After Separation, Robin Thicke Cancels Show Due To ‘Unforeseen Circumstances’

Robin Thicke is feeling sick. The "Blurred Lines" singer cancelled his third show in a row on Tuesday (February 25), less than 24 hours after announcing that he was separating from his wife
 of nine years, Paula Patton.

Thicke was slated to kick off his North American tour last week, but cancelled the first two dates, in Atlanta on Friday and in Orlando on Saturday, citing vocal issues. "I never want to let down my fans but I have unfortunately lost my voice and cannot perform tomorrow night," he said in a statement released last Thursday.

He postponed Tuesday night's show at the Harrah's Cherokee Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina, due to "unforeseen circumstances," according to the venue. The next date on the tour is a Thursday show at the Patriot Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Thicke and Patton, parents to 3-year-old son Julian Fuego, announced on Monday that they were splitting in a statement, which read, "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

A spokesperson for Thicke could not be reached for comment at press time on the postponed dates.

‘Avengers 3’: Is Whedon Already Onboard?

Is it too early to start talking about "The Avengers 3" yet? After all, the current sequel, has only recently begun shooting, with casting news still trickling out as production rolls along. The android-infused "Avengers" sequel doesn't arrive until May 2015, either — more than a year from now.

Still, while most hearts and minds are focused on Earth's mightiest heroes in 2015, there's reason to start thinking about their third team-up together.

In an interview with Movies.com, "Iron Man 3" writer Drew Pearce, who also wrote "All Hail the King," the Ben Kingsley-starring One-Shot about false Mandarin Trevor Slattery's imprisonment, casually mentions the name of the "Avengers 3" director — and it's a familiar one.

"One of the things when you're a writer or director in the Marvel universe is you come in, you leave some tasty morsels dangling at the end, and maybe you're the one who comes in and picks them up again next time, or maybe it's someone else, or maybe they just hang there awhile and that's fine too," Pearce said, when asked if the events of "All Hail the King" will echo in future Marvel movies. "That's all you can really hope to do. Unless you're Joss [Whedon] and you're making Avengers 2 and 3, and then you have a pretty good idea if you're making the next one or not."

If we're to take Pearce's comment at face value, then the writer just dropped a bombshell: Joss Whedon, director of "Marvel's The Avengers" and "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," is committed ...

Okay, so you've forgotten to watch any of the films nominated for the Academy Awards this year. It's not a huge deal, but I'm a little confused how you managed to skip so many amazing movies.

Not to worry. There's a way to cram in as many of 2013's most important films as you can without chaining yourself to your couch until Sunday, but it's going to take some sacrifice and some selective viewing. You're not going to be able to watch everything, so for our jam-packed Oscar catchup playlist, we're going for ease of access and likelihood of big Oscar nights.

The list might not be all-compassing, but you'll be ready for the Academy Awards. And you can always go back and catch up after the Oscars are handed out.

WATCH: "12 Years a Slave" and "Gravity"
Most Oscar pundits have the Best Picture category locked as a two-horse race, a dead heat between the culturally and historically important "12 Years a Slave" and state-of-the-art "Gravity." Plus, both are available to download from Amazon.
Watch "12 Years a Slave" and "Gravity" with these links.

SKIP: "American Hustle"
David O. Russell's latest has a huge big number of major nominations—with a total dominance in the acting categories—but "American Hustle" has fallen behind in almost every race. The only foreseeable acting win is possibly Jennifer Lawrence, and even she's behind her toughest competition, Lupita Nyong'o. And if Lawrence manages to win, her acceptance speech is the real must-watch.

‘The Voice’ Recap: Has Usher Already Found The Winner?

"The Voice" kicked off its sixth season on Monday (February 24) with bigger voices, elaborate bribes and even sharper claws as Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher pulled all the stops in order to win over the contestants.

The world's unknown desire to see country star Blake Shelton sing Shakira's hit "Whenever, Wherever" was fulfilled as the Emmy-winning singing competition opened with the four coaches performing a medley of each other's hits. But even though the well-established artists showed why they're the ones the coaching gig, the night belonged to many hopefuls who hit the stage eager to show their talents.

She Came In To Wreck The Competition
The bar was set ridiculously high when 19-year-old Christina Grimmie hit the stage for her blind audition. The New Jersey native, who already has a respectable 2 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, managed to get three of the four coaches to turn their chairs immediately. Although Usher labeled Grimmie as "phenomenal" and said that he "plans on winning" with her, she landed herself on Team Adam.

What The Blind Auditions Are All About
Openly gay hopeful Kristen Merlin, 29, admitted that a show like "The Voice" was exactly what she needed to showcase her talents before she is "judged by her looks." The Massachusetts native's energetic and heartfelt rendition of Sugarland's "Something More" resonated with Shakira and Levine, the female coach even going as far as to dance while Merlin performed. Levine praised the hopeful for her strong vocals, but in the end, the country-at-heart contestant chose to be on Team ...

See Jennifer Lawrence’s Seductive New ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Photo

Whoever thinks "X-Men" isn't sexy hasn't seen Jennifer Lawrence's latest photo from

One of two new stills shows Lawrence opening her coat to show off a '70s-style little black dress as Raven Darkholm, a.k.a Mystique, the shape-shifting bad girl.

In another photo, we see JLaw back in blue body paint (a look we've seen before) with a gun in hand.

And while we think she looks stunning in both photos -- blue or not -- Lawrence told MTV News back in 2011 that she was a little hesitant to take over the role from swimsuit model Rebecca Romijn for "X-Men: First Class."

"It would have made my job a lot easier if she wasn't the most gorgeous person in the world," Lawrence joke. "I was like, 'Really?' "

Even if it was intimidating, the actress told us her passion for the franchise made her decision a "no-brainer."

"It is huge, but the movies are fantastic and I watched them and became a huge fan," she explained. "After reading the script, I really loved the script and I loved the character and I was already a fan of the director, [Matthew Vaughn], and I was already a fan of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, so then it became a little bit more of a no-brainer."

"X-Men: Days of Future Past," which hits theaters on May 23, also stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and more.
