Defending ‘Fault In Our Stars’: It’s A Metaphor, Internet

With everyone abuzz over this summer's release of "The Fault in Our Stars," there's no question that Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), the one-legged dreamboat who forms one half of the movie's central couple, has officially become the new favorite fictional boyfriend of basically everyone on earth.

But after a new clip from the film debuted earlier this week — the one in which Augustus clenches a cigarette between his teeth while explaining, "It's a metaphor. You put the thing that does the killing right between your teeth, but you never give it the power to kill you!" — a small but vocal contingent of people aren't feeling the love anymore.

It's an opinion most elegantly expressed by one tumblr user who called this moment, "the single most pretentious thing I've ever seen in my life."

Of course, if that's how you feel, and if you want to break up with your fictional boyfriend over this one regrettable moment, then hey, do what you gotta do. But after seeing the same few complaints about Augustus pop up again and again over the past several days, we'd like to make a case for keeping the love alive, by addressing the criticisms one at a time.

CRITICISM: He looks ridiculous, and furthermore, that cigarette is ruining my view of Ansel Elgort's beautiful face.

COUNTERPOINT: Admittedly, there are other ways that Gus could've chosen to make his point without putting a cigarette between his teeth. Like, say, holding a metaphorically non-loaded gun to his own head! Or he could lug around a motorcycle that he straddles but ...

Exclusive: ‘Hunger Games’ Star Haunts ‘The Quiet Ones’ Trailer

Who here believes in ghosts? Anyone?

Perhaps you'll start to believe after sitting through our exclusive trailer for the new Hammer horror film directed by John Pogue and starring "The Hunger Games" veteran Sam Claflin, "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" villain Jared Harris, and more.

The film takes place in the 1970s, and follows an Oxford scholar named Professor Coupland (Harris) and his pupil Brian McNeil (Claflin) as they document their attempts to rid a test subject of disease — although from another angle, it would appear she's possessed. The experiment eventually takes the team to an isolated house in the countryside, where all sorts of horrible things begin to occur.

The trailer is narrated by the haunting voice of a little girl, who recites the following ominous words:

Through the eyes, there's a door
Uninvited they come in
And the quiet they pray
For the soul has worn thin
There's those who are young
Those who are weak
They inhabit, possess
They slither and roar
On this night, the Quiet Ones
Will be quiet no more

If the final film is even half as harrowing as the trailer, then we're all destined for some sleepless nights.

"The Quiet Ones" hits theaters on April 25.

Sick Miley Cyrus Will Miss Another Show And She’s ‘Mizzzzzeraaabbblleeee’ About It

Trust Miley Cyrus, she doesn't want to be in the hospital either. But, after landing there on Tuesday due to a
that forced her to postpone a show in Kansas City, the singer broke the news to fans on Wednesday morning (April 16) that she's down for another day.

"The hospital is sayin' I won't b released today," Miley said, noting that the extra bed rest means she will miss a scheduled gig tonight at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

It's unclear if her latest health set-back will force the postponement of Friday night's show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, but Miley is clearly sick of being sick.

Miley first started feeling under the weather last week, when she had to pull out of a Charlotte, North Carolina, show
because she was in "excruciating pain." It was later revealed that she had the flu.

She felt bad about the St. Louis show and tweeted that she wanted to be the first to tell fans the bad news before they hit the road for the gig.

The singer seems to be going a bit stir-crazy in her bed, complaining about the hospital TV being "wacccckkkkkkk!!!!!" and longing for her AppleTV.

And, lest you think she's happy about all this, well, think again.

‘Heroes’ Reboot: Superhero Series Will Be ‘Reborn’ Online

Next year, the world of shape-shifting, super-strong superheroes returns to television in the form of NBC's resurrection of the divisive superhero series.

Little is known about the project, other than the fact that it'll air in 2015, with creator Tim Kring once again at the helm. Who will star in the new "Heroes" reboot? Again, too soon to say — none of the original players, like Masi Oka as Hiro or Zachary Quinto as Sylar, have been confirmed to reprise their roles.

But there is some new information today, and it's sure to please die-hard "Heroes" fans. Before "Reborn" even hits the small-screen, NBC will launch what they're currently calling "Heroes Reborn: Digital Series" — a name that will surely (hopefully?) change before its release. Entertainment Weekly reports that the new series will air online on NBC.com, and is angled as a prequel to the "Heroes Reborn" miniseries.

It's not a groundbreaking tactic, the idea of pushing an online companion series in support of a flagship show. "The Walking Dead" comes equipped with these kinds of web series before the launch of a new season. "Battlestar Galactica" used this approach as well, as did "Lost," and numerous other shows. Even "Heroes" dabbled in online and other forms of ancillary material during its heyday.

But the existence of an online "Heroes" component, coming with what's already a risky proposition in bringing "Heroes" back in the first place — that's an interesting show of confidence on NBC's part. Perhaps it's a place where some of the original "Heroes" characters can make quick ...

Jay Z Is Packing Up Made In America And Taking It West

Jay Z is packing up his Budweiser Made in America festival
and moving it West. The rapper is slated to join Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and other dignitaries at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles at 12:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday (April 16) to announce that the Labor Day blowout will switch coasts this summer.

Last year's inaugural event in Philadelphia featured sets from Jay, Rick Ross, Passion Pit, Skrillex, Nine Inch Nails
 and Beyoncé.

According to Variety, the two-day fest will take place in L.A.'s Grand Park, making it the first event of its kind to visit the city's downtown. The shows are expected to draw tens of thousands of fans to an area that stretches from Los Angeles Music Center to City Hall.

Not everyone is psyched for the announcement, though. Variety reported that City Councilman Jose Huizar introduced a motion last month asking the city to withhold permits for the festival until there were answers to his questions about how Made in America might disrupt downtown business due to street closures. He's also reportedly concerned about holding a for-profit, ticketed concert where alcohol will be served in a public venue.

By most accounts, last year's Made In America was a success, spawning a documentary directed by Oscar-winner Ron Howard
that featured footage of the performances and a re-telling of Jay's rags-to-riches story.

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Preview: Marvel Hits ‘The Next Level’

Marvel Studios takes it to the moon and takes it to the stars in their next cinematic offering, hitting theaters in August.

An all-new preview for the film aired last night on ABC during and while it was light on new footage, it featured plenty of insight from the folks making "Guardians" into a reality.

"The Guardians of the Galaxy consists of several members, all of whom are very selfish for the most part," star Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, says of Marvel's newest superhero squad. "They find that there's something worth fighting for."

What exactly is that something? Marvel's lips are sealed, but actor Zoe Saldana, who plays green-hued assassin Gamora, says the answer is atypical of other comic book movies.

"They're the thieves, the bounty hunters and the neglected," she said. "It's not a typical superhero movie."

It certainly isn't, not when the film's two most recognizable stars, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, don't even appear in the flesh. Instead, they supply the voice and some motion-capture for Rocket Raccoon and Groot, two of the weirdest main characters to ever hit a Marvel movie.

"The growth of these characters allows the film to kind of create its own personality and identity," said Diesel. "That's always fun, when you're at the frontier of something new."

And that new frontier is something that's exciting not just for Marvel fans, but for the creative minds making these movies. Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige explained, "'Guardians of the Galaxy' does take place in the same cinematic universe that we've been building, but this movie takes ...

‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’: Watch The Final Trailer Now

In one month, two different eras of mutant history collide in one epic movie: directed by Bryan Singer and starring the casts of the original "X-Men" trilogy as well as 2011's "X-Men: First Class."

The final trailer for "Days of Future Past" is here, revealing more about Wolverine's mission to go back in time to the 1970s, and join forces with Charles Xavier and Erik "Magneto" Lensherr. The only problem: Xavier and Magneto are at complete and total odds, a far-cry from their future alliance. On top of that, the newly-paralyzed Xavier has seen better days, based on his shaggy-haired appearance.

Saving the future will be no easy feat — but if anyone can do it, it's the fast-healing, adamantium-laced Logan.

"Days of Future Past" stars virtually everyone who has ever appeared in an "X-Men" movie before, and then some. Returning players include Halle Berry as Storm, Shawn Ashmore as Iceman and Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde. (Sorry, Anna Paquin; no Rogue for you.) New players include Omar Sy as Bishop, Adan Canto as Sunspot and Bingbing Fan as Blink.

And then, of course, there are the main characters: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and two different generations of Magneto and Xavier: the former played by Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen, the latter played by James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart.

At a glance, it looks like "Days of Future Past" is the giant exclamation mark on a certain era of "X-Men" movies. But then again, plans are already in the works for "X-Men: Apocalypse" in ...
