Kanye Explains That Surprising ‘Yeezus Meets Jesus’ Concert Collabo

In light of his stadium-sized engagement to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West's decision to have a man dressed as Jesus co-star on his Yeezus tour
seems kind of tame by comparison.

But the emergence of the surprise co-star at Saturday night's opening show definitely turned heads. "White Jesus, is that you?" 'Ye asked the actor, who took the stage just before the rapper broke into his 2004 single "Jesus Walks." Fans were likely asking the same question.

While chatting with San Francisco's Wild 94.9's The JV Show after popping the question to Kardashian, Kanye explained why he put a holy cameo into his set.

"I had a friend of mine who's a pastor there as we started discussing how we want to deliver it," West said of the Jesus (set) piece. "My girl even asked afterwards, 'Hmm, is that weird if Jesus comes on stage?' No, we do plays all the time. People play Jesus. You know what's awesome about Christianity is we're allowed to portray God? We're allowed to draw image of him, we're allowed to make movies about him. Other religions you're not allowed to do that. That's what's really awesome about Christianity. That's one of the awesome things."

Defending Kanye, co-host Rico noted that other pop artists have depicted Jesus in the past, including Madonna (not to mention Michelangelo, 'Ye added), so people shouldn't call the Chicago MC the "anti-Christ" for including the Jesus character in his show. "It's a painting, it's a sculpture, it's a moving opera, it's a play, it's a message ," Kanye added. ...

How Tom Hiddleston Became The Unlikely Face Of Marvel

For a brand that boasts the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and fanboy god Joss Whedon on their roster, Marvel Studios has ended up with an unlikely, yet wildly popular brand representative: Tom Hiddleston.

The 32-year-old was virtually unknown in the United States before 2011's "Thor," where he played Loki, a villain that had never before graced the big screen. But after two years, one box-office megahit and an unforgettable in-character appearance at Comic-Con later, Hiddleston's role in the Marvel Universe is as essential as the heroes he continually battles.

Hiddleston's Hall H performance may hold the key to his popularity among the throngs of Marvel fans. A consummate performer, Hiddleston doesn't half-ass his attempts to entertain, whether it's impersonating Owen Wilson as Loki or dancing at a "Thor: The Dark World" publicity event in South Korea.

(Oh, and then there's that little gem "Loki'd.")

When we spoke with Hiddleston about his role in the Marvel cinematic universe, he seemed genuinely surprised about the level of recognition he's received for playing the god of mischief. "It was a complete surprise, far and above my expectations," he said.

Hiddleston explained that his dedication to a role like Loki stems from a simple view on his job as an actor: to connect with people.

"It's just an honor to be honest because as an actor, when you build a character — and I've built many characters over the years — you hope they're going to connect. That's all you want," he said. "You want them to ...

Marvel Comics Make Surprising Reveal About Iron Man

Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, is adopted. At least, that's the huge revelation in "Iron Man #17," a comic book published by Marvel Comics that hits comic stores Wednesday (October 23), as revealed in a release from the Associated Press. The issue, written by Kieron Gillen with art by Carlo Pagulayan and Scott Hanna, finishes a long-running story line titled "The Secret Origin of Tony Stark," which revealed that not only was Stark adopted by his parents, Howard and Maria Stark, but he has a natural-born brother named Arno who has been in hiding for the past few decades.

OK, crazy comic book plot time: in the book, a hyper-intelligent robot named 451 had been revealed to be manipulating the Starks for dozens of years. First, he promised to help save the life of the Stark's sickly, unborn child in exchange for making the baby into the leader of a technological revolution on Earth. Then in the present, it turned out 451 needed Tony — who he thought was the baby — to pilot a gigantic world-killing suit of armor tuned to his genetic structure... But Tony was unable to do so, and eventually stopped 451.

In today's issue, it turns out the reason Tony couldn't pilot the armor was because he wasn't actually that baby. The Starks had instead hid their natural child in a hospital — he was sick, due in part to the genetic tampering — and instead adopted Tony, making 451 think he was the child destined to pilot the world-destroying armor.

The emotionally charged issue is ...

Childish Gambino Has ‘Stepped Up,’ Fans Praise At Spontaneous Listening Party

NEW YORK — Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino wasn't planning to throw a party in Washington Square Park, but that's what happened Monday night when the actor-turned rapper took to Twitter to announce his whereabouts. And fans who showed up were treated to a sneak peek of tracks off his upcoming album Because the Internet.

Hundreds of fans swarmed the park — 21-year-old Alex Kundrat "may have knocked some people over" — to get a listen to never-before-heard songs and talk to CG about his sophomore LP.

"We were like, how about we just tell people to come and then people did, I didn't expect it," Glover told MTV News. "My fans are the only reason I'm here. Their feedback is important."

And feedback he received.

"It was good, like, I definitely saw like some head nods on some things and some weird like, 'what is that,' which is great," he said. "That's all I wanted, I just don't want to do things the same, nothing typical anymore."

New York University sophomore Jordan Williams was among the members in the crowd nodding their heads.

"He, like, definitely stepped his game up on this one," the 19-year-old said. "I feel like production-wise it seemed like he spent a little more time on the little things, which was what I was kind of looking out for."

Also impressed was 18-year-old Tyler Mitchell, who referred to CG's new material as an evolution. "He changed his whole artistic image, I feel like he just kind of erased himself for a while and then, like, reappeared."

The listening session coincided with the ...

Jonas Brothers Break Silence After Tour Cancellation: ‘Please Hold’

They are two words frustrating to hear from anyone -- and when it's the Jonas Brothers telling you to "please hold" after two weeks of no communication, it's just terrifying.

But that's all Joe and Nick Jonas had to say on Tuesday (October 22), thirteen days after their rather abrupt — and in the eyes of JoBro fans everywhere, truly life-altering — tour cancellation.

"please hold while we get our sh-- together," Joe wrote, while Nick kept it even more brief, simply asking fans to "bear with us."

That hardly clears up the cloud of confusion they left behind when they cited "a deep rift within the band" as the reason for calling off their 19-city trek. "There was a big disagreement over their music direction," a rep told for the band told MTV News at the time. And it certainly doesn't clarify reports that the future of the band "remains to be seen."

We do know is that the Jonas Brothers' twitter account still hasn't turned up after going missing last week. All we can do is hope that they can find that same excitement they felt last October when they reunited onstage at Radio City Music Hall.

"It feels really good," Kevin shared with MTV News at the time. "It's been a long time coming. We've all been doing some individual stuff and on our own journeys, but now we're coming back together and the show's kind of the kick off to that."

Fifth Harmony Hit #2 On iTunes: See How They Celebrated!

It was a big day for Fifth Harmony. Not only did their EP Better Together debut at #2 on the charts, but they took over the MTV Newsroom for a memorable live stream, which included performances, plenty of Harmonizers and a host of shirtless celebrities.

After taking to their bedazzled microphones to perform and power ballad "Who Are You," the fivesome — composed of Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui — sat down to talk all about the six-track EP and just how excited they were to learn that it's now sitting at #2 on the iTunes charts.

"It's literally sensational. It's such an incredible feeling," Ally said. "It's so funny because I remember when we talked to you [MTV News] about our upcoming album and stuff like that, and now it's out and it's at #2. It's incredible."

Better Together is a blend of pure girl-power pop that touches on friendship, relationships and heartbreak.

"Each song on the EP has a different kind of vibe to it, but I think the overall thing is just to be yourself and to be OK with what you're feeling," Lauren said. "So if you're having a good day and want to go out with your girl and see a guy or whatever, 'Don't Wanna Dance Alone' and 'Me & My Girls.' And then if you're having one of those days where you're in a relationship and it's hard, we have 'Who Are You.' So it's a teenage-girl little diary."

In fact, it's "Who Are ...

Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour Actually Has A Few Wedding Clues In It

Kanye West's creativity knows no bounds — not in the studio, not with his fashion, nor on the stage at his Yeezus Tour. That said, we don't expect his wedding ceremony with Kim Kardashian to be anything short of genius.

Pardon us if we get ahead of ourselves, but with the news of Kimye's engagement, we can't help but wonder what the couple's actual nuptials will actually be like. If the Yeezus Tour is any indication, it will be a production for the ages.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Kanye loves his privacy, and while a Los Angeles wedding may be convenient, the pesky paparazzi would surely be a vibe killer. You know where the paparazzi never goes? Giant snowy mountains, like the one used to anchor 'Ye's Yeezus Tour stage. That's a Yeezy-style destination wedding.

His Suit
The Louis Vuitton Don could get a suit from just about any of the top names, but where's the fun in that? West's tour wardrobe is filled with all types of fancy robes and masks. We think his green robe and silver mask look might work great at his ceremony.

Calling White Jesus
Who better to officiate a marriage than White Jesus? We doubt Kanye will invite his Yeezus Tour pal to his wedding ceremony, but you have to admit, it would be pretty epic.

Freestyle Vows
During the opening night of his Yeezus Tour, Kanye let his "Runaway" instrumental play while he freestyled something about loving the one that you're with. He can get Mike Dean on the MPC 2000, and just tell Kimmy how he feels ...

Fifth Harmony Get Rowdy With Harmonizers And Pick Their Fave Set Of Abs

Fifth Harmony serenaded the MTV Newsroom on Tuesday (October 22) with "Who Are You" and "Miss Movin' On." And after singing, Ally, Camila, Normani, Dinah Jane and Lauren took 30 minutes to answer fan questions and share info about their upcoming tour with Demi Lovato... and they even gawked at some celebrity abs in the process.

The fivesome just released their Better Together EP, and it's currently sitting at #2 on the iTunes charts. 5H shared the inspiration behind the new music and their favorite song off the project.

"Collectively, it's 'Who Are You,' " Normani Hamilton said. "You just feel it."

Harmonizers sent in Vines, tweets and Instagrams, and lucky fans in the audience posed their pressing inquiries, like "What would your dream date be?" and "What Disney princess would you compare yourself to?" (Want the answers? Watch the video to find out!)

In between questions, things got a little crazy — shouts, whistling and a little bit of playful cat-fighting — all over a few six-packs. Abs, that is. The girls picked their choice man just by looking at a picture of their stomachs. It got a little rowdy, to say the least.

"Live from MTV" turned in a 5H fan hang sesh, with Harmonizers going back and forth with the singers, as they laughed and joked about things like the Kimye engagement and, uh, cannibalism.

Getting more serious, the dished on going on the road with Little Mix and Cher Lloyd for Demi's Neon Lights tour. They even talked about the new version of "X Factor" with Kelly Rowland. They gave ...

DJ Khaled Enlists President Obama To Help Ease His Suffering

DJ Khaled knows how to make an entrance. When the charismatic DJ and record executive steps into the room, he commands attention with his booming voice and poignant speeches, and he likes his album introductions to have the same impact.

With the first track on his seventh LP, Suffering From Success (out on Tuesday), Khaled starts with a familiar but unlikely voice. "Thank you everybody. How you like my new entrance music?" president Barack Obama asks in the audio that was repurposed from the White House Correspondents' Dinner this past April.

"I just wanted to start the album when Obama came out with 'All I Do is Win' and saying that's his new theme song — I mean that's the biggest voice in America and he's saying a DJ Khaled record is his theme song," Khaled told MTV News from his We the Best studio in Miami. "I'm starting off the album like, 'Helloooo, have you got it yet?' I'm the best in the game."

Once the table is set, Khaled goes right into the album's title track, where he gathers Future, Ace Hood and producers Young Chop, DJ Nasty and LVM to articulate his Suffering. "Got too many racks on me, I can't even go to sleep," Future croons to start.

"Real passionate when me and Future were cooking up the record. I explained to him what 'Suffering From Success' was, like my meaning behind it. He just understood and he just went in that booth with passion," Khaled explained. "You could see the veins coming out his neck ...
