Ed Sheeran Or Cher? We Rank The Best ‘Voice’ Mentors

is back with a vengeance. Not only did we see the return of the original four coaches: Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, but a stellar new group of guest mentors.

Ryan Tedder, Miguel, Ed Sheeran and Cher made their debut on Monday night as battle rounds kicked off, offering their expertise to the up-and-comers vying for a spot on their coach's final team. But dishing advice isn't as easy as it seems, and not all the guest mentors stepped up to the plate as expected.

We broke down their performance during their first week on the job.

Ryan Tedder (Team Adam)
His musical prowess was on display from his first bit of advice. "You have such a powerful voice, don't do the break with it," the OneRepublic frontman told contestant Grey. "The tendency of people who perform hits songs is they get comfortable with it and mess with the melody which comes across loungy." The Grammy-winning songwriter (Beyoncé's "Halo" and his band's "Apologize") and producer (Jennifer Lopez and Demi Lovato) gives contestants specific advice, all with a super zen, laid-back approach. He clearly listens and seems invested in their growth, offering relevant suggestions that pay off.

There isn't much for Tedder to improve as a mentor besides maybe pulling some out-of-the-box, Usher-esque music techniques out of his bag. That'd be fun.

A+

Miguel (Team Cee Lo)
The 2013 Grammy winner's strength as a mentor is his own vocal background. The R&B crooner, who has collaborated with the likes of Mariah Carey, can break down the nuances of the singing ...

Lady Gaga And The Muppets Together Again: How The VMAs Made It Possible

Lady Gaga is inviting a few special guests to spend the holidays with her. The ARTPOP singer has reportedly filmed a holiday special with the Muppets.

The show was shot in Los Angeles, E! reports, but an airdate for the television event has yet to be revealed.

Any good Little Monster knows that Gaga has a deep history with the Muppets, which dates all the way back to 2009. MTV News takes a look back:

Gaga first entered the Muppets' cartoony world when she famously sported a dress made entirely of Kermit The Frog dolls back in July of that year. Months after she rocked the Jean Charles de Castelbajac-deigned frock on German TV, the Mother Monster took her fandom for the Jim Henson-created characters to the next level. She actually walked the carpet of the 2009 VMAs with Kermit.

At the time, the amphibian icon left the singer quite impressed. She told MTV News on the carpet how much she enjoyed having the chance to go out with Kermit, which we're sure left his longtime love Miss Piggy green with envy. "He's been a really good date," Gaga said. "It's our first date, but we've been eyeing each other for a while."

In the days after the twosome caused a stir together, Kermit opened up about the date, denying that any romance was brewing between them despite sharing a kiss on the carpet.

"Well, I wouldn't really call it a 'date' — at least not if I don't want to end up as a coat for Miss Piggy. Y'see, ...

Miley Cyrus Wrecks Billboard Charts With #1 Debut

It is her party and Miley Cyrus will do what she wants to. Including debuting at #1 thanks to 270,000 copies sold of Bangerz, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. The singer easily tops the Billboard 200 tally with her heavily hyped disc, which includes the #1 hits "Wrecking Ball" and

Miley Does It
While Cyrus bested the early sales predictions for Bangerz, her debut was well short of big first weeks by some established peers including Justin Timberlake
, Jay Z and Drake. And though it didn't match the first-week number of 2008's Breakout (371,000), it did give Cyrus her fifth #1 career debut.

Panic! And Pusha
Panic! At The Disco had a strong #2 debut well behind Cyrus with Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!
, matching their previous high first week position.

It was also a career week for the Clipse's Pusha T,, who landed at #4 with his frequently delayed solo debut, My Name is My Name.

JT And Drizzy Tumble
Drake's Nothing Was The Same (83,000) was down another 44 percent in its third week, but the album only slipped one spot to #3 as it steamed toward the 900,000 mark. The news was not nearly as good for Justin Timberlake, whose The 20/20 Experience — 2 Of 2 was down 80 percent in week two, dropping four spots to #5 on sales of nearly 70,000.

While JT still easily owns the year's best selling album with the first part of 20/20, his huge tumble is one of the largest percentage drops for a ...

Did Chris Brown Swipe At Rihanna On DJ Khaled’s Track?

DJ Khaled says he's Suffering From Success, but he isn't the only one. His buddy Chris Brown seems to be still reeling from his high-profile breakup with Rihanna.

On Tuesday, the charismatic We the Best DJ dropped "I'm Still," a new track from his October 22 album, which features Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Ace Hood and Chris Brown. On the album version of the song, Breezy sings the hook and toasts to his haters, vowing that he's "still gonna end up on top."

The unreleased version, however, which made its way onto the Internet, has a rap verse from Brown and a drastically different tone. He makes subliminal mentions of the two loves of his life: Karrueche Tran and Rihanna. "You n---as mad 'cause you f---in' with dem regular hoes, and ain't nothin' better than my Asian/ Hol' up wait, n---a f---in' with my patience, 'cause I'm that n---a give a f--- about a racist," he begins his rap verse.

Brown goes raps aggressively, blowing off steam, spitting lyrics about pulling triggers, his diamond collection and his cold heart before he delivers the line that seems to be directed at Rih Rih.

"Now every n---a in the industry done f---ed my bitch/And all my n---as said, 'I told ya,' " he rhymes without saying her name.

In June 2012, Chris Brown and Drake were involved in a brawl in a New York City nightclub, and their respective relationships with Rihanna were said to be at the root of their issues, which they have reportedly put behind them.

Last October, Chris ...

‘Free Ke$ha’ Movement Strikes Again, Releases Raw Demos

For more than a month now, a rather resolute group of Ke$ha fans have been circulating a petition to free their favorite artist from the clutches of producer Dr. Luke, whom they accuse of stunting her growth as an artist by forcing her to sing "the same generic, predictable, recycled pop songs."

To date, the petition has been signed by more than 3,000 fans, and now, the "Free Ke$ha" movement is presenting its most compelling argument to date: a pair of unreleased (and decidedly De-Lukeified) demos that not only find Ke$ha flying her freak flag, but showcase her voice rather than the Good Doctor's studio polish.

One track, "Dirty Liar," has Ke$ha soulfully singing about a honey-lipped lover who's done her wrong, complete with sassy backup singers, dramatic strings, a harmonica line and a loping backbeat reminiscent of early-'90s Trip Hop. The second song, "First Love," is less of a departure; in fact, its melodies and whirring electronic burbles recall the Warrior single and, of course, she's once again mentioning ghosts. But, as she sings about her first flame, you can't help but notice the fragility in her voice ... a trait that, more often than not, is flattened out of her finished songs.

"First Love" was supposedly taken from Ke$ha's Cannibal sessions (no word when "Dirty Liar" was recorded), and it's not exactly clear how the "Free Ke$ha" folks got their hands on either song ... though both tracks are now available on the Movement's first-ever mixtape — a 14-track album called What ...

TLC Wants To Know: ‘Why Are They Riding Miley So Hard?’

These days, it seems like everyone has advice for Miley Cyrus. Sinead O'Connor, Paul McCartney and Courtney Love are just a few of the celebs who've weighed in about the singer's provocative image.

But while some musicians have criticized the singer, '90s hitmakers TLC had nothing but love for Miley.

"Can I just say, maybe she is trying to break out of the whole [younger image and say], 'This is who I really am. I am not that Disney chick,' Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins told VH1 at the red-carpet premiere of VH1's October 21 biopic, T-Boz continued, "Let's be real, girls have been naked and doing stuff like this, twerking. It's just a different name: gyrating, booty-shaking, they just change the names."

With her album, Bangerz, topping the charts this week, Cyrus is likely to maintain the buzz that's followed her since the release of her single back in June and continued after she famously took the stage at the 2013 VMAs in August.

"People have been doing this for the end of the time, so why are they riding Miley so hard [when] ... a lot of them have been doing the same thing?" T-Boz wondered. "She's coming out with good music, she's doing her thing; it's selling. And evidently the twerking is not stopping the record sales."

Her TLC partner, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas did have some words of wisdom for Miley though as she embarks of the next chapter in her career.

"I'll say this, I just hope that Miley and anybody just have a ...

‘Kill Your Darlings’: How’d Daniel Radcliffe Do?

It may have cost a fraction of the budget of even one "Harry Potter" movie, but Daniel Radcliffe's "Kill Your Darlings" is garnering the actor some of the best reviews of his career. Based on a true story of murder and poetry, Radcliffe plays Allen Ginsberg, a leader of the beat poetry movement in the 1950s. Things take a turn for the dark when he meets Dane DeHaan's Lucien Carr, whose obsession with David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall) threatens to take Ginsberg down with him.

Best Beat Movie Yet
" 'Kill Your Darlings' is the latest and the most compelling. Far more coherent than last year's aimless 'On the Road' and more sharply focused than 2010's 'Howl...' Director John Krokidas gets the Beats. This multi-faceted tale — part murder mystery, part coming-of-age story, part intellectual disquisition of a socio-literary movement — is well-shot, assuredly directed and sharply written by Krokidas and Austin Bunn." — Claudia Puig, USA Today

Can't Beat This Cast, Either
"The cast has turned over during the years Krokidas worked on it, but luck and fate have worked in the filmmaker's favor: In addition to Radcliffe (who first expressed interest in 2008), Dane DeHaan is hot and dangerous as Carr, Ben Foster burrows into Burroughs, Jack Huston seduces as Jack Kerouac, and Michael C. Hall is just the right combo of desperate/creepy/lovelorn as Kammerer. " — Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly

This Ain't Harry Potter
"In a performance outre enough to banish any semblance of Harry Potter from the screen, Daniel Radcliffe brings a solid physical likeness and a naturally ...
