‘The Walking Dead’: Predictions For Tonight’s Episode ‘Alone’

Don't watch alone. It's scary. Do watch "The Walking Dead" episode "Alone," with people. Still scary, but less so.

"Alone" is the name of the game on Sunday's (March 9) latest installment of the zombie series, with Maggie Greene continuing the search for her missing husband Glenn, while Daryl Dixon and Beth Greene deal with some headaches of their own.

What exactly are we going to see tonight? Your bet is as good as ours, but here are a few predictions for the events of "Alone."

1. Tonight will be the Glenn and Maggie show, minus Glenn.
From our chat with Lauren Cohan last week, we already know that Maggie will have "a completely insane" episode tonight. She's going to do her best to reconnect with husband Glenn, even if we don't think it'll quite work out.

A Maggie-Glenn reunion is absolutely in the show's future, sure, but emphasis on future. The writers want us and them to sweat it out before any flames are rekindled. It's going to be a long and lonely road before Maggie and Glenn reconnect; but when they do meet up, it'll be worth the wait.

2. Tonight will be the Bob and Sasha show, plus booze.
While we wait for Glenn and Maggie to get back together, keep an eye on a new budding romance between Sasha and Bob. Tyreese's sister and the prison group's infamous boozehound looked to be growing closer together when we saw them last in "Inmates." Can we expect the sparks to continue to fly?

I'm betting that, yes, we'll get some forward momentum ...

‘Oculus’ Producer Jason Blum Never Wants You To Look In A Mirror Again

How better to premiere a scary movie about the way we interact with one of the objects most prevalent in our lives, than with a midnight premiere at SXSW? Granted, you won't see a lot of mirrors being hawked at the tech-obsessed convention, but producer Jason Blum knew that his new film "

"I love South By because people are more relaxed here, and people are a little more off guard," Blum told MTV News in advance of the premiere. "They say things and react more freely than Sundance, or Cannes. I love the feel of this festival."

Blum is no stranger to the midnight SXSW horror screening, either. The prolific producer has stewarded mega-hits like "Paranormal Activity," "The Purge," and "Insidious;" the last of which had a successful midnight premiere at the convention in 2011.

"Oculus" is the latest jewel in Blum's scary crown, starring Karen Gillan (of the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Doctor Who") as a woman who gets mixed into a terrifying situation involving a possibly supernatural mirror. And like "Insidious," "Oculus" got its premiere at SXSW to a packed late-night crowd of excited horror fans.

"I don't like to repeat, but hopefully we'll have a different but successful premiere with this movie," Blum added. "One of my favorite things about making horror movies is, the first time you screen them in front of an audience, it's very fun to hear people audibly react to the work you put into a movie. You don't wonder at the end of the movie whether it worked or not."

‘Chef’ Director Jon Favreau Would Have Directed ‘Star Wars’ If Anyone Had Actually Asked

Jon Favreau isn't directing "Star Wars," but he would have if someone had just asked him. Or at least, that's what MTV News learned when we caught up with the director/writer/actor at SXSW while he was plugging his newest, non-space set film "

For context, back in 2012 it was rumored that the front-runners to direct "Star Wars: Episode VII" were J.J. Abrams, Matthew Vaughan, and Jon Favreau. Favreau is no stranger to the franchise, having voiced a recurring role in the animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

But to direct a feature is a large leap, and even for one experienced with scifi from his time on "Iron Man" and "Cowboys and Aliens." But as it turns out, those rumors were far from true.

"I didn't go after it," Favreau said, "but it's one of those things that, as people would say they weren't going to do it, and as there were questions coming my way as to my availability... I was really scared of the idea that nobody was gonna [do it], and so if they had come to me, I don't know how you say no to that thing."

For better or for worse, Favreau wasn't officially offered the gig and instead it went to J.J. Abrams, who is currently prepping the movie for release in December, 2015. Luckily, Favreau couldn't be happier with the choice.

"He's great because he works with the old generation, and he works with the new generation," Favreau continued. "You see what he did with 'Star Trek.' He kept the fans satisfied, because ...

The Avett Brothers Give Brooklyn A Southern Makeover At NYC Show

"Brooklyn, Brooklyn, take me in. Are you aware the shape I'm in? My hands they shake, my head it spins. Oh Brooklyn, Brooklyn, take me in."

If any lyrics were appropriate for the Avett Brothers' night in Brooklyn's Barclays Center, those would be it. Though, throughout the show, all shaky hands were steadied and Brooklyn seemed to fully embrace the four-piece band from North Carolina.

Scott and Seth, along with bandmates Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon, transformed Jay Z's home base into a full-fledged Southern party, with openers Old Crow Medicine Show kickstarting the raucous bar vibe with their cover of Tom Petty's "American Girl." There were drunk girls in plaid, ridiculously long lines to the ladies' room, beer sloshing and hair flipping (most of it coming from cellist Kwon). Fans set their beers on the stage, as if they forgot all about the arena-sized concert they were at and imagined themselves at a more intimate tavern.

That intimate feel started early, as Scott began the show solo, strumming his banjo at the end of the catwalk, fans reaching to his feet. A fiddle soon joined him, and then bass, drums, more guitar and cello, building up into 2006's "Colorshow."

The signature Avett build-up is what powers their live show, with anticipation adding with every instrument played and verse sung. "Laundry Room," played in the middle of the set, is another example of this. It begins with piano and flows slowly with organ and guitar weaving in and out of the lyrics. The brothers harmonize and start echoing each other, adding up energy. ...
