Exclusive ‘If I Stay’ Trailer Puts Chloe Moretz In Limbo

Chloe Grace Moretz is no stranger to kicking ass and burning down the prom. But for her next act, the young actress is attempting to bring you a new kind of heartbreak.

Moretz is the star of based on the young adult novel written by Gayle Forman. It centers on Mia, a young cellist with nothing but boundless opportunities on the horizon. She's been accepted into Julliard. She's falling in love with a guitarist named Adam. Her torn feelings between her professional and personal future are the greatest conflicts in her life.

And then comes the crash.

Mia's world is turned upside down during a horrific car accident that kills her parents, and leaves Mia in a coma. She has an existential, out-of-body experience where she realizes she has a choice to make: stay alive and struggle through the extraordinarily difficult tragedy, or allow herself to pass on.

It's a powerful, emotional conflict that plays to great tragic effect in this first, exclusive look at the "If I Stay" trailer. In addition to Moretz, the film stars "The Killing" veteran Mireille Enos as Mia's mother, and relative newcomer Jamie Blackley as Mia's boyfriend, Adam.

"The readers are very serious about me and Adam, and they really need that palpable relationship, and for me, I just want to go in there and create that relationship with Jamie," Moretz told MTV News last October, ahead of production. "It's that young love, and you have to capture that feeling."

"If I Stay" hits theaters on August 22.

Paul Walker’s Brothers Will Fill His Shoes In ‘Fast And Furious 7’

It looks like "Fast and Furious 7" will be a family affair. The film has hired on Paul Walker's two brothers Caleb and Cody as Walker's body-doubles, allowing the team to wrap up shooting on the actor's final film in the franchise.

When Paul Walker died in November, fans wondered how his character, former undercover agent Brian O'Conner, would live on in the popular series. Walker had finished filming a good portion of the seventh film, but there was still much to be done.

We soon learned that the film's team aimed to Walker's character, and, for the most recent flick, hire a cadre of actors with similar builds that could be transformed into the actor via CGI.

What better body-doubles, then, than Walker's real-life brothers?

Universal announced the news on Facebook Tuesday (April 15), writing, "The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other."

"We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family," the film's team continued, calling Walker's work on the film "among the strongest work of his career."

"Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too," the post went on to say of his brothers.

Cody Walker, a paramedic, currently works with the actor's Reach Out Worldwide charity, according to Yahoo! Movies.

"Fast and Furious 7" will arrive in theaters on April 10, ...

Can You Believe Def Jam Passed Up On Signing Nas Over 20 Years Ago?

Nas' Illmatic is widely recognized as one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Though it came out on Columbia, the classic debut could have been another highlight on Def Jam's impressive résumé. Not only was it one of a handful of labels to pass on Nas, but Faith Newman, who signed him to Columbia, was just a few months removed from working for the label.

"I knew that they had [already] shopped to some other people," Newman told MTV News. "[MC Serch] just handed me the cassette. It was just two songs. I went down the hall to David Kahne, who was the head of A&R [at Columbia]. I said, 'I know I just started here, [but] if you never let me sign anything, you gotta let me sign this kid.' "

But before bringing the demo to Newman, Serch, who was helping the newcomer find a deal, met with Def Jam founder Russell Simmons. "I played Nas' demo ... and Russell said, 'Ah, he sounds like [Kool] G Rap, and G Rap don't sell no records. I'm not interested,'" Serch recently told XXL.

A Queens native like Nas, G Rap may not have been moving a ton of units, but the influence and respect he had was undeniable. Launched by his 1989 debut Road to the Riches, the rapper's career had an impact on everyone from Nasty to Notorious B.I.G.

Newman agreed with Simmons' sonic assessment — just not what it meant for the rapper's future. "On one of the songs, he really did [sound like G Rap]," she ...

‘Fargo’ Reviews Are In: How Does The Show Compare To The Movie?

It was the movie that made "You betcha" a catchphrase before Sarah Palin did and made Steve Buscemi synonymous with a wood chipper. Now, it's coming to TV.

the movie was released in 1996, the brainchild of Joel and Ethan Coen, and went on to garner incredible critical praise and two Oscar wins, becoming one of the most acclaimed films of the 1990s. The darkly comic film is funny, heartbreaking and thought-provoking and also features seminal performances from Frances McDormand as the brave, pregnant police officer Marge Gunderson and William H. Macy as the slimy Jerry Lundegaard. And it all takes place in the snowy vistas of Minnesota, where everyone is as polite as anything, even in the face of darkness.

FX has had some bold series before, but this might be the boldest stroke of all, taking a cherished property, repopulating it with a completely new cast of characters, and hoping it can walk the same tightrope of comedy and drama that the Coens do better than pretty much anyone.

The new cast certainly doesn't seem like it'll be a problem, as the all-star ensemble includes Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Colin Hanks, Key and Peele, Oliver Platt, and Alison Tolman as Deputy Molly Solverson (which seems to be an adaptation of McDormand's role).

But can the series recapture the dark magic of the movie? This is what critics have to say about "Fargo," which premieres tonight on FX at 10 p.m.

This Is Not A Reboot
"To be clear: This is not a 'reboot' or 'retelling' of 'Fargo.' This series features an ...

Future’s Honest Album: Stream It Here

Even though his sophomore album, Honest, doesn't officially drop until April 22, Future is giving fans an early taste by streaming the majority of the project now.

Before Tuesday (April 15), the Atlanta rapper had released a handful of tracks from the album. "Honest," "Move That Dope," "Sh!t," "Covered N Money," "How Can I Not" and "Karate Chop (Remix)" have all dropped in recent months, while "I Won," featuring Kanye West, came out last week.

"We had a session with me, Future and [production duo] Rock City," Metro Boomin, who produced "I Won," told MTV News last week. "At the end of the night, we had a rough [cut]; we had a hook, the first verse and some ad-libs. Future told me to take it home and build a whole track out. So I went and built the track with the vocals, finished the beat and placed everything and sent it back to him. I got a call one day that they had sent it to Kanye."

Yeezy isn't the only big name on the project. There's "My Momma," featuring Wiz Khalifa, on which two of rap's young stars with exceptional ears for melody unite. Another artist who embodies that trait, Drake, is featured on "Never Satisfied" — though only a snippet is included on the stream.

According to a track list posted on iTunes, the album is also supposed to include "Special," featuring Young Scooter, and "Benz Friendz (Whatchutola)," alongside Andre 3000. Fans will have to purchase the disc ...
