Rick Ross And Jeezy Fend Off Gun-Toting Assassins In ‘War Ready’ Video

Rick Ross and Jeezy appearing on a track together was a pipe dream just a couple of months ago, but now that the former rap foes have buried the hatchet, the pair appear to be all in.

Not only have Rozay and the Snowman linked up for the two also got together to shoot the music video. On Friday (March 7), Ross debuted the Taj-directed video on WorldStarHipHop.com, a site that (like MTV News) thoroughly documented the past feud between the rappers.

And the cinematic clip is just as dramatic as the Mike Will Made It-produced track. The cameras open on Ross in a dank warehouse, standing in the dark as a team of masked, machine gun-toting assassins make their way inside of his and Jeezy's compound. Though they were once on opposite sides of the hip-hop fence, in the clip, Jeezy and Ross stand on the same side, as bosses, prepared to defend their respective positions at all costs.

The video's story line is of course an exaggeration of real life, but Ross assures that he and Jeezy are good. Maybe they aren't literally shooting in defense of each other — but they have formed an alliance in the studio.

"Where I'm from, if you ain't shed no blood, if you ain't lose no money behind it, it's really small talk," Rozay said of his old beef with Jeezy on Wednesday during an episode of "RapFix Live." "When me and him chopped it up, we did it like bosses and said, 'Let's set an example for the ...

Hold up, are Jelena back together again?

According to reports, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted together in Texas, igniting speculation that the two have reconciled as they hit up Starbucks, a local restaurant and a perfume shop. In a photo obtained by TMZ, Gomez, who is seen trying to cover her face in a black hoodie, is standing next to a clearly visible Bieber.

On Friday, Gomez posted a photo of herself in a leather jacket and sunglasses and holding what looks to be a Starbucks cup with the the caption," Hidalgo, I've missed this :) ill see you soooon," referring to Hidalgo, Texas, where she is performing on Saturday during the 2014 BorderFest. This will mark her first performance since leaving rehab earlier this year.

Earlier this week, Bieber, who as of Thursday was in Miami giving a deposition regarding a civil suit filed against him by a photographer, posted a photo on Instagram of Gomez at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar party, the same red carpet they made their relationship public back in 2011. Bieber captioned the photo of his former flame,

Justin and Selena's latest rendezvous is the first time the two have been spotted together since they were seen ...

Being A Pimp Isn’t Fun At All, Just Ask Raz Simone

If the fact that Pharrell Williams' "Happy" is currently the #1 song in the country is a reflection of where we are musically and mentally, someone forgot to tell Raz Simone.

On Monday, the Seattle rapper and producer released Cognitive Dissonance, his first release since partnering with Lyor Cohen, Todd Moscowitz and Kevin Liles over at their new company 300.

To say that Raz's self-produced Cognitive Dissonance is moody is to barely scratch the surface. Over the course of 10 tracks, Simone unpacks complex emotions based on foul experiences and passes them onto the listener whether they want them or not.

It's almost as if Simone dares his audience not to get swept up in the despair of "They'll Speak." "It's 3 a.m. and these is what feelings sounds like," he says before he throws you all of his troubles over a barely there beat.

"I've done a lot of sh--, boxing in all of the shots/ And the c---s and the crotches, just for the profit/ My girl getting raped and then I couldn't stop it/ To top it, the plane crashed with me in the cockpit," he rhymes, before explaining how his career as a pimp and the time that he sold drugs to his aunt affected his psyche.

From the first track it is clear that Simone is no saint, on "So Far, So Far" he threatens to punch his son's mother in the face while wearing multiple rings on his fingers. It all sounds horrendous, but Simone still manages to turn the tables and gain some sense of sympathy from ...

Kendrick Lamar And Tame Impala Get Gritty For ‘Divergent’ Jam

First the Imagine Dragons at the Grammys, now Tame Impala on the "Divergent" soundtrack -- Kendrick Lamar is all about the out-there collaborations lately. The latter dropped on the Web Friday (March 7), and if you were expecting something as mind-blowing as K-Dot jumping in on "Radioactive," you won't be disappointed.

"Backwards" is a new take on Tame Impala's "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," off of their 2012 record Lonerism. A more jagged spin on the smooth jam, the ethereal chorus, ("Feels like we only go backwards") lilts in the background, overlaid by Kendrick's lightning fast rhymes: "No rules/ now feel the energy we go through/ I told you/ Put my fists like I'm supposed to/ I showed you."

The pairing might seem unexpected but, according to music supervisor Randall Poster, that's the point. The merging of the two sounds is meant to represent the collision of past and future in the "Divergent" universe — a world in decay.

"I think that one of the challenges for a movie like this is that it's set in the future and so you sort of have to figure out, 'OK, what might music in the future sound like?'" Poster told MTV News. "The film is actually set not in a perfected future, but actually kind of in a future world that is deteriorating. And so we wanted to create a musical element that had reflected on current music sounds, but also felt kind of time-forward and had a certain futuristic element."

Poster said he was particularly inspired by Kanye West's Yeezus when ...

What’s Going On In Ukraine? We Asked The Experts

Depending on which news feed you subscribe to, the current crisis in the Ukraine could either bring the U.S. and Russia to the brink of another Cold War, or just be the latest muscle-flexing from frequently shirtless, macho Russian president Vladimir Putin.

The reality, though, is that the clashes between pro-Western activists and troops loyal to now-ousted president Viktor Yanukovych have taken 100 lives since government protestors peacefully occupied Independence Square in Kiev in November. And now, secession talk from the southern Ukrainian region in Crimea has brought tension between American and Russia to a dangerous boil.

As the back-and-forth continues, MTV News takes a look at how we got to this point:

How It Started
Anti-government protesters occupied Independence Square (known as Maidan) in November after president Yanukovych backtracked on a financial deal that would have brought Ukraine closer to integration into the democratic European Union. Instead, Yanukovych chose to ditch the EU deal in favor of closer ties to former motherland Russia.

In early December, more than 800,000 people demonstrated against the moves, marking the biggest such protests since 2004-2005 Orange Revolution that helped bring a pro-Western regime to power.

Yanukovych put new anti-protest laws in place and his police force attacked the peaceful protesters, killing at least 100 and injuring more than 600 during 48 hours of clashes from February 18-20. Opposition activists were also abducted and beaten in an effort to end the protests.

Why Choose Russia?
In addition to being a huge market for Ukraine's exports and supplier of much of its natural gas, Russia promised the cash-strapped nation a badly ...
