‘Gotham’ First Look: Here’s The Penguin

Batman's coming to television — or, at least, many of his greatest villains are.

Fox's "Gotham" pilot is currently in production, now that the show's main cast has been finalized. The series focuses on rookie detective Jim Gordon before he became commissioner of Gotham City, and his budding friendship with young Bruce Wayne, immediately following the homicide of the future Batman's parents.

Given the focus on Wayne and Gordon's early years, fans can expect to see equally early versions of some of the other popular figures in the "Batman" universe. Case in point: Robin Lord Taylor, briefly seen on "The Walking Dead" as an ill-fated zombie-survivor, who joins "Gotham" as Oswald Cobblepot — the aspiring low-level gangster destined to become the ruthless Penguin.

While we're still not sure when we'll see the pilot, or a trailer for that matter, we already have an early look at "Gotham," courtesy of on-set photographs from Splash News. Here's what Taylor looks like as Cobblepot:

Pretty quacking good, right? The oversized glasses, the bow tie, the greasy hair — all of it comes together to create the full Penguin package. Great stuff.

As a bonus, do you see the newspaper Cobblepot is reading? It features a first look at Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon and Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, two of the GCPD's finest. Looks like their hunt for Thomas and Martha Wayne's killer has reached some sort of conclusion, but smart money says there's more to the story than meets the eye.

What do you think of the "Gotham" first look? Let us know ...

‘Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Has A Deathlok Problem

I like now more than ever. Interesting things are happening on the series. Two of the S.H.I.E.L.D. members have died (or borderline died) and subsequently been resurrected by mysterious serums mined from giant blue alien-ish creatures that appear to be Frost Giants. That does not suck.

Plus, with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" coming up, there's inevitable fallout hitting S.H.I.E.L.D. in the coming weeks, too. Double plus, there's Bill Paxton and the coming arrival of Adrian Pasdar. Triple plus, there's the fact that Deathlok is already here. All good things, right?

Well, maybe not the last one.

New images from an upcoming episode of "S.H.I.E.L.D.," titled "End of the Beginning," have arrived online, giving us our best look yet at what disfigured ex-agent Mike Peterson looks like as the cybernetic Deathlok. Spoiler alert: It ain't pretty, and not in the right way. Avert your eyes now if you don't want to see.

Seriously, go away if you want to wait to see him until the episode premieres in two weeks. Because here he is:

As our friends from a different sci-fi show might respond: "What the frak?"

We've already seen that Deathlok is assembling himself piece by piece. He has the eye implant courtesy of the technology first introduced through Akela Amadaor in "Eye-Spy." He has the bionic leg as seen in the Skye-falling "T.R.A.C.K.S." Now, it looks like he'll have some wrist and chest-mounted support by the time "End of the Beginning" airs on April 1.

(Yes, it's another two weeks until a new "S.H.I.E.L.D." ...

‘The Raid 2’ NSFW Clip: It’s Hammer Time

Two years ago, director Gareth Evans started a revolution in the action movie genre. His film, "The Raid," became a favorite at film festivals before rolling out in a limited release that spawned a cult following.

And now he and his team of expert martial artists are back for "The Raid 2," and MTV News has an exclusive (and NSFW) clip from the upcoming sequel.

Anyone who saw the original "Raid" understood immediately that it wasn't like anything Hollywood was putting into theaters. For one, it had a straightforward premise. An elite SWAT team enters a tenement building, filled with criminals, to arrest the drug lord who sits at the top. That's the entire story, and the thing just goes from there.

But it doesn't just go. It rockets forward. The characters in "The Raid" fight in the pencak silat style — a signature of Evans' movies — and fights are kinetic and non-stop. That style has been carried over to "The Raid 2," but the scope of the story has been blown out in a big way.

Iko Uwais, who played the hero Rama in "The Raid," is back for the follow-up, which picks up the story just minutes after the end of the original. After making his way to the top of the tower, the cop is sent undercover to expose corruption within the police and take out the syndicate for good.

Over the course of the film's massive two and a half hour runtime, we meet a host of new characters, including Hammer Girl, who's featured in our exclusive clip.

Redman Confirms Plans For Blackout! 3 And Muddy Waters 2

With Def Jam celebrating 30 years as hip-hop's most storied record label, it's only fitting that one of its banner artists, Redman, has some big things brewing for nostalgic rap fans.

First up for the Funk Doctor Spock is the third installment of Blackout! his popular collaborative album series with longtime partner in rhyme, Method Man. With a laundry lists of classic tracks like ""Da Rockwilder," "How High" and "A-YO" on their collabo curriculum vitae, it's no wonder fans are chomping at the bit for another sonic bite of that '90s-era flow.

"We gon' do Blackout! 3," Redman assured MTV News backstage at Def Jam's 30th Anniversary showcase at SXSW. "RZA, Erick Sermon, get y'all asses up! Rockwilder, get yo muthaf--kin' ass up! We need a Blackout! 3 album. Once we get our beats from RZA, Erick Sermon and Rockwilder, then we can take other producers that wanna be a part of the Redman and Method Man experience."

For fans of the classic LP Muddy Waters, Red has a sequel of sorts in the works that'll bring back that old hip-hop love affair with samples.

"I'm coming out with a Muddy Waters 2. It's gon be called Even Muddier. I'm not trying to top the Muddy Waters album. What I'm doing by naming it Muddy Waters 2 is to let you relive that '90s kind of sound and experience," he said, referring to the beats he's choosing for the follow-up. "It's not gonna be sounding too much New Wave. Not too much high hats, you know the fast high hats? None of ...

Did Courtney Love Find Missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370?

Call off the dogs: Courtney Love has a lead on that missing Malaysian Airlines plane.

Nine days after flight MH370 went missing, the Hole frontwoman took to Facebook to share her theory, pointing to an ocean-view photo and claiming, "I'm no expert, but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick."

The Beijing-bound Boeing 777, carrying 239 passengers, disappeared on March 8. The last signal received from the craft came in at 1:19 a.m., with the co-pilot stating, "All right, good night" to air traffic controllers. Immediately following, the transponder was shut down.

Love followed up her photographic proof with some hard facts, citing "It's like a mile away, Pulau Peak, where they 'last' tracked it, 5°39'08.5"N 98°50'38.0"E, but what do I know?"

The last confirmed siting of MH370's location was noted at 2:14 a.m. by military radar as it headed west over the Strait of Malacca, and an additional satellite record at 8:11 a.m. indicated a faint, final "ping" from the disabled ACARS system.

Theories surrounding the whereabouts of the missing craft have run the gamut from piracy and terrorism to alien abductions. Although it feels unlikely Courtney Love would solve the mystery, she's only aiding search efforts by searching through the satellite image database at tomnod.com.

Ariana Grande Is Super Sad About Chris Brown’s Jail Sentence

We're sure many people were upset when Chris Brown was ordered to spend a month in jail after violating his probation.

But no one seemed quite as despondent as fellow pop sensation Ariana Grande, who took to Twitter shortly after the news spread Monday afternoon to say: "Oy vey."

You see, the Yours Truly singer got "buttaflies" working on a long-simmering collaboration with Brown, a joint called "Don't Be Gone Too Long." After weeks of teasing fans with curious tweets and one intimate Instagram photo of the pair in dance rehearsals, the two formally kicked off a countdown to the duet on Sunday, just one day before a judge ordered him back behind bars.

Naturally, that countdown is going to have to be pushed back.

"sooo.... i have bad news and good news.... but just please keep in mind how much i love you and how i wish more than you do that this wasn't the case... ok so.... my loves... so obviously some things have changed recently... so we have to delay the dbgtl countdown... some things are out of our control," Grande said in a series of tweets Monday afternoon.

The "The Way" singer was fiercely apologetic to her fans, saying "nothing upsets me more than upsetting you" and "i love you and I wish there was something I could do," even making it up to them by giving them a preview of some music via an Instagram video straight from the recording studio. She wouldn't tell us what track it is, but Brown doesn't drop any lines in ...
