‘American Idol’ Recap: Demi Lovato Slips In From Some Weird ‘X Factor’ Wormhole

Midway through Wednesday night's (April 16) "American Idol," host Ryan Seacrest was suddenly walloped by reality. "One of you guys is going to win this show," he said to the contestants, gobsmacked, his disbelief speaking volumes.

Yes, in a little over a month, one of the seven remaining contestants will be crowned champion of this uneven "Idol" season, which has been marked by selfies and antics involving gummi bears more than it has by memorable musical performances.

But who is it going to be? It can really only be one of two contestants — and those two seem to have a thing for each other. Let's break down Wednesday's show, where the "Idols" picked songs for their fellow competitors to sing:

The Caleb And Jena Show
Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene are steering the "Idol" ship right now, and are the only two poised to win it all. Sweetening the pot: On Wednesday's episode, the pair looked like they may have a crush on each other.

While rehearsing for their it-doesn't-really-matter duet of "Gimme Shelter" — their second duet together in as many weeks — Caleb and Jena were flirty and fun together, with Caleb joking (was he joking?) that he is going to take Jena to prom later this year. These two have a genuine playfulness and chemistry between them — either that, or this season has been so devoid of chemistry that we've forgotten what chemistry looks like.

Whether they're just friends, this power duo — we won't call them a power couple, at least just yet — is holding all the cards right ...

Pusha T Details His King Push Recording Sessions

Normally, it takes 30 days to develop a habit, but for Pusha T , it only took 20 days locked in the studio with The Neptunes' Chad Hugo and Pharrell Wiliams to get that old musical magic back.

"I haven't been in the studio with Chad and Pharrell probably since Lord Willin'," Pusha told Complex. "Hell Hath No Fury was leaning more on the Pharrell side. Just to have them back in there, that chemistry, defining of sounds, just finding direction, that's what we did that whole time. I think we got a great start on King Push."

With all of his solo success with Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" and his own Billboard chart-topper, it's easy to forget about the G I R L rapper's longtime co-producer.

"With Chad, it's basically I can say my ideas and he translates everything into music," Pusha said. "I write down all the references, I go back to '80s hip-hop and '90s and obscure records. I can give all of that to Chad and before I know it, I'm hearing it in keys. He's one of those prodigy types. He's a genius on that."

With his critically-acclaimed debut album, My Name Is My Name nestled comfortably at the top of numerous media outlets' "Best Of" lists, the MC is in no rush to drop his sophomore set.

"I haven't been putting any times on that. I'm just trying to be very selective about it," Pusha said. "I just left L.A. with 'Ye trying to get this right, get his ...

Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith Fires Back At Suge Knight

A war of words is brewing between Compton's old guard and the new kids on the block. In recent weeks, Suge Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, has been critical of Kendrick Lamar's record deal. Now the CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment, where K. Dot is signed, is speaking up.

"TELL SUGE I SAID IF HE KAN SHOW ME 1 CHECK WE PAID 2 INTERSCOPE OFF OF R TOUING..ILL SELL HIM TDE 4 $1, NOBODY GETS SHIT OFF OUR TOURS. #TOP," Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith tweeted on Wednesday (April 16).

The challenge came in response to comments that Knight made yesterday to BET. "Not only do these companies get the royalties and the publishing, if [the artist] do a show and $100,000 come in, the managers of the guys I'm saying who run the record company gets 20 percent," he said. "Now it's $80,000. Kendrick gets half, the record company gets half, which is ridiculous."

Last year, Tiffith spoke on the comparisons he and his label had been getting to Knight and Death Row. "I respect Suge for what he's done in music," he told VIBE. "They had a star roster; I think I have a star roster...We got a lot of similarities, but we don't club like they clubbed, 'cause you always got someone that want to come and try some sh--."

This wasn't the first time in recent weeks that Knight has sounded like he was trying to start some sh--. "If you look at Interscope, two guys from Compton — Game, Kendrick ...
