Avril Lavigne ‘Found A Husband’ Recording ‘Let Me Go’

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have committed to one another not only in real life, but also in song. In the lead-up to the November 5 release of her self-titled album, Lavigne is teasing fans with the release of the couple's ballad, "Let Me Go."

And, if you ask Lavigne, she only has the warmest, fuzziest feelings about hitting the studio with the Nickelback frontman.

"So working with Chad was awesome because I found a husband and that was the best thing that came out of the experience," she joked to MTV News. "No, we had a great time. We really just celebrated music together and we both love writing and creating; it's non-stop. Even though the record's done now and we recorded it, like, we're always around the house coming up with new ideas and concepts. It's really inspiring."

Lavigne and Kroeger married in France over the summer after getting engaged while working together on her album last year. In addition to recording "Let Me Go" together, they also co-wrote her album's lead single,

But, Lavigne notes the album isn't just a love letter to their romance. "The record's really diverse. I have a song with Marilyn Manson. I have a song called 'Hello Kitty.' It has an electronic feel. All the sounds and styles hit on sounds that I've touched on before and I've also experimented."

And while Chavril opted for sweet and romantic on their ballad, Avril and Manson decided to embrace the dark side.

"I have a song called 'Bad Girl' and it's one of the ...

Miley, One Direction And Fergie: 6 Artists Sporting Unlikely Band Tees

One post-hardcore band from Boston must have seen some majorly different clientele visiting their merch store Monday after Miley Cyrus posted a photo of herself sporting one of Ice Nine Kills' "Reefer Fever" T-shirts to Twitter. With that single snap, Cyrus joins an already lengthy list of artists who have worn other genres on their sleeves — quite literally.

Although Cyrus was likely rocking the T because it features mentee Justin Bieber surrounded by some serious herbal refreshment, the band is still excited about the BANGERZ singers' endorsement. "It's cool to know that Miley can get down with the heavy side of the music world too," singer Spencer Charnas said. "Twerking and breakdowns could be the next thing."

In honor of Miley's foray into the harder side of tunes, here are six more musicians who have come out of the closet about their diverse musical tastes (quite literally) — along with six covers they should perform while covering their bodies in jams.

1. Fergie Wants To Be Sedated
Along with about 75 percent of the shirt-wearing population, Fergie once stepped out in a Ramones T-shirt, which she apparently paired with a jaunty kimono. Gabba Gabba Hey?

Suggested Cover: "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue." We believe that practice directly correlates to "getting it started" and consequently "getting stupid (come on)."

2. Louis Tomlinson Sports Joy Division
One Direction's Louis Tomlinson hit the red carpet at the 2013 Video Music Awards kitted out in a Joy Division T. Perhaps after reaching back to the '80s with their Police-inspired single "Diana" — ...

Tyler, The Creator’s ‘Tamale’ In GIFs: Watch Him Ride A Cat And Bounce On A Butt!

If you know Tyler, the Creator, then you know the Odd Future MC and producer is just as passionate about his videos as he is about his music. Whether it's his roach-eating "Yonkers" clip or his playhouse-inspired "IFHY," Tyler puts the most into the visuals he creates under his Wolf Haley alias.

There's so much to break down in Tyler's latest vid for "Tamale." But MTV News tried — and we came up with this silly series of GIFs.

The video, which dropped early Tuesday (October 8) morning, opens with digital cutouts of Tyler's mug as he spits dirty rhymes and makes faces. "Tamale" not only showcases his creativity, but it also serves as a statement to how he sees the world through a critical lens.

While he lyrically calls director Spike Lee the dreaded N-word, Tyler drops a digitally distorted scene that is supposed to be so offensive that he elects not to show it. It's a clear aftershock from his fallout with activist Dr. Boyce Watkins following what became a controversial Mountain Dew ad that Tyler directed.

"DUE TO THE GRAPHIC NATURE OF THIS FILM I WAS FORCED TO BLUR BECAUSE PEOPLE AREN'T READY TO HAVE INTELLIGENT CONVERSATIONS BEFORE THEY JUDGE. WELCOME TO AMERICA," he wrote in a message that flashed across the screen.

It's unclear what is happening in the blurred scene, but we are to assume it's something heinous. To juxtapose in the very next scene, however, the rabble-rouser trampolines on the backside of a bikini-clad video model. "BUT THIS SH-- IS ALLOWED," ...

‘Hangover Part III’ Blooper Reel Has Us Howling With The Wolfpack: Watch Now!

It was nearly five months ago that we said goodbye to Phil, Stu and Alan, the Wolfpack of the "

The Blu-ray release of that final installment, however, is giving us a chance to revisit that last trip with some footage that didn't make the final movie, including this exclusive look at one of the bloopers from the disc.

During a scene at a gas station, Alan (Zach Galifianakis) trash talks Stu (Ed Helms) about the size of his teeth, eventually leading him to use a name that was a little too real for the movie.

Even as we enjoy looking back on the final outing of the Wolfpack, the goodbye is still bittersweet. Could this really be the end of the terrific trio of partiers? We put the question to Bradley Cooper when we sat down with the crew in Las Vegas this past May.

"When ['Part III'] was proposed, it was like, 'Let's end it. Let's do one more to end it,' " Cooper said.

The idea to end it for good was inspired in part for a need to tie up the loose end that was Galifianakis' Alan. Director Todd Phillips felt that he needed more of an ending before they could say goodbye. "We just wanted to make sure it felt like closure. The key to that was feeling that the Alan character had moved on because he was the only loose thread with these guys," Phillips said. "He was one that you'd be most worried about and going, 'I wonder if that guy is OK?' We wanted to ...

Behind Miley’s ‘SMS (Bangerz)’: ‘We Never Heard Britney Rap Like That’

Miley Cyrus' Bangerz boasts a healthy amount of hip-hop features from Nelly, Future, Big Sean and French Montana--not to mention the highly anticipated LP was executive produced by Mike Will Made It. Even Miley's Britney Spears collaboration, takes a rap twist.

The energetic track, produced by Mike Will and the Eardrummaz and written by Miley and Sean Garrett, recalls a 1980s hip-hop vibe with a bounce similar to Salt-n-Pepa's classic single "Push It."

"At first it was just gonna be all the way a solo record... all the way just Miley," Mike will told MTV News of the initial plans for the song before Miley and company decided to make a collaboration out of it. "I'm like, 'It'll be dope if we put another female on here' and the fact that it's like a kind of rapping song, it would be doper if we put another pop chick on here that we're not used to hearing rap."

The first idea didn't include Britney, but another female star. "We were thinking Gwen Stefani, we were thinking different people and then Britney was just so perfect," Mike revealed. "They have the same management and then Miley always looked up to Britney."

The recording process was all captured on MTV's "Miley: The Movement" documentary. "If someone would've told me I would've worked with Britney when I was like eight, I would've been way less cool about it," Miley said in the doc. "Eight-year-old me would be pissing her pants right now."

Mike Will was excited to help match Miley with her idol and ...

Iron Man Heads To Disneyland: Is This The Beginning Of A Marvel Invasion?

It's been just over four years since Disney bought Marvel Entertainment, and while we've seen the studio release Marvel movies, Marvel characters show up on Disney cartoons, and Disney comics get released by Marvel, there's only been a smattering of Marvel presence in Disney theme parks. That is, until now.

As announced on Tuesday (October 8), Iron Man will be blasting his way into Hong Kong Disneyland in the form of a theme park ride, photo pavilion and shopping area. This is the first time a Marvel character has inspired a ride at a Disney park, based on the complicated legalities of Marvel's deal with Universal Studios.

»Though Disney bought Marvel in 2009, the rights for some Marvel characters were already promised elsewhere. For theme parks, this was with Universal Studios in America (only). Universal has parks in both California and Florida, and both currently have Marvel-themed attractions and rides.

»Shortly before the Marvel/Disney deal, Universal California let their deal lapse. That means if Disney wanted to, they could install rides right now. The problem, as it stands, is space in Disney's California park. In order to set up a Marvel "land," something else has to disappear.

»Universal Orlando is another issue entirely: their deal with Marvel exists in perpetuity. Not only do they never need to close down their Marvel area in the Islands of Adventures theme park, but nothing Marvel is allowed to exist at a theme park within a 250-mile radius.

That last point has caused several problems for Disney in the past few years, particularly when Disney ...

Cory Monteith’s ‘Glee’ Tribute: Everything We Know So Far

It's not easy to say goodbye, but the cast of "Glee" will try their best on Thursday when they pay tribute to character Finn Hudson. This week's episode will pay homage to actor Cory Monteith, who played Finn for four seasons on the show before he died on July 13 at the age of 31.

Little is known about how the episode will unfold, but show creator Ryan Murphy has been vocal about how difficult it has been to work on it. Ahead of the airing, MTV News has rounded up what we know about the tribute episode so far.

The Premise
Originally it was planned that the episode would deal "directly" with drug abuse after it was confirmed that Monteith died of a mixed drug toxicity involving drugs and alcohol. But, Murphy later changed his mind, noting that "what we're doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died."

The Quarterback
While Finn was on McKinley High's football team on the show, Murphy noted that the episode's title, also reflects the actor's own role among the cast. "The episode is called 'The Quarterback,' and Cory really was that to that group of people and to me particularly," Murphy said. "That group of kids particularly went through the limelight and became world famous at a very difficult age, and many of them really struggled with it ... Cory obviously very much struggled with it, but never on the surface, and I think that's why everybody loved him. He was ...

‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Gains Jennifer Ehle As Anastasia’s Mom

Anastasia Steele's family tree is taking root.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that actress Jennifer Ehle will play the role of Carla, Anastasia's mother, in the upcoming adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling novel

The story centers around virginal Anastasia, a recent college graduate who meets an enigmatic billionaire named Christian Grey and embarks upon a steamy, S&M-tinged sexual relationship. But it quickly becomes clear Christian's hiding more than just a riding crop and a desire to dominate.

A divorcee multiple times over, Carla is described by daughter Ana as flighty and forgetful, but she's instantly charmed by her daughter's handsome suitor and happily makes her feelings known.

Ehle joins previously cast stars Dakota Johnson, as Anastasia, and Charlie Hunnam, as Christian.

The actress is no stranger to literary adaptations. Though she most recently appeared in Kathryn Bigelow's 2012 film "Zero Dark Thirty," Jane Austen lovers likely know (and love) Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet from the 1995 BBC miniseries "Pride and Prejudice," in which she starred alongside Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. Her other upcoming projects include "RoboCop" and "Advantageous."

While the "Fifty Shades" cast is certainly take shape, there are still a number of roles to fill, among them Ana's best friend Kate and Christian's brother Elliot.

Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, written by Kelly Marcel and produced by Universal and Focus Features, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is slated for an August 1, 2014 release.

Fall Out Boy Premiere Pax-Am Days: Hear It Now!

"I just want my childhood back!" Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump yelps on the band's new Pax-Am Days EP, a line that's not so much a missive as it is a mission statement.

Because Pax-Am — recorded in just 48 hours at Ryan Adams' Hollywood studio, rush-released and currently streaming a week early — is very much a love-letter to Fall Out Boy's formative days, 8 breakneck blasts of late 80's/early 90's punk and hardcore that serves reminder that, once upon a time, everyone in this band played fast and loose in acts like Arma Angelus and Project Rocket.

From the opening surge of "We Were Doomed From The Start (The King is Dead)" to the final fade out of "Caffeine Cold" (where Stump rants like a lightweight version of Suicidal Tendencies), Pax-Am blasts by in less than 20 minutes — the longest track clocks in at 2:44 — filled with doomy, detuned guitars, shouted gang vocals and rapidly shifting time signatures. There's little in the way of studio flourish, or produced hooks, as Adams seems content to get out of the way and just let FOB rip.

And that's precisely the point. Wentz mentioned Screeching Weasel in an interview with MTV News, and their influence is definitely evident here, but so are the Descendants, Earth Crisis and several other acts of their ilk (strangely, the single "Love, Sex, Death" recalls nothing quite so much as the visceral venting of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's "Identify"). Their new EP is part homage, part deck-clearing catharsis, ...
