The Maybach Music rap mogul and the sneaker giant were once in co-hoots, but Rozay lost his endorsement deal in April after he spit a controversial lyric on Rocko's "U.O.E.N.O.," which conjured images of rape for some.

Lately, the Boss has been seen wearing Reeboks and flashing their logo in his viral videos. So are Rick Ross and Reebok still in business?

"Not really, not really. It's just more based on the natural what I just feel like rocking, and that's Reebok a lot of times," Ross told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway on Wednesday.

"I still represent and show love to Reebok. They've showed me so much love in the past and I just feel good reppin'," he explained. "I feel like it's a dope sneaker as well, so that's what it is."

The controversy has calmed down, but things got pretty heated for Ross after Rocko's track hit the streets in February. On April 4, women's rights organization Ultra Violet staged a protest outside of Reebok's flagship store in New York City, and Reebok severed ties with the rapper a week later. "Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so," Reebok told MTV News in a written statement issued in April.

With Jamie Dornan locked to play Christian Grey in the big-screen adaptation of the title's character's family tree just gained another limb.

According to Variety, "True Blood" actor Luke Grimes will join the cast as Elliot, Christian's adopted brother. Elliot Grey is described as a tall, muscular 30-something with curly blond hair and blue eyes.

In addition to "True Blood," Grimes' credits include TV's "Brothers & Sisters," "Taken 2" and "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane."

Grimes joins Dornan and leading lady Dakota Johnson (playing Anastasia Steele) in the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed flick based on E L James' best-selling erotic novels.

Grimes fills in one of a few minor character spots in James' kinky novel. Other smaller roles yet to be filled include Ana's mom, as well as Kate, who is Ana's best friend and roommate. (Kate missed out on her opportunity to meet Christian first.)

Yes, after Miley's Smilers carried her to the Best U.S. Act nomination — and Justin's Beliebers helped him win Best Canadian Act — the two friends (and their fanbases) will now battle it out to determine who will rep the North American region in the EMA's Worldwide Act category.

Voting is now underway to decide a winner ... with polls closing on October 31. Either Miley or Bieber will move on to face other regional nominees — from areas like Africa/India/Middle East, Japan/Korea, and Latin America, to name just a few — with 10 finalists being named on November 1.

The winner of Worldwide Act will be revealed at the 2013 MTV EMA, set to take place on Sunday, November 10, from the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The show will be broadcast here in the U.S. that same day at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

The hashtag that fans used after One Direction premiered their new single probably best sums up how they feel about the ballad: #StoryOfMyLifeIsPerfect.

The track, the second single off their November 25 album release, Midnight Memories, is a somber ballad that has left many Directioners in tears. And if the song was meant to incite waterworks, well, 1D should consider their mission accomplished. Shortly after the song debuted, fans stormed social media with tear-filled photos and memes that seemed to sum up their emotional response to "Story."

But fans weren't just crying. The slow jam made them feel a whole spectrum of emotions.

The Shady Records family has been busy completing new projects, and first up will be Eminem's eighth studio album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 on November 5. And while you can expect a new Slaughterhouse album after, Joe Budden tells MTV News it won't happen until Em throws some serious numbers on the board.

"We're not [releasing] nothing while Em is coming out," Joe Budden told MTV News of the completed Slaughterhouse album. "Let him go ahead and sell his 20 million records and then when he's finished, we'll roll out," he added laughing.

Thus far, Em has dropped a few singles for the lyrical nerds, including the most recent "I think this [album] is for rap fans," Joe Budden explained. "I think that he's been inspired as of late and I know he's been working really hard. I know he has an overabundance of records to choose from and they're all rap. You can tell that even from the records released like 'Berzerk'— a real old school Beastie Boys kinda feel, and 'Rap God' — where he's just rapping for six minutes straight."

Take a cursory glance at the poster for "The Counselor" and you'll see the faces of some of Hollywood's biggest stars. But some audiences this weekend will find out that they should have been looking at the fine print. That's because the drug thriller was written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy ("The Road," "No Country for Old Men"), a writer not known for likeable characters or traditional story payoffs.

The characters in "The Counselor," led by Michael Fassbender as a lawyer looking to cash in on a onetime drug deal, speak in philosophical soliloquies about the nature of sex, death and greed, and that's just one example of how the film, directed by Ridley Scott, is built to upend expectations.

And the reviews are reflecting the divisive nature of the author's work, ranging from high praise to several write-ups calling it an outright disaster. So to give you a better idea of what to expect from "The Counselor," we've rounded up a short spectrum of reactions from the critics.

Demi Lovato is gearing up to hit the road for her 2014 Neon Lights Tour, and she's bringing along a little "X Factor" help.

The girls of Fifth Harmony, along with "X Factor" U.K. contestant Cher Lloyd and season eight winners, girl group Little Mix, will be Lovato's opening acts.

During , where they performed two songs including the fivesome — Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui — said they're "super-excited" to hit the road and believe Demi may have hinted at the tour invitation a few months ago when she sent a cryptic text.

"She said we should perform a Spice Girls song," Camilla said. "And we were like, where are we going to perform it?"

Britney Spears has said that her December 3 album release, Britney Jean will be her "most personal record," and that seems to apply to the artwork, which Britney released on Friday (October 25).

The black-and-white art features the singer topless, with a close-up mostly on her shoulders and face. Across the front of the photo is the album's title in blue neon with a pink neon heart around it. There is very little to distract fans from the artist herself.

The same day she released the art, she also wrote a letter to her fans, revealing a bit more about the album's meaning.

"I poured my heart and soul into this album, and it's been an incredible journey. I've learned a lot about myself, and as I am finishing, I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years," she wrote in the handwritten letter. "I can't believe this is my eighth studio album and I know I keep telling you that it is my most personal record yet, but it's true and I'm really proud of that."

The album's release will come just weeks before the is slated to take the stage in Las Vegas for her two-year residency, at Planet Hollywood on December 27.
