Watch Out Kendrick, Jay Electronica Says His ‘Control’ Verse Was Better

Jay Electronica doesn't mince words. So when he opened the floor on Friday (April 18) for an impromptu Twitter Q&A and was asked to rank the verses on Big Sean's "Control," he had no problem admitting that co-collaborator Kendrick Lamar's incendiary 16 came in... last place.

"me, big sean then kendrick. he really didn't say anything," he responded.

Of course, that kind of comment set off a war of words, but Jay was quick to defend himself while still showing love for the Kendrick, saying "no shots. everyone knows i like kendrick. but facts are facts."

As much as the MC likes K.Dot, he went on to share that he prefers the lyrical prowess of another member of the Black Hippy crew: Ab-Soul.

"yes. iw ill most certainly collar w Ab Soul when the time is right. he's one of my favourites," he wrote.

Other noteworthy comments that came out of the Q&A include his inspiration to start rapping (LL Cool J's "Radio"), his choice for an additional rapper on "Exhibit C" (Nas) and his newfound respect for Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean and Freddie Gibbs.

And for those fans wondering if he regrets signing with Jay Z's imprint, he doesn't.

In fact, he hopes that A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky join him on the label.

Still no word on when Jay Electronica will drop his oft-delayed debut album, but he will be headlining this year's Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, which kicks off July 9.

Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj And Tyga Go Crazy In ‘Senile’: Watch It Now

No one would blame you if you felt a little nuts after watching the "Senile" video. Young Money's latest clip, released on Friday (April 18), is full of bright colors, off-kilter characters and otherwise odd scenes.

"It's just basically like some old 'Addams Family'-type, trailer-park trash and Wayne is just like in these different houses going crazy," Tyga told MTV News in March when we visited the set of the shoot of the video, which also features which features verses from Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.

Crazy, indeed.

For the opening verse, Tyga is surrounded by some masked dancers who gyrate to the bouncy beat ‒ and the rapper even shows off a few moves of his own. And that's about as normal as things get.

Nicki's verse finds the MC on a playground ‒ but it looks like one you wouldn't want to bring young children to. In between spinning on a merry-go-round and swaying on a swing set, she's surrounded by nearly a dozen shirtless, fully tattooed men. The fellas occasionally trade their grimaces for enjoyable park activities as YMCMB's First Lady spits her verse.

The Colin Tilley-directed visuals round out with Weezy's section. Things start with poses for a strange family portrait with a Santa Claus-looking dude and four others, and spiral from there. From bickering at the kitchen table to running through the house with a blow-up doll to doing the worm on the living room floor, every family's essential activities make their way into the video.

"Senile" is the latest single from Young Money: Rise of an ...

Eminem Has Something Big Planned In Texas: We’ve Got A Few Guesses

Eminem has something big planned. What is it, exactly? Well, we don't know. Yet.

"Texas - 'Square Dance' with me! Announcement coming 4/22," he wrote on Instagram on Friday (April 18), along with a picture of himself in full cowboy garb sitting atop a horse. Aside from once again displaying Em's sense of humor, the post didn't offer too much. So we're here to speculate on what it could all mean.

He's Releasing His Own Line Of Cowboy Hats
Em has always made some distinct style choices, from velour sweat suits to do-rags. But he's also a capable face of a product, from his days of selling clothes with his Shady Ltd. line to more recent endorsements. Stepping into the cowboy hat–making market will be a bit of a departure, but he could handle it.

He's Finally Shooting A "Square Dance" Video
Sure, "Square Dance" came out 12 years ago, way back on The Eminem Show. But if his is any indication, Slim has been in the mood to revisit his past work recently. Maybe he'll even get Dr. Dre, Nas, Xzibit and Busta Rhymes to square-dance with him, like he says in the outro.

He's Filming That Western He Was Supposed To Be In
Back in 2006, it was announced that Em was supposed to star in a remake of the 1950s TV show "Have Gun - Will Travel," but nothing ever came of it. He hasn't starred in a feature film since 2002's 8 Mile, but maybe the man is ready to prove he's still got it on the ...

12 Times One Direction Made Our Knees Weak In Their ‘You & I’ Video

Let's all take a moment and obsess over One Direction's brand-new video for because it's pretty close to perfect.

The guys do something totally different in their latest Ben Winston–directed video, morphing into one another as they walk along a deserted pier singing the oh-so-romantic ballad off their album Midnight Memories.

The boy band show off a much more serious and mature side than what Directioners are typically used to, and I have to say that I'm definitely liking the new look (I'm looking at you, Liam). From the new haircuts to the scruffy beards to the matching cozy sweaters, the guys pull off a video that's raw, emotional and pretty creative.

However, since we are talking about One Direction, there were still plenty of heart-melting and swoon-worthy moments to go around, which is why we've compiled 12 of our favorite moments for you to feast your eyes on. Enjoy!

1. Niall Debuts His Long, Luscious Locks

2. Liam Owning The Scruff

3. Harry Fixing His Hair After A Jog

4. Zayn Should Never Take Off That Sweater ... Perfection

5. Louis Also Ditching The Clean-Shaven Look

6. Harry Is Ready For His Close-Up

7. Too Many One Directions To Count!

8. Zayn + Liam = Bromance

9. Niall Nails A Cartwheel

10. Liam Practices Stop, Drop and Roll

Cam’ron Announces ‘The First Of The Month’ Series

It's been five years since Cam'ron released his last solo album, and he's about to feed the streets to make up for lost time.

"I'm putting out an EP every month with a 30-minute episode so you're not waiting a year or more for the next album," Killa told Mass Appeal in his recent cover story. "It's kinda like a show version of Killa Season. Instead of spending money on one movie, every month you have something new to look forward to."

The series, which will be called "The First of the Month," is just one of a number of ventures — both musical and otherwise — that Cam has on deck. He's also working on an EP called Federal Reserve, produced entirely by A-Trak. They released the song "Humphrey" in January.

"I didn't know who A-Trak was," the Harlem rapper admitted. "And [Damon Dash was] like, 'Trust me Cam, you need to do this.' [Dame's] working with Smoke DZA and I'm helping him out with that; we're going to do a project eventually."

Even with all of this new music on the way, Cam doesn't have anything with the Diplomats that's imminent. The crew, which consists of Killa, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey, hasn't released an album together in a decade, since 2004's Diplomatic Immunity 2. Still, he did say that they're on good enough terms that it could happen down the line.

"We all in a good space, we mad cool," he said. "Juelz was over the other day for his birthday; I spoke to Jim yesterday. It's ...

Can Johnny Depp Find ‘Transcendence’ At The Box Office This Weekend?

Johnny Depp is the lead in the $3.7 billion "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. But as one of the world's biggest movie stars launches a sci-fi thriller over Easter weekend, three months shy of his 51st birthday, box-office experts observe an old cliché: "You're only as big as your last hit."

The $100 million arrives in theaters on the heels of two expensive Depp films. The failure of last year's "The Lone Ranger" gave Disney a loss reportedly close to $190 million. And the vampire soap opera adaptation made barely more than half its $150 million production budget domestically the year before. Critics panned both films, and "Transcendence" is faring even worse. The 19 percent Rotten Tomatoes score for "Transcendence" is dangerously close to Depp's worst-reviewed film ever, 1999's "The Astronaut's Wife," which sits on the critical aggregator website with a 16 percent score.

Neither "The Tourist" ($67 million) nor "The Rum Diary" ($13 million) were considered commercial hits either. "The Tourist" was also the butt of many jokes at the 2012 Golden Globes, after which Depp satirically got his "revenge" against Ricky Gervais in an episode of the mock reality series "Life's Too Short."

Industry prognosticators are putting "Transcendence" behind two-time champion "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and last weekend's runner-up, "Rio 2." Fox's animated sequel is expected to overtake Marvel's "first Avenger" after giving Cap a run for his money already. The difference is likely to be only a few million dollars. A few more-optimistic watchers, like EW.com, ...
