The 1975 Will Rock The 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards

Childish Gambino will have some company on March 13 at the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards when British buzz rockers the 1975 join him on stage to perform at this year's show.

The "Girls" band will play hits from their 2013 self-titled album and compete in the new Woodie Award category, the "Cover Woodie," which honors artists who've taken huge hits and made them their own. The Manchester quartet's chilled out, moody take on One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" will go up against Bastille (Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop"), Arctic Monkeys (Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home"), Vampire Weekend (Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines"), Sam Smith (Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man") and Low (Rihanna "Stay").

"We love SXSW and The Woodies will be THE party to be at," said 2013 MTV Artist to Watch the 1975. "We cannot wait to get back to Austin!" The quartet are also nominated for the emerging artist "Breaking Woodie" award.

Fans can vote for their favorite nominee on Twitter, Instagram and Vine by using custom hashtags with "#vote" in front of the name of the artist they support. A half-hour 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards special will air on MTV and mtvU on March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, celebrating the award winners and showcasing some of the best performances from the show.

Will Daft Punk Finally Perform Random Access Memories Live This Summer?

First, the bad news: Daft Punk will not be playing in front of 50,000 people at Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming. Now, the good news: They could be playing somewhere.

Wyoming's Casper Star-Tribune broke the news Wednesday that The National Park Service has officially rejected a proposal by the robots to throw a massive show near the landmark, America's first national monument. The electronic act approached the park in the fall and the idea received the full kibosh at the end of 2013.

Reed Robinson, superintendent for Devils Tower National Monument, told the Casper Star-Tribune that six Native American tribes were consulted about the idea, but they opined that the show — which would have included myriad lasers — was not in keeping with the sacredness of the site.

"This being a night skies park and a natural park and a sacred site to 24 different tribes, that would be considered sacrilegious and gets into that 'inappropriate use'," Robinson said. "And that meant maybe we would have to close portions of the main trail to facilitate this kind of stuff."

Although fans of the Grammy-winning act won't be able to take in a laser show on sacred ground any time soon, it does seem that Daft Punk will be performing in the near future. According to Robinson, the robots have been scouting locations across the world for a slate of summer shows.

Daft Punk have made scant few appearances for their most recent record, Random Access Memories, only playing live at the Grammys. And although "Get Lucky" collaborator Nile ...

‘American Idol’ Recap: Top 13 Take On ‘This Is Me’ Theme

"American Idol's" Top 13 took on the theme "This Is Me" on Wednesday, singing that one special song that defines them as a person and an artist. In past years, that theme may have yielded wall-to-wall ballads, but this year's lively bunch chose fresh and invigorating songs.

Here's how Season 13's Top 13 fared in their first true test for audiences.

Nerves Rule
In many ways, it's a whole new "Idol" this year, and that is also being reflected in what seems like the least-polished group of "Idols" to hit the stage in the show's history. Wednesday's show saw more than a handful of wobbly performances, from performers who seem physically uncomfortable onstage or who let their nerves get the best of them.

Wild child contestant Malaya Watson has bundles of energy, but couldn't channel them in the right way during her performance of Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby." Jessica Meuse, who has performed for years at clubs, was stiff as a board while taking on Shinedown's "The Crow and the Butterfly." And Sam Woolf looked like he'd just seen a ghost while performing Matchbox Twenty's "Unwell." In a sense, though, Woolf found a perfect song for the theme week, as "Unwell" described his performance better than any of the judges were able to.

Baseball Caps Everywhere
Either "Idols" weren't allowed to wear baseball caps in the past or this group of finalists is embracing them in a whole new way, but this is the most baseball-capped bunch in "Idol" history.

Three contestants — Ben Briley, C.J. Harris and MK Nobilette — wore caps on Wednesday's ...

Katy Perry Delivers A Baby In A Living Room

While most of the world spent was pondering the state of her relationship with John Mayer, Katy Perry apparently spent Wednesday doing something much more noteworthy ... like, helping deliver a baby in a living room.

Yes, according to her Twitter account, KP just got her Doula on, assisting in a home-birth that took place ... somewhere?

There's no word on just who's baby "Auntie Katy" helped deliver, though fans are speculating the new mother is actually Perry's older sister, Angela Hudson, who was expecting a child last year.

Regardless, congrats are in order all around, and not just because, like Katy quipped, she can now add another title to her ever-growing resume.

When she's not delivering babies, Perry's gearing up to kick off her Prismatic world tour in May — it hits North America in June — amidst reports that it was her prep for the tour contributed to her split from Mayer ... but, for today, maybe we should just focus on the positive: Someone had a baby! In a living room! The circle of life continues unabated.

Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ Series: 9 Actors For Matt Murdock

The hunt is on for the Man Without Fear.

On Wednesday (February 26), Marvel announced that their upcoming Netflix TV shows will shoot in New York City. The deal commits Marvel to shooting 60 original one-hour episodes of television in NYC, the city that already provides the backdrop for much of the Marvel Universe.

It all begins with "Daredevil," before moving onto subsequent series like "Jessica Jones," "Iron Fist," "Luke Cage" and the "Avengers"-modeled team-up called "The Defenders." With "Daredevil" entering production this summer, we expect casting announcements could sound out any day now — which is why we're getting ahead of that noise, and offering up nine of our own choices to play Matt Murdock while we still have the chance!

Here they are, in no particular order:

John Krasinski
He was once up for "Captain America," and later up for "Guardians of the Galaxy." Clearly, the man who once played Jim Halpert on "The Office" is on Marvel's radar. Krasinski could make his mark here as Murdock, a character who has recently been portrayed in a lighter tone than the shadowy Frank Miller-ish days of yesteryear. But Krasinski has dramatic chops, and could bring soulfulness to Murdock in his darkest hours.

Jesse Plemons
The red-head connection helps. The fact that the "Friday Night Lights" and "Breaking Bad" actor's star is in the rise certainly doesn't hurt, either. Remember that he's supposedly up for "Star Wars," unless Adam Driver just snagged his role. Assuming he hasn't already booked a trip to a galaxy far, far away, ...

Exclusive: Rocket Raccoon Spins Off ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Into Solo Comic Series

"Guardians of the Galaxy" doesn't hit theaters until August 1, but Marvel is already banking on at least one of the movie's stars. Starting in July, Marvel Comics will spin off their lovable talking raccoon with a gun, Rocket, into his own solo series. And to sweeten the pot even more it'll be written and drawn by fan-favorite writer/artist Skottie Young.

For the past five years, Young has been working on Marvel's "Oz" adaptations, providing art while doing double duty on multiple covers for Marvel's superhero line, and even finding time to write a few series and one-shots. But "Rocket Raccoon" is the first time Young will serve both as writer and artist on an ongoing series. Luckily, the job was exactly the one he wanted.

"I like any of the humorous characters, any of the ones I can have fun with," Young told MTV News when we spoke on the phone earlier this week. "And around this time 'Guardians of the Galaxy' was getting restarted, so I said if there was any of way of doing some sort of Rocket Raccoon story that would be fun too!"

Editor Sana Amanat agreed, and Young was signed up to take on Rocket as his post-"Oz" gig. Though there was no specific mandate to follow the path of the movie — and in fact, Young had no idea what the character will be like on screen — once he saw the trailer, he got a sense that things were right in line between the comic and movie versions of the character.

"Even ...
