As if Prism wasn't enough for her Katy Cats, Katy Perry treated fans to an impromptu Twitter Q&A in the hour leading up to the album's official Tuesday (October 22) release, answering questions about the tour and some key tracks.
Besides revealing that she shot her "Unconditionally" video in London last week, she gave fans a quick timeline of the writing process, writing, "I wrote and recorded the first song back 'By the Grace of God' Nov, 2012. Most of the record was written spring 2013." Then, she spilled on just what exactly Prism is all about: "self reflection, love & light..."
Perry said she loves all her albums, but "this one is SHINING!!!" and that it "represents so many different sides" of her. When it came time to explain why emotional power-ballad "Unconditionally" is her next single, she had just the right answer:
Continuing, she tweeted, "Dark Horse" is "like someone falling in love with a witch! Influenced by the movie The Craft!" and then reminisced about her inspiration for up-beat party anthem "This is How We Do."
Following the release of her last album, Teenage Dream, Perry embarked on a world tour, and while she didn't reveal too many details about what's ahead — even though she has a "few great ideas" for a tour name — she did, however, say this:
