Money rapper’s third solo LP would be released on November 28, but that wasn’t exactly official.

No self-respecting Barb will complain, though, about getting the project they’ve been eagerly anticipating four days earlier.

Charlie Hunnam Reveals Anxiety Issues Made Him Quit ’50 Shades Of Grey’

by 5 mins ago

You know the old saying: pressure can bust pipes.

Charlie Hunnam‘s plumbing didn’t explode, of course, but the anxiety of bringing Christian Grey to life in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie nearly made him burst from the seams. So the “Sons of Anarchy” star bowed out of the role, gracefully.

“I wouldn’t have signed up in the first place if I didn’t want to do it,” Hunnam told Us Weekly recently. “It was a really, really difficult time in my life. I had already been attached to ‘Crimson Peak’ for about 14 months, which I said, I was going to do with [director] Guillermo del Toro.”

The 34-year-old actor signed on to play the sexually charged business mogul after his meeting with director Sam Taylor-Johnson confirmed that the two had the same vision for the steamy adaptation.

“Sam and I just fell in love, creatively,” Hunnam said. “We started talking about this thing and I just felt so excited. I fell in love with the character and started seeing him and becoming intoxicated, which is the way I work: I find a character I love and I start thinking about it all the time.”

The collaboration was not meant to be, though, because of Hunnam’s scheduling conflicts, so two months after he was cast, he dropped out.

“I just said, ‘I can’t … I can’t …,’” Hunnam said. “To fail on such a grand scale — because ‘Fifty”s going ...

Watch Nicki Minaj Teach These NYFW Models The ‘Anaconda’ Dance

by 23 mins ago

The models at this past weekend’s Alexander Wang show came dressed to kill, but did they come ready to work those buns, hun?

You be the judge.

While backstage at Wang’s New York Fashion Week spring 2015 RTW show, Nicki Minaj taught four models how to do the choreography from her very provocative “Anaconda” video.

Flanked by two beauties on each side, the “Pills & Potions” MC proceeded to instruct her students on the finer points of raising and splitting their legs in the air and, of course, twerking.

Oh my God, Becky, look at Irina Kravchenko, Ewa Wladymiruk, Valery Kaufman and Aleah Morgan shake what their Mommas gave them!

Wale Gets An Assist From Jeremih On R. Kelly-Inspired ‘The Body’

by 24 mins ago

Wale channels his inner R. Kelly on his new Jeremih-assisted single, “The Body.”

The track, which is heavily influenced by the Pied Piper’s 1995 hit, “You Remind Me of Something,” is fueled by its hypnotic, erotic beat and the clever automotive analogies the MMG rapper uses to describe his love interest.

“You remind me of my Jeep, I wanna ride it/ You’re something like my car, got the keys to them, need the keys to you,” Jeremih sings on the hook.

Simply put, the Gifted MC’s woman’s got a body like a Benz that he wants to take for a spin.

“A good woman is scarce to us, and I wasn’t prepared to love/ I know it sound crazy but your miles scare me/ I’m just here cause your character good,” Wale raps.

If this first official single from the upcoming The Album About Nothing LP — which features a collabo with funnyman Jerry Seinfeld — is any indication, Wale’s new project is shaping up nicely.

The Game Gets ‘Freaky’ In New ‘Or Nah’ Video

by 9 mins ago

The Game lets loose some freaky tales in the new video for “Or Nah.” The Matt Alonzo-directed clip finds the Compton rapper at a debauchery-themed party surrounded by scantily clad women.

Fittingly, the ladies gyrate and twerk on cue while the Cali MC and his boys ride the track, which borrows heavily from Too $hort‘s classic song “Don’t Fight the Feeling.”

“Ever since we did ‘Dope Boys,’ ‘Martians vs. Goblins’ and ‘Celebration,’ [Matt Alonzo] has been my go to director,” Game told MTV News recently, while on set in Los Angeles. “He writes the treatment and I just show up at the video and it always turns out cool. You’ve gotta trust your team.”

Year Of The Wolf, The Game’s upcoming Blood Money compilation, drops next month.
